L'analyse du champ de l'EP est habituellement effectuée sur la base de la constitution de liens sociaux. Au contraire, ici, l'application des sciences sociales, à des matériaux historiques constitués par l'histoire des rapports entre le champ de l'éducation physique, et celui notamment du sport, montre que l'image de ces champs se recompose et s'autonomise. Cette autonomisation est largement tributaire de la dislocation et de la rupture des liens qui rattachaient cette institution à d'autres institutions, telles que l'institution sportive ou militaire.Analysis of the field of Physical Education is generally made on the basis of the constitution of social links/inter-relationships. Hepatitis C of genotype 2: the role of medical invasive exams.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Hepatitis C virus genotype 2 is the third in order of frequency in Belgium. The aim of this study was to better define the genotype 2 carriers' epidemiology characteristics. METHODS: In a database comprising 1726 viremic hepatitis C virus patient from the south part of Belgium, the files of 98 genotype 2 carriers were reviewed. RESULTS: There was a strong association between genotype 2 and the mode of transmission. The rate of contamination by invasive medical exams was very high (23%), and statistically different from the one of the others genotypes. Eligibility for antiviral therapies and the rate of sustained viral response were high. CONCLUSION: HCV genotype 2 was highly associated with transmission by invasive medical exams.Peer reviewe

Transcription factor regulation can be accurately predicted from the presence of target gene signatures in microarray gene expression data

Deciphering transcription factor networks from microarray data remains difficult. This study presents a simple method to infer the regulation of transcription factors from microarray data based on well-characterized target genes. We generated a catalog containing transcription factors associated with 2720 target genes and 6401 experimentally validated regulations. When it was available, a distinction between transcriptional activation and inhibition was included for each regulation. Next, we built a tool (www.tfacts.org) that compares submitted gene lists with target genes in the catalog to detect regulated transcription factors. TFactS was validated with published lists of regulated genes in various models and compared to tools based on in silico promoter analysis. We next analyzed the NCI60 cancer microarray data set and showed the regulation of SOX10, MITF and JUN in melanomas. We then performed microarray experiments comparing gene expression response of human fibroblasts stimulated by different growth factors. TFactS predicted the specific activation of Signal transducer and activator of transcription factors by PDGF-BB, which was confirmed experimentally. Our results show that the expression levels of transcription factor target genes constitute a robust signature for transcription factor regulation, and can be efficiently used for microarray data mining

L’autonomisation du champ sportif. 1890-1970

Entre le début du siècle et les années 1960-70, le sport devient une entité sociale ayant un pouvoir propre qui lui permet d'exporter et d'imposer ses catégories et ses valeurs. En utilisant le concept de " champ ", emprunté à Pierre Bourdieu, il est possible de faire une lecture de l'histoire du développement de divers sports dans les pays industriels pendant cette période : il s'agit de montrer que le " champ sportif " gagne en autonomie relative, tout en indiquant quels sont les indices de cette autonomisation. La question de l'intervention de l'État dans un monde sportif relativement autonomisé vers 1960-70 est discutée. Après avoir confronté ce modèle théorique à des données historiques, quelques questions sont formulées qui intéressent les analyses du sport dans les enjeux politiques actuels.Between the beginning of the century and the 1960s and 1970s, sport has become a social entity with its own power, which allows it to export its categories and values and to impose them. Using the concept of "field" borrowed from Pierre Bourdieu, a reading of the history of the development of various sports in industrial nations during this period can be made, with the intention of demonstrating that the "field of sport" has gained in relative autonomy, and at the same time indicating what are the indicators of this autonomy. The question of state intervention in a world of sports which had become relatively autonomous around 1960 to 1970 is discussed. After confronting this theoretical model with historical data, some questions are formulated relative to sports analysis in the context of political issues today.Entre principios de siglo y los años 1960-1970, el deporte se convierte en una entidad social con poder propio que le permite exportar e imponer sus categorías y valores. Politics of Apolitism. On the autonomization of sport's field Jacques Defrance Apolitical attitudes are characteristic features of sport's culture. «Apolitism», «neutralism», «pacifism», «third stream», «anti-parlementarism», constitute the different ways to withdraw from critical situations, controversies and political struggles. The meaning of these kinds of withdrawal, their extent, their strength, vary during the XXth century. They grow as the field of physical activities and sports gets more autonomy. They assert themselves in front of the strengthening of civic norms which require to involve oneself in public matters. Socio-historic analysis shows how this forms of distanciation can be coupled with forms of commitment into politics and sport, or can be contradicted by an historical situation which requires to take a stand.La politique de l'apolitisme. La signification de ces formes de retrait, leur extension, leur force, varient au cours du XXe siècle. Elles s'accroissent à mesure que le champ des activités physiques et des sports s'autonomise. Elles s'affirment en réponse au renforcement des normes civiques exigeant de participer aux affaires publiques.
