BRAIN AND BEHAVIOR – HYPOTHALAMUS AND LIMBIC SYSTEM: THE NEUROBIOLOGY OF EMOTIONS

It is intuitive to understand how sensory information gets to the brain and how motor information can travel to the muscles together where these twosystems allow us to detect and respond to the world around us but how do we engage with that world, how do we determine what is important, andhow do we fall in the analysis. These higher cortical functions involve the complex interplay between neurotransmitters and hormones throughout theentire nervous system. There are two major anatomical behaviors; the limbic system and hypothalamus. These structures that support much highercortical functions hypothalamus is a very small structure but it is absolutely critical for life and it allows us to respond to both the internal and externalenvironment and to maintain homeostasis. The limbic system is important for learning and memory, and all emotional aspects of behavior importantlylimbic and hypothalamic structures are interconnected with each other. Let's begin with an anatomical overview of the hypothalamus in the middlesection. You can delineate the hypothalamus from the thalamus through the hypothalamic sulcus anteriorly, the hypothalamus extends to the anteriorcommissure, and the optic chiasm inferiorly and it includes the mammillary bodies and extends to the infundibula stock where it communicateswith the pituitary glands. It is a coronal section through the brain. It is the third ventricle, you can identify the thalamus on either side of the thirdventricle and underneath; the thalamus is the hypothalamus and it extends laterally to these descending fiber bundles which are part of the internalcapsule. The hypothalamus is structurally part of the diencephalon but it functions as part of the limbic system through reciprocal connections. Ithelps to maintain homeostasis in the entire body through influences on the endocrine system and importantly through its primary influence onboth the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems; the limbic system is extremely old from an evolutionary perspective in its connections and it isinterposed between the hypothalamus and the neocortex and providing a bridge between endocrine visceral emotional and voluntary responses tothe environment

Scalable Multifunctional Ultra-thin Graphite Sponge: Free-standing, Superporous, Superhydrophobic, Oleophilic Architecture with Ferromagnetic Properties for Environmental Cleaning.

Water decontamination and oil/water separation are principal motives in the surge to develop novel means for sustainability. In this prospect, supplying clean water for the ecosystems is as important as the recovery of the oil spills since the supplies are scarce. Inspired to design an engineering material which not only serves this purpose, but can also be altered for other applications to preserve natural resources, a facile template-free process is suggested to fabricate a superporous, superhydrophobic ultra-thin graphite sponge. Moreover, the process is designed to be inexpensive and scalable. The fabricated sponge can be used to clean up different types of oil, organic solvents, toxic and corrosive contaminants. This versatile microstructure can retain its functionality even when pulverized. The sponge is applicable for targeted sorption and collection due to its ferromagnetic properties. We hope that such a cost-effective process can be embraced and implemented widely

A STUDY ON THE MAGNITUDE OF HUMAN RESOURCE IN SUN AND RANBAXY MERGER

Sun Pharmaceutical is a trailblazer in Indian pharmaceutical sector, and one of the foremost competitors in the generic drug market sets its eye onRanbaxy. Sun pharmacy which was established in 1983 listed from 1994 has its upper hand in product development. Ranbaxy was incorporated in1973, and Daiichi Sankyo, a Japanese firm, got a controlling share from 2008. This amalgamation between Sun Pharmacy and Ranbaxy would get profitable transaction for the former. The process of the coalition was a cloak and dagger affair until April 6, 2014. Before mergers and acquisitions, a company has to create an urgency call among the employees which will result in better understanding of the whole scenario. The aspects are about how financial motives and non-financial motives play a major role in mergers. This case deals with the human resource issues and complexities faced by the two players in the same business. Keywords: Merger, Acquisition, Change management, Human resource, Employee engagement, Corporate strategy

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the biological potentials of sodium cadmium oxalate dihydrate complex prepared by a single diffusion method in the silica gel medium. Methods: The present complex was derived by the oxalic acid using a single diffusion method in gel medium and tested for single-crystal X-ray diffraction, ultraviolet-visible (UV) spectrum (190–500 mm), and solubility (distilled water at 20–29°C) studies. Antioxidant activity was determined by 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl assay, and antimicrobial activity was measured by agar well diffusion method. Results: The present chelating complex was successfully synthesized by gel technique. The solubility of sodium cadmium oxalate dihydrate was moderately good for deionized warm water. The UV spectral studies confirmed the chelating O-H, Na-O, and C-O bonds of the newly synthesized complex for the optical and biological properties. Conclusions: The metal-oxygen and oxygen-hydrogen bonds of the present newly synthesized sample much improved its optical, antimicrobial, and antioxidant activities and find its applications in the field of pharmaceutical and biomedical applications

Analysis of the efficiency and effectiveness as well as the independence of financial management in the North Minahasa district. The financial area is currently one of the forms of accountability and financial and form of decentralization of authority from the center to the regions. Areas that are able to manage its finances effectively and efiseien certainly expected to stimulate the economy through absorption in the productive sectors and the potential possessed so thoroughly will be able to increase the independence and financial kemampuang area. This study used a ratio analysis of the effectiveness and the efficiency ratio to see how far north Minahasa district government-owned financial management and improve its economy. Calculations performed ratios produce an average efficiency rate above 75 percent during the study year (2009 -2013), while for the effectiveness of the performance reached an average of 90 percent per year

Let\u27s Meet at Your Place: Integrating Library Content Into a Student Portal

For years, librarians have been encouraged to go where students are instead of waiting for them to come to the library. In the digital environment, where can libraries position themselves to meet the most users and provide the most timely assistance? For UVM students, one of the highest-traffic and highest-visibility locations is the “MyUVM” portal, their one-stop shop for many essential services, such as email, grades, and advising. In this presentation, you will learn how UVM librarians collaborated with Registrar’s Office Banner programmers to integrate point-of-need educational content into the portal and extend instruction services into a key student space
