Application of the Gkm to Some Nonlinear Partial Equations

In this manuscript, the strain wave equation, which plays an important role in describing different types of wave propagation in microstructured solids and the (2+1) dimensional Bogoyavlensky Konopelchenko equation, is defined in fluid mechanics as the interaction of a Riemann wave propagating along the y-axis and a long wave propagating along the x-axis, were studied. The generalized Kudryashov method (GKM), which is one of the solution methods of partial differential equations, was applied to these equations for the first time. Thus, a series of solutions of these equations were obtained. These found solutions were compared with other solutions. It was seen that these solutions were not shown before and were presented for the first time in this study. The new solutions of these equations might have been useful in understanding the phenomena in which waves are governed by these equations. In addition, 2D and 3D graphs of these solutions were constructed by assigning certain values and ranges to them

Delivering digital higher education into prisons: The cases of four universities in Australia, UK, Turkey and Nigeria

Around the world, various correctional jurisdictions are struggling to enable the delivery of higher education into prisons. At a time when universities are moving increasingly online, very often access to the internet is restricted or disallowed in correctional environments. Four universities, all leading distance education providers in the countries in which they are based, are delivering higher education into prisons using technology to varying extents. This paper reports on regional differences in the provision of distance education into prisons, particularly using technology, in Australia, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Nigeria. In these four jurisdictions, there are significant differences in prisoner access to computer hardware, personal devices and to the internet. How these differences impact on the delivery of distance education is explored with an examination of various learning initiatives and lessons learned

Giant condyloma acuminatum is a rare sexually transmitted disease which primarily affects genital and perianal areas. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted disorder in young, sexually active populations in the USA and Europe. Giant condyloma acuminatum is a uniqe variant of condyloma acuminata, characterized by local aggressive behaviour despite benign histology. It carries a substantial risk of squamous cell carcinoma. Various treatments have been used, but response is often poor and recurrence rates high. We present a case of giant condyloma acuminata succesfully treated with surgical excision.

EREN, ERDEM/0000-0003-4475-3250WOS: 000422261700009PubMed: 25621231A wide range of conditions, including atherosclerosis, may lead to pulsatile tinnitus. the objective of this study was to evaluate the patients with pulsatile tinnitus by means of carotid Doppler ultrasound parameters. Thirty-four patients with pulsatile tinnitus were enrolled in the study. Internal carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT), blood flow velocities and arterial lumen diameters (LD) were measured and compared with the control group. Mean end diastolic velocity (EDV) (32.29 +/- 17.22) and IMT (1.06 +/- 0.36) values were significantly higher and mean LD (6.69 +/- 1.20) was significantly lower compared to the control group. Peak systolic velocity and EDV values were significantly higher in patients whose IMT were greater than 1 mm. Pulsatile tinnitus may be the first symptom of a severe, life threatening disease. Doppler sonography is a noninvasive, safe and easily applicable diagnostic tool for the evaluation of the vascular structures, in patients with pulsatile tinnitus
