Evidence for the classical integrability of the complete AdS(4) x CP(3) superstring

    Get PDF
We construct a zero-curvature Lax connection in a sub-sector of the superstring theory on AdS(4) x CP(3) which is not described by the OSp(6|4)/U(3) x SO(1,3) supercoset sigma-model. In this sub-sector worldsheet fermions associated to eight broken supersymmetries of the type IIA background are physical fields. As such, the prescription for the construction of the Lax connection based on the Z_4-automorphism of the isometry superalgebra OSp(6|4) does not do the job. So, to construct the Lax connection we have used an alternative method which nevertheless relies on the isometry of the target superspace and kappa-symmetry of the Green-Schwarz superstring.Comment: 1+26 pages; v2: minor typos corrected, acknowledgements adde

More three-point correlators of giant magnons with finite size

In the framework of the semiclassical approach, we compute the normalized structure constants in three-point correlation functions, when two of the vertex operators correspond to heavy string states, while the third vertex corresponds to a light state. This is done for the case when the heavy string states are finite-size giant magnons with one or two angular momenta, and for two different choices of the light state, corresponding to dilaton operator and primary scalar operator. The relevant operators in the dual gauge theory are Tr(F_{\mu\nu}^2 Z^j+...) and Tr(Z^j). We first consider the case of AdS_5 x S^5 and N = 4 super Yang-Mills. Then we extend the obtained results to the gamma-deformed AdS_5 x S^5_\gamma, dual to N = 1 super Yang-Mills theory, arising as an exactly marginal deformation of N = 4 super Yang-Mills.Comment: 14 pages, no figure

    Spiky Strings on I-brane

We study rigidly rotating strings in the near horizon geometry of the 1+1 dimensional intersection of two orthogonal stacks of NS5-branes, the so called I-brane background. We solve the equations of motion of the fundamental string action in the presence of two form NS-NS fluxes that the I-brane background supports and write down general form of conserved quantities. We further find out two limiting cases corresponding to giant magnon and single spike like strings in various parameter space of solutions.Comment: 17 pages, major restructuring of text, added a referenc

Three Spin Spiky Strings in beta-deformed Background

We study rigidly rotating strings in β\beta-deformed AdS5×S5AdS_5\times S^5 background with one spin along AdS5_5 and two angular momenta along S5S^5. We find the spiky string solutions and present the dispersion relation among various charges in this background. We further generalize the result to the case of four angular momenta along AdS5×Sγ5AdS_5 \times S_{\gamma}^5.Comment: 12 pages, minor corrections, added references, to appear in JHE

Twisted Bethe equations from a twisted S-matrix

    Get PDF
All-loop asymptotic Bethe equations for a 3-parameter deformation of AdS5/CFT4 have been proposed by Beisert and Roiban. We propose a Drinfeld twist of the AdS5/CFT4 S-matrix, together with c-number diagonal twists of the boundary conditions, from which we derive these Bethe equations. Although the undeformed S-matrix factorizes into a product of two su(2|2) factors, the deformed S-matrix cannot be so factored. Diagonalization of the corresponding transfer matrix requires a generalization of the conventional algebraic Bethe ansatz approach, which we first illustrate for the simpler case of the twisted su(2) principal chiral model. We also demonstrate that the same twisted Bethe equations can alternatively be derived using instead untwisted S-matrices and boundary conditions with operatorial twists.Comment: 42 pages; v2: a new appendix on sl(2) grading, 2 additional references, and some minor changes; v3: improved Appendix D, additional references, and further minor changes, to appear in JHE

Contour deformation trick in hybrid NLIE

The hybrid NLIE of AdS_5 x S^5 is applied to a wider class of states. We find that the Konishi state of the orbifold AdS_5 x (S^5/Z_S) satisfies A_1 NLIE with the source terms which are derived from contour deformation trick. For general states, we construct a deformed contour with which the contour deformation trick yields the correct source terms.Comment: 39 pages, 6 figures, v2: discussion on analyticity constraints replaced by consistent deformed contou

    On the Rotating and Oscillating strings in (AdS3×S3)ϰ(AdS_3\times S^3)_{\varkappa}

We study rigidly rotating strings in the ϰ\varkappa-deformed AdS3×S3AdS_3 \times S^3 background. We find out two classes of solutions corresponding to the giant magnon and single spike solutions of the string rotating in two Sϰ2S^2_{\varkappa} subspace of rotations reduced along two different isometries. We verify that the dispersion relations reduce to the well known relation in the ϰ0\varkappa\rightarrow 0 limit. We further study some oscillating string solutions in the Sϰ3S^3_{\varkappa} subspace.Comment: 20 pages, clarifications added, version to appear in JHE
