Industrielles Verbundprojekt im Gartenbau - Gewaechshaus-System Abschlussbericht

The aim of the project was to develop a new greenhouse system with high productivity, reduced energy demand and reduced emissions. The results of the development of a new greenhouse type showed, that the expected advantages by using new foil materials could not be realised. With a new glazing system, developed in succession of this project, the aim could be reached in the meantime. Energy saving due to air dehumitification in combination with heat recovery, artificial lightning and electric power production showed to be economically and ecologically useful but only under defined conditions. A computer program to define the optimal layout of such a system for each individual production plants is still in development.
