    Double-core evolution and the formation of neutron-star binaries with compact companions

    We present the results of a systematic exploration of an alternative evolutionary scenario to form double neutron-star binaries, first proposed by Brown (1995), which does not involve a neutron star passing through a common envelope. In this scenario, the initial binary components have very similar masses, and both components have left the main sequence before they evolve into contact; preferably the primary has already developed a CO core. We have performed population synthesis simulations to study the formation of double neutron star binaries via this channel and to predict the orbital properties and system velocities of such systems. We obtain a merger rate for DNSs in this channel in the range of 0.1 - 12/Myr. These rates are still subject to substantial uncertainties such as the modelling of the contact phase.Comment: MNRAS, accepte

    Karakteristik Briket Biocoal dengan Penambahan Sekam Padi dan Wax

    Biocoal made by mixing Sub-Bituminous Tanjung Enim coal with rice skin biomass to make biocoal briquette that will have calorific value suitable for domestic consumption and also have a quicker initial burning time that has been a problem in applying briquette. The rice skin biomass was mixed in 10 gram – 50 gram compositions with 1 gram – 5 gram variations of wax to a fixed weight of 100 gram coal. The size of coal was also studied, which was 50 mesh, 70 mesh, 140 mesh and 220 mesh. The result shown that all briquettes had calorific values (5014 – 5891 cal/gram) that are in range of biocoal standard (5500 – 6000cal/gram)with a quicker initial burning time (2:35 – 16:58 minutes).     Survey of literature on women movement which takes place in different places in the world shows us that the movement means different things to different group of people. While the survey tells us that political setting highly influencial in shaping the movement, the very political nature of the movement is not necessarily lays in women relationship to the state. The jargon is that "personal is political." Some movement aims at practical change and other concerns with strategic change.     Sowing the seeds of massive black holes in small galaxies: Young clusters as the building blocks of Ultra-Compact-Dwarf Galaxies

    Interacting galaxies often have complexes of hundreds of young stellar clusters of individual masses 1046 M\sim 10^{4-6}~M_\odot in regions that are a few hundred parsecs across. These cluster complexes interact dynamically, and their coalescence is a candidate for the origin of some ultracompact dwarf galaxies (UCDs). Individual clusters with short relaxation times are candidates for the production of intermediate-mass black holes of a few hundred solar masses, via runaway stellar collisions prior to the first supernovae in a cluster. It is therefore possible that a cluster complex hosts multiple intermediate-mass black holes that may be ejected from their individual clusters due to mergers or binary processes, but bound to the complex as a whole. Here we explore the dynamical interaction between initially free-flying massive black holes and clusters in an evolving cluster complex. We find that, after hitting some clusters, it is plausible that the massive black hole will be captured in an ultracompact dwarf forming near the center of the complex. In the process, the hole typically triggers electromagnetic flares via stellar disruptions, and is also likely to be a prominent source of gravitational radiation for the advanced ground-based detectors LIGO and VIRGO.     The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of compensation and work environment on employee job satisfaction at PDAM Tirta Mangutama Badung.This study was conducted In PDAM Tirta Mangutama Badung with a sample of 66 respondents and the data were analyzed by linear regression analysis techniques berganda.Hasil analysis in this study found that the compensation and work environment partially positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. The most dominant variable affecting job satisfaction is the work environment. The variable compensation indicator is the lowest value allowance, therefore, companies must pay attention to the nominal increase in allowances in line with the increase in corporate profits. In the work environment variables lowest value indicator is lighting, the company must adjust the lamp power used by the magnitude of the room so that employees feel comfortable while working. If it can be considered properly then it can have a positive impact and improve employee satisfaction at PDAM Tirta Mangutama Badung

    Motivation for breastfeeding and social support is very important for the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Breastfeeding support and motivation is obtained from family, leaders and the government. The implication of the government support given is the existence of regulations for organizer of public facilities that stating that the owner of public facilities must support the exclusive breastfeeding program at the airport. The airport is an important means for the mobility of both domestic and foreign tourist. The role of airport is very important to realizing healthy tourism. This study used a case study design. The subjects of this study were the leaders, staff and visitors of Adisutjipto International Airport. The number of informants is five people. The research instruments were interview guides and observation forms. Knowledge, attitudes and informant support for the exclusive breastfeeding program are good. There needs to be a stronger promotion effort for all levels of society so that exclusive breastfeeding programs can be achieved. Provision of nursery rooms at Adisutjipto International Airport is in accordance with government standards with facilities such as tables, chairs, baby boxes, washing stand, dispensers and trash can. Adisutjipto International Airport is confirmed as a breastfeeding friendly airport

    The study aims to analyze the factors affecting the performance of employees at PT. Asli Bali reef tours and influencing variables that represent each of the factors affecting the performance of employees at PT. Karang Bali Asli Tur. Selecting and focusing the study on PT. Asli Bali reef tour with employees making as many as 66 people as the sample with saturated sample method. Data were collected through questionnaires and adopt a multiple linear regression analysis. Results of data through methods Principal Component Analysis (PCA), there are four factors that affect the performance of employees at PT. Asli Bali reef tour and was able to explain all the variants that exist in the data, that is equal to 66.150 percent. These four factors are leadership factor with eigen value of 3.826, the motivational factors with eigen value of 3.506, the compensation factor with eigen value of 3.012, and the communication factor with eigen value equal to 2.886. While the variables that represent each of the factors affecting the performance of employees at PT. Asli Bali reef tour is the discipline variable loading factor superior to 0.810, variable working relationship with the loading factor 0,795, variable holiday allowances with loading factor 0.815, and variable discussion with loading factor 0.88
