    Magic wavelengths for the 6s^2\,^1S_0-6s6p\,^3P_1^o transition in ytterbium atom

    The static and dynamic electric-dipole polarizabilities of the 6s^2\,^1S_0 and 6s6p\,^3P_1^o states of Yb are calculated by using the relativistic ab initio method. Focusing on the red detuning region to the 6s^2\,^1S_0-6s6p\,^3P_1^o transition, we find two magic wavelengths at 1035.7(2) nm and 612.9(2) nm for the 6s^2\,^1S_0-6s6p\,^3P_1^o, M_J=0 transition and three magic wavelengthes at 1517.68(6) nm, 1036.0(3) nm and 858(12) nm for the 6s^2\,^1S_0-6s6p\,^3P_1^o, M_J=\pm1 transitions. Such magic wavelengths are of particular interest for attaining the state-insensitive cooling, trapping, and quantum manipulation of neutral Yb atom.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figure

    Functional observers design for nonlinear discrete-time systems with interval time-varying delays

    summary:This paper is concerned with the functional observer design for a class of Multi-Input Multi-Output discrete-time systems with mixed time-varying delays. Firstly, using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach, we design the parameters of the delay-dependent observer. We establish the sufficient conditions to guarantee the exponential stability of functional observer error system. In addition, for design purposes, delay-dependent sufficient conditions are proposed in terms of matrix inequalities to guarantee that the functional observer error system is exponentially stable. Secondly, we presented the sufficient conditions of the existence of internal-delay independent functional observer to ensure the estimated error system is asymptotically stable. Furthermore, some sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee that the internal-delay independent functional observer error system is exponentially stable. Finally, simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method

    Taking the Chinese inland scholars’ co-authorships in the 10 leading international academic journals in the field of technological innovation management from 1990 to 2016 as the sample, the article empirically investigates factors which influence Chinese inland scholars’ propensity towards international collaboration with Logistic regression model. The empirical results show that Chinese inland scholars who have overseas education background show higher propensity towards international collaboration. However, both the overseas academic exchange experience and academic experience have no significant impacts on the propensity towards international collaboration.     Dual quaternion-based inverse kinematics of dexterous finger

    The inverse kinematics solution of a dexterous robotic finger has a significant impact on the real-time control of the robotic hand. Therefore a rapid method for solving is needed. The classical homogeneous matrix transformation is the most popular method used in robot kinematics. However, for the multi degree-of-freedom (DOF) robotic finger, the matrix parameters cost much storage and the inverse matrix calculation requires a large amount of computational cost. So it is not conducive to the real-time control of the robotic hand. Therefore, a method based on dual quaternions is presented for analysing the kinematics of a multi-DOF (4-DOF) robotic thumb. Firstly, the kinematics equation is expressed by dual quaternions. Then the multivariate kinematic equations are converted to binary quadratic equations with methods of separating variables and variable substitution, which is relatively easy to obtain the closed-form solution of the inverse kinematics. Finally, it proves that the dual quaternions method has advantages over the homogeneous matrix transformation in storage and computational cost by the specific numbers for the robotic thumb, which is conducive to the real-time control of robotic hand

    Enhanced Raman scattering can be obtained by injecting a seeded light field which is correlated with the initially prepared collective atomic excitation. This Raman amplification process can be used to realize atom-light hybrid interferometer. We numerically calculate the phase sensitivities and the signal-to-noise ratios of this interferometer with the method of homodyne detection and intensity detection, and give their differences between this two methods.     Identification of miRNAs in a Liver of a Human Fetus by a Modified Method

    BACKGROUND: miRNAs are 17-25 nucleotides long RNA molecules that have been found to regulate gene expression in human cells. There are studies showing that different groups of miRNAs are involved in development of different tissues. In hepatocytes there are reported particular types of miRNAs that regulate gene expression. METHODS: We established a human fetal liver cDNA library by a modified cloning protocol. Then plasmid isolation from the colonies was performed. After sequencing and database searching, the miRNAs were recognized. RT-PCR and sequencing were carried out to validate the miRNAs detected. Real-time PCR was used to analyze the expression of each miRNA. RESULTS: One novel miRNA was discovered, together with another 35 previously-known miRNAs in the fetal liver. Some of them existed in variants. The miRNAs identified were validated by RT-PCR and sequencing. Quantitative analysis showed that they have variable expression. CONCLUSION: Our results indicate that a special group of miRNAs may play an important role in fetal liver development in a synergistic manner
