    Variability of valve configuration in the lumen of the coronary sinus in the adult human hearts

    Described by many authors, valves refer to the coronary sinus. The best known among them are Thebesius and Vieussen valves. Information about valves in the lumen of the coronary sinus, though, is rarely found in anatomic literature. Frequency of occurrence of valves in the lumen of the coronary sinus and the degree of their formation was chartered in this paper. 150 adult human hearts of both sexes from 18 to 85 years of age were tested, fixed in a formalin/ethanol solution. Classical macroscopic anatomical methods were used. The valves in the sinus lumen were observed in 10% of the tested hearts, usually presented as incomplete single ones (7.3%)

    The Vieussen valve is situated at the ostium of the great cardiac vein to the coronary sinus. There are no details about its shape in anatomic literature. The tested material consisted of 150 adult human hearts of both sexes from 18 to 85 years of age, fixed in a formalin/ethanol solution. Classical macroscopic anatomical methods were used. The Vieussen valve was found in about 65% of the tested material. It showed a large variability in terms of morphology

    Many researchers have been interested in cardiac veins, which at present play a very important clinical role in invasive cardiology. In this study the occurrence of middle and small cardiac veins and the topography of their outlet portions were examined. The material consisted of 150 adult human hearts of both sexes of 18 to 85 years of age and 50 adult hearts of representatives of various primates. In the material examined a middle cardiac vein was always observed, whereas the presence of a small cardiac vein was less consistent. The outlet portions of the main veins of the heart were characterised by significant variability

    Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vyřešením problematiky vytvoření Windows služby pro obsluhu laserového skeneru, vyhodnocovacího algoritmu a komunikace s OPC serverem. Dále se zabývá vytvořením aplikace pro zobrazení 3D modelu z naskenovaných dat a testování vytvořených aplikací. Práce je rozdělená do jednotlivých podkapitol, v kterých je podrobně popsán postup řešení jednotlivých bodů zadání. V první polovině je tato práce zaměřená zejména na analýzu a návrh řešení zadané problematiky. V druhé polovině je práce zaměřená na praktickou realizaci aplikací dle vytvořeného návrhu.This diploma thesis deals with solving problems of creation of Windows service for laser scanner operation, evaluation algorithm and communication with OPC server. It also deals with creating an application for displaying a 3D model from scanned data and testing created applications. The thesis is divided into individual subchapters describing in detail the procedure of solving individual points of entry. In the first half, this work is mainly focused on the analysis and design of the solution of the given problems.     Wear resistance of constructional materials in cooperation with the oxide coating

    This article presents the results of tribological tests, stereometric tests, and surface morphology tests carried out with steel structural materials prepared according to ANSI: 304, 316, 52100 and ceramic structural materials like WC (tungsten carbide) and SI3N4 (silicon nitride) used for co-operation with aluminum oxide coating. The aim of the study was to determine the usefulness of selected materials for co-operation with anodic oxide coating under dry friction conditions. This paper is a continuation of a research on the co-operation of APT with plastics. The oxide coating was formed on EN AW-5251 aluminum alloy by the electrochemical method in a ternary electrolyte system. Tribological tests were carried out using the T-01 tester with a ball-on-disc friction system and under dry friction conditions and for rotational motion. Other test parameters were accepted in accordance to guidelines of the VAMAS program. Test results established that the selected materials behaved in various manners during tribological cooperation with oxide coating. Steel materials varied greatly in frictional wear intensity and other tribological characteristics. The research also revealed that stainless steels are not suitable materials for cooperation with anodic hard coating under dry friction conditions. For other materials, smaller friction wear intensities were obtained

    The effect of electron beam irradiation on tribological characteristics of PTFE, POM and PA in combination with an anodic-oxide coatings

    In this paper, the authors present the results of tribological and stereometric tests as well as the results of surface morphology of polytetrafluoroethylene, polyoxymethylene, and polyamide subjected to modification with a beam of high energy electrons in collaboration with an aluminium anodic-oxide coating (AOC). The aim of this study was to determine the suitability of the selected modified polymer to work with an anodic oxide coating in non-lubricated friction nodes. The paper is a continuation of an issue related to AOC cooperation with selected polymer, iron alloys, and ceramic materials. The results showed that the selected materials behave differently during tribological cooperation with an oxide coating. A modification with the use of an electron beam deteriorated the tribological properties of these materials, mainly their wear intensity

    Evaluation of wear resistance of polymer materials in cooperation with an oxide coating

    This paper presents the tribological and stereometric research of polymer materials: POM (Delrin), PTFE (Teflon), PA (Nylon) in cooperation with the oxide aluminium alloy. The purpose of the study was to determine the suitability of chosen materials to work with the AHC (anodic hard coating) in applications to technically dry friction condition nodes. These coatings have been obtained on the aluminium alloy EN-AW-5251 using an electrochemical process. Tribological tests were carried out on ball-on-disk T-01 testing machine (disk rotating) in dry friction conditions. Other test parameters are considered in accordance with the VAMAS program guidelines

    Classification of hepatic metastasis in enhanced CT images by dipolar decision tree

    - Cette étude a pour but de réaliser une classification des métastases hépatiques, en imagerie scanner. Les régions d'intérêt analysées représentent du tissu sain, et quatre types de métastases. Pour chaque patient, trois acquisitions sont réalisées (sans injection de produit de contraste, aux phases artérielle et portale après injection). La méthode comporte une première étape de caractérisation par analyse de texture, suivie d'une classification des régions. La méthode de classification utilisée est basée sur les arbres de décision dipolaires. Dans cette méthode, chaque noeud de l'arbre correspond à un test multivariable (hyperplan). La recherche de l'hyperplan optimal est basée sur la séparation des dipôles (paire de vecteurs de paramètres de l'ensemble d'apprentissage). Les résultats préliminaires montrent que la qualité de classification augmente quand le temps d'acquisition des images est pris en compte, et qu'elle est supérieure à celle obtenue par d'autres méthodes de classification
