    The effect of intense exercise on muscle power and functional abilities of obese people

    BACKGROUND: Obesity, expressed as a high body mass index (BMI), is associated with a risk of decrease in functional capacity and muscle strength, in particular in weight-bearing joints, but so far, no study has been able to show a sufficiently strong relationship between these factors. two options in conclusion.AIM: This study was conducted to quantify the effect of intense exercise on the functional capacity and muscle power of obese individuals and the risk of knee osteoarthritis.MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present research project is characterized as a clinical trial, cross-sectional, and uncontrolled research. All participants had a body mass index from 30.6 kg/m² to 34.9 kg/m² and reported not working out in the last 3 months prior to this experiment. Before their involvement, all participants were informed during an initial interview about the experimental procedure, the nature of the research, and the test protocols. They gave their written and signed informed consent to voluntarily participate in this research and completed two questionnaires. Participants in our study were recruited from sports centers, social clubs, and word of mouth. A total of 78 participants responded to the call articipated in our training protocol which was composed of two main parts. The first one is the «Anthropometric measurements tests» and the second one is the «Functional capacity tests» that were done in a gym. The participants were divided randomly into two experimental. After the end of every phase of the experiment, some members of each group were moved randomly to the other group.RESULTS: The final results of the intra-class correlation coefficient measurements for a set of tests showed strong reliability among members of each examined group. For the handgrip strength tests of the right and left hands, the results were 0.850 and 0.892, respectively. For the squat jump and countermovement jump tests, the results were 0.966 and 0.932, respectively. The results were 0.896 and 0.945 for walking 6 meters with or without double tasks. Finally, for the TUG and TUP-DT tests, the results were 0.520 and 0.663, respectively. After analyzing and interpreting the data for the functional capacity tests, the following results were obtained: For the 5 sit-stand test, the result was (F (3.87)=4.22; p=0.008, ηp2=0.127). For the Time up and go test, the result was (F (3.87)=4.56; p=0.019, ηp2=0.136), and for the 6 m walk, the result was (F (3.87)=3.81; p=0.013, ηp2=0.116). Finally, the 5X sit-to-stand test at 48 hours was lower than the base value (p=0.024), while the TUG immediately after the post was lower than the base value.CONCLUSION: In conclusion, the results of this study demonstrate the positive impact of intense exercise on muscle power and functional capacity in obese individuals. These findings suggest that high-intensity physical activity may be an effective means of improving the health and quality of life of obese individuals. Therefore, it is recommended that obese individuals include high-intensity exercise in their regular exercise program to reap these health benefits. However, it is important to emphasize the importance of consulting a healthcare professional before starting a high-intensity exercise program to avoid the risk of injury or health complications

    The motivation and determination of the many factors that cause the learners desire to learn or not, is a theme that has been widely apprehended in an educational context and sports. This study aims at knowing the various styles of behaviour of the pupils when they are justify for the courses of PES. Hundred and seventy-five pupils stemming from four public secondary establishments of Taza (Morocco), from 12 to 18 years old were subjected to an opened questionnaire evaluating their behavioural expressions according to four times which make a session of physical and sports education PSE : before the course, during the heating, during the course and after the course. The results reveal overall that when the courses of PSE interest the pupils, they express it by classifiable styles of behaviour in the order of: punctuality, the concentration, the active participation and positive emotional demonstrations of physical well-being and good mood after the courses

They always locate at the gut and they occupy almost the same habitat. Rhadinorhynchus cadenati is the most abundant and it is with great numbers, that is why we are interested to follow its spatial distribution along the intestine of host fish T. ovatus

    Health risk behaviours amongst school adolescents: protocol for a mixed methods study

    Abstract Background Determining risky behaviours of adolescents provides valuable information for designing appropriate intervention programmes for advancing adolescent’s health. However, these behaviours are not fully addressed by researchers in a comprehensive approach. We report the protocol of a mixed methods study designed to investigate the health risk behaviours of Moroccan adolescents with the goal of identifying suitable strategies to address their health concerns. Methods We used a sequential two-phase explanatory mixed method study design. The approach begins with the collection of quantitative data, followed by the collection of qualitative data to explain and enrich the quantitative findings. In the first phase, the global school-based student health survey (GSHS) was administered to 800 students who were between 14 and 19 years of age. The second phase engaged adolescents, parents and teachers in focus groups and assessed education documents to explore the level of coverage of health education in the programme learnt in the middle school. To obtain opinions about strategies to reduce Moroccan adolescents’ health risk behaviours, a nominal group technique will be used. Discussion The findings of this mixed methods sequential explanatory study provide insights into the risk behaviours that need to be considered if intervention programmes and preventive strategies are to be designed to promote adolescent’s health in the Moroccan school

    Science Teachers' Views on the Use and Effectiveness of Interactive Simulations in Science Teaching and Learning

    The objective of this article is to identify and discuss the views of teachers of physics-chemistry (Ph-Ch) and Life and Earth Sciences (LES) on the use and effectiveness of interactive simulations PhET (Physics Education Technology) in student teaching and learning. A survey research method was used in this study. 114 Moroccan science teachers (67 Ph-Ch; 47 LES) at middle and high schools were surveyed. The quantitative analysis was performed to provide insight into who uses PhET simulations, why they use them, and how they are used. The data collected was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The results indicate that the use of interactive simulations in investigative science teaching and learning is very effective for both teachers and students, despite the presence of a set of obstacles that hinder the use of classroom simulations. The implication of this research is that the use of interactive simulations in science teaching in Morocco can enhance learning activities and help students to understand scientific concepts effectively
