Antenna subtraction with massive fermions at NNLO: Double real initial-final configurations
We derive the integrated forms of specific initial-final tree-level
four-parton antenna functions involving a massless initial-state parton and a
massive final-state fermion as hard radiators. These antennae are needed in the
subtraction terms required to evaluate the double real corrections to
hadronic production at the NNLO level stemming from the partonic
processes and .Comment: 24 pages, 1 figure, 1 Mathematica file attache
The fully differential hadronic production of a Higgs boson via bottom quark fusion at NNLO
The fully differential computation of the hadronic production cross section
of a Higgs boson via bottom quarks is presented at NNLO in QCD. Several
differential distributions with their corresponding scale uncertainties are
presented for the 8 TeV LHC. This is the first application of the method of
non-linear mappings for NNLO differential calculations at hadron colliders.Comment: 27 pages, 13 figures, 1 lego plo
Scattering AMplitudes from Unitarity-based Reduction Algorithm at the Integrand-level
SAMURAI is a tool for the automated numerical evaluation of one-loop
corrections to any scattering amplitudes within the dimensional-regularization
scheme. It is based on the decomposition of the integrand according to the
OPP-approach, extended to accommodate an implementation of the generalized
d-dimensional unitarity-cuts technique, and uses a polynomial interpolation
exploiting the Discrete Fourier Transform. SAMURAI can process integrands
written either as numerator of Feynman diagrams or as product of tree-level
amplitudes. We discuss some applications, among which the 6- and 8-photon
scattering in QED, and the 6-quark scattering in QCD. SAMURAI has been
implemented as a Fortran90 library, publicly available, and it could be a
useful module for the systematic evaluation of the virtual corrections oriented
towards automating next-to-leading order calculations relevant for the LHC
phenomenology.Comment: 35 pages, 7 figure
Antenna subtraction for gluon scattering at NNLO
We use the antenna subtraction method to isolate the double real radiation
infrared singularities present in gluonic scattering amplitudes at
next-to-next-to-leading order. The antenna subtraction framework has been
successfully applied to the calculation of NNLO corrections to the 3-jet cross
section and related event shape distributions in electron-positron
annihilation. Here we consider processes with two coloured particles in the
initial state, and in particular two-jet production at hadron colliders such as
the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We construct a subtraction term that describes
the single and double unresolved contributions from the six-gluon tree-level
process using antenna functions with initial state partons and show numerically
that the subtraction term correctly approximates the matrix elements in the
various single and double unresolved configurations.Comment: 71 pages, JHEP3 class; corrected typos, equivalent but more compact

Photon Radiation with MadDipole
We present the automation of a subtraction method for photon radiation using
the dipole formalism within the MadGraph framework. The subtraction terms are
implemented both in dimensional regularization and mass regularization for
massless and massive cases and non-collinear-safe observables are accounted
for.Comment: 23 pages, 2 figures, minor additions, references added, version

Hadronic final states in deep-inelastic scattering with Sherpa
We extend the multi-purpose Monte-Carlo event generator Sherpa to include
processes in deeply inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering. Hadronic final states
in this kinematical setting are characterised by the presence of multiple
kinematical scales, which were up to now accounted for only by specific
resummations in individual kinematical regions. Using an extension of the
recently introduced method for merging truncated parton showers with
higher-order tree-level matrix elements, it is possible to obtain predictions
which are reliable in all kinematical limits. Different hadronic final states,
defined by jets or individual hadrons, in deep-inelastic scattering are
analysed and the corresponding results are compared to HERA data. The various
sources of theoretical uncertainties of the approach are discussed and
quantified. The extension to deeply inelastic processes provides the
opportunity to validate the merging of matrix elements and parton showers in
multi-scale kinematics inaccessible in other collider environments. It also
allows to use HERA data on hadronic final states in the tuning of hadronisation
models.Comment: 32 pages, 22 figure
One particle and Drell-Yan pair associated production
We briefly discuss the collinear factorization formula for the associated
production of one particle and a Drell-Yan pair in hadronic collisions. We
outline possible applications of the results to three different research areas.Comment: Presented at the workshop "30 years of strong interactions", Spa,

W boson production at hadron colliders: the lepton charge asymmetry in NNLO QCD
We consider the production of W bosons in hadron collisions, and the
subsequent leptonic decay W->lnu_l. We study the asymmetry between the rapidity
distributions of the charged leptons, and we present its computation up to the
next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD perturbation theory. Our
calculation includes the dependence on the lepton kinematical cuts that are
necessarily applied to select W-> lnu_l events in actual experimental analyses
at hadron colliders. We illustrate the main differences between the W and
lepton charge asymmetry, and we discuss their physical origin and the effect of
the QCD radiative corrections. We show detailed numerical results on the charge
asymmetry in ppbar collisions at the Tevatron, and we discuss the comparison
with some of the available data. Some illustrative results on the lepton charge
asymmetry in pp collisions at LHC energies are presented.Comment: 37 pages, 21 figure
Double real radiation corrections to production at the LHC: the all-fermion processes
We present the double real radiation corrections to the hadronic
production stemming from partonic processes with fermions only. For this
purpose, we extend the NNLO antenna subtraction formalism developed originally
for the computation of jet observables in annihilation to include the
evaluation of hadronic observables involving a massive pair of particles. In
all partonic processes, we checked the validity of our subtraction terms given
for leading and subleading colour contributions numerically by showing that the
ratio between real radiation matrix elements and subtraction terms approaches
unity in all single and double unresolved configurations.Comment: 68 pages, 9 figure
Antenna subtraction at NNLO with hadronic initial states: real-virtual initial-initial configurations
The antenna subtraction method handles real radiation contributions in higher
order corrections to jet observables. The method is based on antenna functions,
which encapsulate all unresolved radiation between a pair of hard radiator
partons. To apply this method to compute hadron collider observables,
initial-initial antenna functions with both radiators in the initial state are
required. In view of extending the antenna subtraction method to
next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) calculations at hadron colliders, we
derive the one-loop initial-initial antenna functions in unintegrated and
integrated form.Comment: 24 page
