Ghost center and representations of the diagonal reduction algebra of
Reduction algebras are known by many names in the literature, including step
algebras, Mickelsson algebras, Zhelobenko algebras, and transvector algebras,
to name a few. These algebras, realized by raising and lowering operators,
allow for the calculation of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients, branching rules, and
intertwining operators; and have connections to extremal equations and
dynamical R-matrices in integrable face models.
In this paper we continue the study of the diagonal reduction superalgebra
of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra . We construct
a Harish-Chandra homomorphism, Verma modules, and study the Shapovalov form on
each Verma module. Using these results, we prove that the ghost center (center
plus anti-center) of is generated by two central elements and one
anti-central element (analogous to the Scasimir due to Le\'{s}niewski for
). As another application, we classify all
finite-dimensional irreducible representations of . Lastly, we calculate an
infinite-dimensional tensor product decomposition explicitly.Comment: 27 pages; updated introduction: references and motivation;

Costs Associated with Recurrent Epistaxis in a Patient with a Ventricular Assist Device
Mucosal bleeding is a well-known complication of having a ventricular assist device and commonly presents with epistaxis. Although the frequency of epistaxis as a complication in patients with a ventricular assist device has been documented in the literature, to our knowledge the cost of this complication has not been reported. This case report examines the financial burden of ventricular assist device-associated epistaxis in a single patient from September 2018 to December 2019 using ICD 10 diagnostic codes. The patient was found to have accumulated $138,020 in costs over 38 encounters. This case report not only highlights the recurrent nature and potential high cost of epistaxis in this patient population, but also identifies a target to reduce healthcare spending. Further research is needed to assess whether cheap and simple preventative measures such as nasal hygiene regimen can decrease the frequency and/or severity of epistaxis in the patients with a ventricular assist device
Electronic structure of AuMg and AgMg ( = Eu, Gd, Yb)
We have investigated the electronic structure of the equiatomic EuAuMg,
GdAuMg, YbAuMg and GdAgMg intermetallics using x-ray photoelectron
spectroscopy. The spectra revealed that the Yb and Eu are divalent while the Gd
is trivalent. The spectral weight in the vicinity of the Fermi level is
dominated by the mix of Mg , Au/Ag and bands, and not by the
. We also found that the Au and Ag bands are extraordinarily
narrow, as if the noble metal atoms were impurities submerged in a low density
metal host. The experimental results were compared with band structure
calculations, and we found good agreement provided that the spin-orbit
interaction in the Au an Ag bands is included and correlation effects in an
open shell are accounted for using the local density approximation +
Hubbard scheme. Nevertheless, limitations of such a mean-field scheme to
explain excitation spectra are also evident.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, Brief Repor
