The 13.9 GHz short pulse radar noise figure measurements utilizing silicon and gallium-arsenide mixer diodes
An analysis was made on two commercially available silicon and gallium arsenide Schottky barrier diodes. These diodes were selected because of their particularly low noise figure in the frequency range of interest. The specified noise figure for the silicon and gallium arsenide diodes were 6.3 db and 5.3 db respectively when functioning as mixers in the 13.6 GHz region with optimum local oscillator drive
Beyond cute: exploring user types and design opportunities of virtual reality pet games
Virtual pet games, such as handheld games like Tamagotchi or video games like Petz, provide players with artificial pet companions or entertaining pet-raising simulations. Prior research has found that virtual pets have the potential to promote learning, collaboration, and empathy among users. While virtual reality (VR) has become an increasingly popular game medium, litle is known about users' expectations regarding game avatars, gameplay, and environments for VR-enabled pet games. We surveyed 780 respondents in an online survey and interviewed 30 participants to understand users' motivation, preferences, and game behavior in pet games played on various medium, and their expectations for VR pet games. Based on our findings, we generated three user types that reflect users' preferences and gameplay styles in VR pet games. We use these types to highlight key design opportunities and recommendations for VR pet games

Conductivity and the current-current correlation measure
We review various formulations of conductivity for one-particle Hamiltonians
and relate them to the current-current correlation measure. We prove that the
current-current correlation measure for random Schr\"odinger operators has a
density at coincident energies provided the energy lies in a localization
regime. The density vanishes at such energies and an upper bound on the rate of
vanishing is computed. We also relate the current-current correlation measure
to the localization length
Precision half-life measurement of the 4-fold forbidden electron capture of V-50
A sensitive search of the 4-fold forbidden non-unique beta decay of V-50 has
been performed. A total exposure of 185.8 kg x d has been accumulated. A
reliable half-life value with the highest precision so far of years of the electron capture decay of V-50 into the first
excited state of Ti-50 could be obtained. A photon emission line following the
4-fold forbidden beta decay into the first excited state of Cr-50 could not be
observed, resulting in a lower limit on the half-life of the beta decay branch
of years. This is barely in agreement with a claimed
observation of this decay branch.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, replaced with published versio
