A solar fed BLDC motor drive for mixer grinder using a buck converter

    Get PDF
In large and small scale applications, different kinds of variable speed driving systems can be found. For saving the energy consumption of these devices, eco-friendly electronics are used, which lead to the development of the Brushless DC motor (BLDC). Its higher power density, higher efficiency, higher torque at low speed, and low maintenance enhances the use of a BLDC motor. The existing mixer grinder consists of the universal motor, which operates in alternating current supply due to high starting torque characteristics and simple controlling of the speed. The absence of brushes and the reduction of noise in the BLDC extends its life and makes it ideal in a mixer grinder. A solar-powered BLDC motor drive for a mixer grinder is presented in this paper. A DC-DC buck converter is utilized to operate the PV (photovoltaic) array at its maximum power. The proposed hysteresis current control BLDC system has been developed in the MATLAB. The commercially available mixer grinder is presented along with the proposed simulated system for performance comparison. It can be concluded that at the no load condition, the efficiency of the experimental existing mixer grinder is 51.03% and simulated proposed system is 81.25% and at load condition, the efficiency of the experimental mixer grinder is 49.32% and simulated system is 79.85%

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia. It is caused either due to defective secretion of insulin or due to increased insulin resistance of peripheral tissue. The incidence of DM has increased in past decade due to sedentary lifestyle, altered dietary patterns, obesity etc. DM increases morbidity and mortality of individuals, thereby requiring great attention. In recent era, insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents are used in majority to treat DM. Recent studies have shown that simple lifestyle changes like dietary changes, yoga and physical exercise are highly beneficial in reducing the burden of disease. This review focusses on yoga as an intervention in reducing the morbidity from the disease. It highlights the benefits of yoga over physical exercise in halting the progress of disease. Physical exercise is not feasible in patients with obesity, cardio vascular diseases and older age group. Yoga is a physical, psychological and spiritual intervention that is more feasible than physical exercise.

Objective: The thought of providing the best quality of medicines at cheaper costs made the governments to think of generic drug substitutions in order to minimize the economic burden. This study was designed to investigate the attitude of physicians and pharmacists towards generic medicines and thus to reduce the gap between them. Methods: This is a simple, prospective, cross-sectional, comparative study conducted for a period of 3 mo. 100 Subjects (50 pharmacists and 50 physicians) were included in this study. Subjects who ever graduated with the pharmacy degree and working as pharmacists, as well as clinical practitioners, were included in this study. Data collected using a validated questionnaire. Results: 60% of physicians and 80% of pharmacists were confident enough in dispensing generic products. 56% of physicians agree that pharmacists play a vital role in providing assistance on the use of generic medicines. 70% of physicians and 90% of pharmacists agreed that the generic medicines are of less expensive. Conclusion: Our Study concludes that pharmacist's shows a higher positive response towards the usage of generic products than physicians. Generic drugs typically cost 30% to 60% less than their brand products. In addition, patients taking generic drugs seem to be more willing to continue therapy

Efficient Data Transfer Over Wireless Networks

    Get PDF
In the present day, efficiency in the field of communication is of utmost importance. In this study, data is transmitted over a wireless network supported by helical antennas. The efficiency is obtained by encoding the data by the Reed Solomon (RS) encoding scheme. The added advantage of this encoding scheme is its error detection and correction scheme in addition to the productive bandwidth usage. The data is encoded from the source and will be modulated using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) scheme. The modulated data is then transmitted over a wireless network supported by the helical antenna. In the receiving end, the received signal is demodulated and then decoded. In this study, errors are introduced by the user to demonstrate the error detecting and correcting capabilities. The entire set up is simulated on the MATLAB version 9.5b 2018 software

An accident is an unexpected and unintended event. In today’s world road accidents stand among the leading cause of human death, Road safety for driver is an essential requirement of society, As the Number of vehicles increase day by day, Collision of vehicle also Increases simultaneously, in this situation this project fulfils the Purpose of saving lives. Helmet is best safety equipment for driver. In this system initially we try to avoid accidents by using, a danger Zone indicator (RF transmitter) circuit, even though the accident occurred the vibration or MEMS sensor will activate the GPS to find the location and further SMS will send to ambulance and family members. This will optimize accidents as well as human death ratio by accidents due to providing proper care with in time frame. Another feature of the proposed system is the ability to detect an accident and send the corresponding geographical coordinates of the accident spot to predefined numbers using a GPS and GSM system respectively. After giving an overview of the system, the paper describes the system architecture, specific components used, logic flow employed and benefits of the system. This proposed system aims at making safety the norm and not a choice

Higher education institutions are vested with the responsibility of grooming a generation of youth through providing quality education and skills, matching the requirements of a harmonious, self-reliant and developed society, and values inclined to serve with selfless devotion in whatever capacity they assume and wherever they work. The society at large looks up to the institutions to address their needs through enhancing educational opportunity, maintaining quality, increasing employability, solving community-based problems, creating a pool of human resources, promoting inter-institutional collaborations and maintaining harmony with outer environment. In order to achieve this, institution formulate action plans for all the operational processes such as admission, teaching, placement, personality development, support services, social responsibility etc. through strategic planning. The perspective plan of the institution clearly spells out its accountability. Leadership is groomed both at student level and teacher level in academics, career, programme organization, sports and games and cultural activities through setting standards, measuring performance, ensuring discipline, character formation and personality building. Quality assurance mechanisms involve the stakeholders namely parents, students, institutions, industry and community to ensure satisfaction and compliance. Through objective criteria such as results and placement, outreach activities, events and programmes, feedback etc. the institution monitors to maintain accountability. This paper discusses the societal expectation and institutional accountability through a case study of Srinivas Institute of Management Studies (SIMS)

Comparative pharmaceutical and analytical study of Kasisadi Ghrita prepared by two different methods

    Get PDF
Introduction: Sneha Kalpana are the dosage forms which can be used both internally as well as externally. Generally, Sneha Kalpana is prepared by using Agni as source of heating. However, Kasisadi Ghrita is an exception where the sunlight is used as source of heating. This unusual method of preparation looks attractive because of natural heat (sunlight) that is required in the preparation and the yield that may be obtained. The Sneha is heated with volatile drugs in Surya Paka for a specific time so that less heat allows them to leave their active principles in Sneha. The difference between Bhanupaka and Agnipaka is also an area of interest, on this formulation as far as its manufacturing is considered. Kasisadi Ghrita is a herbo-mineral formulation indicated for various skin diseases. Materials and Methods: Kasisadi Ghrita were prepared by classical method of Bhanupaka (KGB) and usual method of Agnipaka (KGA). Both KGB and KGA were analyzed as per the standard protocol. Discussion and Conclusion: Preparation of Kasisadi Ghrita by Agnipaka method is easy as it consumes less time. There were no pharmaceutical constraints in preparation of both samples. Tamra Paatra helps to retain more heat than other vessels during Bhanupaka. The results of the pharmaceutical and analytical study can be considered as the preliminary standards for the preparation of Kasisadi Ghrita
