It is the spiritual foundation of society, the goal and the driving force of development. The article researches and clarifies the values of the 1943 Outline of Vietnamese Culture, the role of culture in the construction and defense of the country. From there, the article offers solutions to promote the strength of culture in the construction and development of the country in the current period.  Article visualizations

Robust Adaptive Control of 3D Overhead Crane System

    Get PDF
In this chapter an adaptive anti-sway controller for uncertain overhead cranes is proposed. The system model including the system uncertainties and disturbances is introduced firstly. Next, the adaptive controller which can guarantee tracking the desired position of the trolley as well as the anti-sway of the load cable is established. In this chapter, the system is proven to be input-to-state stable (ISS) which is supported by Lyapunov technique. The proposed algorithm is verified by using Matlab/Simulink simulation tool. The simulation results shown that the presented controller gives the good performances (i.e., fast transient response, position tracking, and low swing angle) when there exist system parameters variation as well as input disturbances

The mediating role of passion in entrepreneurship intention: Identity centrality and role models increase passion

    Get PDF
Entrepreneurial passion is the key to starting a business. Passion motivates desire so that entrepreneurs strive to achieve success. Passion is not only the experience of intense emotions but also a part of identity centrality. On the other hand, an individual’s entrepreneurial decisions can be influenced by the opinions and behaviors conveyed by others and a person's career ambitions can be significantly stimulated if they have a role model. The role model, in addition to inspiration, also plays an important role in helping individuals learn to identify themselves so entrepreneurial role models impart entrepreneurial passion for individuals to shape entrepreneurial intentions. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating role of passion in both relationships: between entrepreneurial identity centrality and entrepreneurship intention as well as between the entrepreneurial role model and entrepreneurship intention. The study is a quantitative research, data is surveyed in a single time collected from a population. 531 questionnaires are distributed to young people who are studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City and has the intention to start-up their own business. The findings of the research show that both above relationships are significantly mediated by passion. The research could support the theory of distal and proximal antecedence that influence entrepreneurship intention for students

Solutions to Protect and Promote Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Capital Hanoi (Vietnam) Facing the Pressure of Urbanization

    Get PDF
Hanoi is a major cultural center of Vietnam with a diverse, rich and unique intangible cultural heritage system built up over thousands of years of history. Recently, Hanoi has made many efforts to promote the value of cultural heritage to develop cultural industries, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the Capital. However, under the current pressure of urbanization, many of Hanoi's intangible cultural heritages are at risk of being eroded, or even disappearing. Therefore, preserving and promoting Hanoi's intangible cultural heritage is an urgent and important task to preserve the traditional identity of the "Capital of a thousand years of civilization"

Constituents from stem barks of Anacolosa poilanei Gagnep. (Olacaceae)

    Get PDF
Four compounds were isolated from the stem barks of Anacolosa poilanei Gagnep. Theirs structures were established by spectroscopic analysis including MS and NMR. Accordingly, the isolates were identified as trichadenic acid B (1), trichadonic acid (2), amentoflavone (3) and β-sitosterol (4)

    SYSTEM THEORY BASED MULTIPLE BEAMFORMING

    Get PDF
In this paper, the problem of analysis and design of large-scale multiple beamforming system is considered by system theory approach. We consider the response of system parameters by set of objective functions in a critical condition, which is unable to access measurement data or the data size is large. The reduced-order model is built and the robust solution is found for a multiple beamforming system. The Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed multiple beamforming system yields significant performance against over existing methods

Development of Spray Pyrolysis System for Deposition of Nano-structure Materials

    Get PDF
In this paper, we report the development of the spray pyrolysis technique for preparing different nano-structure materials toward the application in thin film solar cells. The spray pyrolysis system can heat up the substrate to 6000C with less than 0.01% full scale. The ramping rate can be set to 100C per minute. The effective coating area can be up to 100 x 100 mm2. Using this technique, the thickness and roughness of the films can be controlled. The obtained morphology, the microstructure of the thin-films, given by scanning electron microscope, X ray diffraction…showed that the system is suitable for deposition of different layers of the dye sensitized solar cell

Impact assessment of a local seventeen-year initiative on cassava-based soil conservation measure on sloping land as a climate-smart agriculture practice in Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province, Vietnam

    Get PDF
Van Yen District in Yen Bai Province represents the general terrain conditions and farming systems of the northern mountainous region of Vietnam. It has suffered land degradation due to soil erosion and nutrient depletion, which in turn led to declined crop yield, and food insecurity. The district experienced these impacts due to unsustainable upland agricultural practices. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development realized that their previous practices would not leave anything behind for the next generations. This prompted them to launch an agricultural conservation program in 2003 to restore degraded soils, which would improve the production in the farms, and diversify incomes and the household economy of local farmers. Over the 17 years of implementation, the program has introduced six conservation measures that have been well-received and implemented by the farmers of Van Yen. This report assesses the impacts of the 17-year program using the economic, environmental, and social lenses with a focus on the cassava crop, considering the traditional cassava monocrop system (or non-adoption group) and the six conservation measures (or adoption group). The study applied a mixed-methods approach, using semi-questionnaire to collect qualitative information from 488 farmers across six communes and surveys to collect soil samples to assess the levels of soil restoration among certain measures. The study also used the quantitative research findings from two other research studies conducted in Mau Dong Commune to help discuss its findings

Inequalities between peri-urban and urban areas in urbanization process of Ho Chi Minh city: an urban political-ecology perspective

    Get PDF
Thanks to the implementation of Vietnam’s economic renovation or ‘Doi Moi’ policy since 1986, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) urban has grown quickly. However, this also leads to an increase in inequality. Its peri-urban area, which undergoes higher level of urbanization than urban area, faces more problems such as land use change, inadequate development process, unequal allocation of services and investment, and ignorance of environmental protection and cultural preservation. These impacts show inequality in standards of living between residents of the two areas. Using the framework of the Peri-Urban Political-Ecology, this paper aims to depict a general picture of the situation and analyse the causes of social inequalities between these two areas in terms of economy, public services, and environment through “everyday practices” (i.e. events, problems, stories, etc.). The paper uses HCMC’s statistical data in 2015-2017 periods and research findings from previous studies. The results shows that the main causes in inequalities between these two areas are the inevitability of urban metabolism and the unequal power interaction among the state, society and market

Conservation agriculture for a climate-resilient and sustainable upland agriculture: A success story from a seventeen-year local program in northern Vietnam

    Get PDF
The brief elaborates on the lessons learned from an impact assessment of a local seventeen-year initiative on cassava-based soil conservation measure on sloping land as a climate-smart agriculture practice in Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province, Vietnam. Focusing on the economic, environmental, and social benefits, the recommendations push for institutional level strategies on how this success story can be replicated in areas with similar biophysical and socio-economic conditions
