Simple, effective, and high yield synthetic procedure for the synthesis of Schiff bases 5a-c is described. The scope of this reaction was investigated and noted that the presence of nickel(II) nitrate hexahydrate gave the corresponding Schiff bases in excellent yields. The inhibition effects of N-((1-phenyl-3-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)methylene)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine (PTP), 5c, have been investigated against the corrosion of copper in 0.5 M HCl solution. The investigations were accomplished using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance measurements. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements indicated that the examined compound is mixed-type inhibitor. The results of electrochemical impedance indicated that the values of the charge transfer resistance and the inhibition efficiency tend to be increased by increasing the inhibitor concentration

    Get PDF
This article provides a synthesis overview of the corporate governance literature related to the venture capital (VC) investors (or venture capitalists: VCs) bring to their portfolio companies, especially from the investment structuring to the exit date. The relationship between VC investors and investee firms has been studied mainly from the perspective of Agency Theory, through control mechanisms and incentives adopted by VC investors. However, this paper draws attention to the nature of non-financial value-added and analyzes the importance of cognitive and relational dimension of governance between the different types of VC investors. The studies reviewed in this article focus on two primary areas of inquiry: (i) active involvement of venture capitalists, (ii) venture capitalists monitoring. While much has been learned in each area, this review highlights several areas in which our understanding of the issues remains incomplete. Keywords: Venture Capital. Private Equity. Value-added and monitoring. Governance.

    Get PDF
AbstractThe corrosion behaviour of copper in aerated 3% NaCl solution was investigated by rotating electrode at various rates. The reduction of O2 obeys the Levich equation. The inhibition of the copper corrosion in aerated 3% NaCl solution was studied by using potentiodynamic polarisation and linear polarisation resistance (LRP) in the presence of different concentrations of a bipyrazolic compound named N,N-bis (3-carbomethoxy-5-methylpyrazol-1-ylmethyl) cyclohexylamine (BiPyA). The presence of this compound in the solution decreases the corrosion current density and increases the linear resistance polarisation. The inhibition efficiencies obtained from cathodic Tafel plots and LRP methods are in good agreement. BiPyA compound presents an efficient inhibitor of copper corrosion, acts as a mixed-type inhibitor and adsorbs on the copper surface according to the Langmuir isotherm model

The purpose of this article is to review studies dealing with innovation in the context of private equity. Based on our literature review, we note the role of private equity in fostering innovation and growth in Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). Thus, venture capital is early financing for innovative firms (seed and start-up stage). Although in the case of buy-out financing, investment criteria used by investors are based on the evaluation process of the innovation capacities according to the firm growth scenario expected

(Z)-2-benzylidene-2H-[1, 4] benzothiazin-3-one(T1) as New Synthesized Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in 0.5 M H2SO4

    Get PDF
The corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution by (Z)-2-benzylidene-2H-[1,4]benzothiazin-3-one: (T1)  has been studied using electrochemical polarization , electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and weight loss methods. The corrosion inhibition efficiency measured by all the three techniques was in good agreement with each other. The results showed that T1 is a very good inhibitor for mild steel in acidic media. The inhibition efficiency increases with increasing inhibitor concentration. It acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS plots indicated that the addition of T1 increases the charge-transfer resistance (Rct), decreases the double-layer capacitance (Cdl) of the corrosion process, and hence increases inhibition efficiency. The adsorption of the T1 on the mild steel surface in acid solution obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm

    Get PDF
The corrosion inhibition performance of synthesized inhibitor 7-bromopyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine-2,3(1H,4H)-dithiol (M2) was investigated on mild steel corrosion in 1 HCl using gravimetric and electrochemical measurements. The studied inhibitor, M2showed the maximum inhibition efficiency (E) of 91% at a concentration as low as 10-3M. The potentiodynamic polarization studies showed that the studied inhibitor (M2) act as mixed inhibitor. The results of EIS studies showed that in the presence of inhibitor M2, transfert charge resistance increased and Cdl decreased due adsorption of inhibitor at the mild steel surface. The adsorption of inhibitor molecules on mild steel surface obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The results of the theoretical investigation and experimental studies well complimented each other
