    Thin-Shells and Thin-Shell Wormholes in New Massive Gravity

    Within 2+1-dimensional cosmological new massive gravity, we consider thin-shell and thin-shell wormhole construction. For this, we introduce first, the junction conditions apt for the fourth order terms in the action of the theory. Then, by employing some specific static solutions in new massive gravity, we study the characteristics of associated thin-shells and thin-shell wormholes. Our finding suggests that, firstly, there cannot exist any thin-shells regarding our chosen solutions of cosmological new massive gravity, and secondly, the constructed thin-shell wormhole does not need to be symmetric. More importantly, the thin-shell wormhole, if ever forms, possesses null energy density and null angular pressure on its throat which preferable to their negative-valued counterparts.Comment: 11 pages, no figur

    Semua proyek konstruksi pasti memiliki risiko. Risiko tersebut salah satunya adalah risiko terjadinya kecelakaan. Masalah Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) saat ini masih belum menjadi perhatian utama. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari angka kecelakaan kerja di sektor konstruksi tertinggi dibanding dengan kecelakaan kerja di bidang lainnya. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pekerjaan yang berisiko menimbulkan bahaya pada Proyek Pembangunan Gedung baru Fakultas Ilmu Admistrasi Universitas Brawijaya kemudian menilai tingkat risiko secara umum dan menentukan pengendalian risiko yang tepat pada proyek tersebut. Risiko yang terjadi dinilai dengan menggunakan metode Consequence-Likelihood Analysis (CLA). Keluaran dari pengolahan dengan menggunakan metode CLA akan diketahui tingkat risiko secara umum pada proyek Pembangunan Gedung Baru Fakultas Ilmu Administrasi Universitas Brawijaya. Langkah terakhir dari penelitian ini yaitu menentukan pengendalian dan respon risiko dengan menggunakan metode Hazard Analysis dengan berdasarkan hasil kuisioner dan wawancara terhadap pengawas ataupun tenaga ahli pada proyek tersebut

    Soliton-potential interaction in the nonlinear Klein-Gordon model

    The interaction of solitons with external potentials in nonlinear Klein-Gordon field theory is investigated using an improved model. The presented model has been constructed with a better approximation for adding the potential to the Lagrangian through the metric of background space-time.     Phylogenetics Study of the Black Scar Oyster, Crassostrea Iredalei in Peninsular Malaysia as Revealed by Mitochondrial COI Sequences

    The present study attempts to assess the population structure and phylogenetics of the commercially important local black scar oyster, Crassostrea iredalei (Faustino 1932) from wild and cultured populations. We analyzed the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence variation in 581 base pairs (bp) of the cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) gene among 141 individuals from eight localities within Peninsular Malaysia. The population genetics data showed a low within population nucleotide diversity, π (0.001 – 0.003) and the total haplotype diversity, h was moderate (0.417 – 0.682). Minimum spanning network revealed a complex geographical distribution of the haplotypes. Phylogenetic relationships among the populations inferred by Neighbor-Joining and Maximum Parsimony algorithm failed to detect differentiation between these sites, indicating genetic homogeneity across the populations. The findings from this study will have important implications for aquaculture, management and monitoring of cultured populations as well as conservation of wild oyster species in Malaysia
