Search-ability A Domain Quality Factor for Web Software Applications

    Get PDF
As organizations become aware of the strategic importance of e-commerce they will also become aware of the need of quality Web sites. In early years the World Wide Web was originally designed to present information to Web surfers using simple sites that consists of hyper linked text. But, Modern Web applications run large-scale software applications for e-commerce, information distribution, entertainment, and numerous other activities. The factors that constitute software quality in traditional data processing are well defined. However, it is necessary to have a full understanding about the quality in the context of World Wide Web. This paper identifies a new quality factor, searchability for the World Wide Web with the checklist of enablers. This factor enables the Web site developers and evaluators to create quality Web sites

EXPLOITING N-GRAM IMPORTANCE AND ADDITIONAL KNOWEDGE BASED ON WIKIPEDIA FOR IMPROVEMENTS IN GAAC BASED DOCUMENT CLUSTERING

This paper provides a solution to the issue: “How can we use Wikipedia based concepts in document\ud clustering with lesser human involvement, accompanied by effective improvements in result?” In the\ud devised system, we propose a method to exploit the importance of N-grams in a document and use\ud Wikipedia based additional knowledge for GAAC based document clustering. The importance of N-grams\ud in a document depends on several features including, but not limited to: frequency, position of their\ud occurrence in a sentence and the position of the sentence in which they occur, in the document. First, we\ud introduce a new similarity measure, which takes the weighted N-gram importance into account, in the\ud calculation of similarity measure while performing document clustering. As a result, the chances of topical similarity in clustering are improved. Second, we use Wikipedia as an additional knowledge base both, to remove noisy entries from the extracted N-grams and to reduce the information gap between N-grams that are conceptually-related, which do not have a match owing to differences in writing scheme or strategies. Our experimental results on the publicly available text dataset clearly show that our devised system has a significant improvement in performance over bag-of-words based state-of-the-art systems in this area

A Lossy Colour Image Compression Using Integer Wavelet Transforms and Binary Plane Transform

    Get PDF
In the recent period, image data compression is the major component of communication and storage systems where the uncompressed images requires considerable compression technique, which should be capable to reduce the crippling disadvantages of data transmission and image storage. In the research paper, the novel image compression technique is proposed which is based on the spatial domain and quite effective for the compression of images. However, the performance of the proposed methodology is compared with the conventional compression techniques (Joint Photographic Experts Group) JPEG and set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) using the evaluation metrics compression ratio and peak signal to noise ratio. It is evaluated that Integer wavelets with binary plane technique is more effective compression technique than JPEG and SPIHT as it provided more efficient quality metrics values and visual quality

Study and Importance of Fencing Guardrail for High Ways

Guardrail, fixed to lessen the sternness of run-off-road clash, is the most frequent traffic security system found on California State Highways. Guardrail may forward a sinful vehicle and disperse force from the collision in some, but not for all cases depending on the series of events throughout the conflict. Even though guardrail is itself a permanent object, it may lessen conflict sternness in situations where it is firm that remarkable the guardrail is less severe than striking fixed objects or slopes behind the guardrail. The road traffic safety (RTS) management system is focal point on serious injury and death due to road mishap and always tries to reduce. Many methodology and technology is developing to reduce accidental effect on human body as well as vehicle. The aim of paper is to study the importance and functions of the Guardrail

Traditional and ethnozoological practices by tribals in rural areas of alirajpur, dhar, barwani district of madhya pradesh, india

Introduction: Ethnobiological knowledge is very ancient in Indian tribes. Ethnobiology describes how people of a particular culture and region make use of indigenous plants and animals. India has an immense faunal, floral, as well as cultural diversity with many ethnic communities who are primarily dependent on the traditional medicinal system for their primary health care. Present ethnozoological study related to the use of different chordates and non-chordates animals and their derived products as medicines by the tribes and rural people of Alirajpur, Dhar, and Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh, India (Bhil, Bhilala, Tadwi, and Bharia) which is well known for its very rich biodiversity. The field survey was conducted from July 2015 to Dec 2020 by performing interviews through structured questionnaires with 33 informants (21 men and 12 women), who provided information regarding therapeutic uses of animals. A total of 18 animals and animal products were recorded and they are used for different ethnomedical purposes, including Paralysis, TB, Asthma, Rheumatism, Cough and Cold, Cancer, Allergy, Fit, Piles, Leprosy, Dysentery, Fever, Diarrhoea, Weakness, and Antidote. The zoo therapeutic knowledge was mostly based on non-chordate and chordate animals, but some protected species like the Peafowl (Pavocristatus) were also mentioned as important medicinal resources. We would suggest that this kind of neglected traditional knowledge should be included in the strategies of conservation and management of faunistic resources in the investigated area

Disruptions in Open Source Platforms: A Natural Experiment with COVID-19 Pandemic

    Get PDF
Disruptions to open source software platforms can occur for various reasons such as natural disasters, cyber-attacks etc., that are beyond the control of open source workers. As open source work relies primarily on voluntary contributions, any type of disruptions to the work routines of open source workers can lead to loss of productivity and cause delays in software production and releases. Currently, we do not have sufficient understanding about worker resilience or the effects of disruption on open source development. To understand the effects of disruption, data has been collected on open source production activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, an exemplar event, from January 1st 2020 to 7th April, 2020 from two different locations that had different lockdown policies. The results highlight the importance of disruptions in open source production environments and project management practises during crisis situations

Study of Ancient and Recent Methods of Green Buildings

This paper is based on a appraisal of study that explain special types of power proficient green buildings, construction of green building is an significant focal point of construction. A green building is with the intention of which uses best possible energy and puts smallest amount contact on atmosphere. Green building” is defined as “a building created with proposes and building development which considerably decrease or eradicate unenthusiastic force of buildings on the atmosphere and residents.” The green building is the building which employs not as much of energy, a reduced amount of water and by means of renewable possessions power is to be created and it is make use of for the residence. The Green building is a structure which contract with the different factors such as learning of water preservation, learn of power preservation building with predictable building with admiration to financial system is studied with the help of suitable case study. It also includes study of existing green building with ancient and recent methods with respect to energy saving, operating cost. The present study briefs the study and propose move toward for green building. A case study for compound typical weather is considered for design. Various alternatives for design stricture in stipulations of cost and energy economy with situation to conservative and non-conventional energy system have been predictable

In the field of Bhaishjya Kalpana, Sandhana Kalpas are regarded as very important due to their long self life, better absorption and efficacy. Process of Sandhana Kalpana should be carefully carried out with strict monitoring to avoid various problems that can be encountered during preparations. Draksharista is a popularly used preparation in the clinical practice. It is referred in various books and five such references are studied and compared here in order to get an idea, regarding the pharmaceutical and analytical aspects of them. Differences in the type and amount of sweetening substances, usage of fermentation initiator and minor variation in the ingredients make the study interesting to compare them. Less amount of sweetening substance initiated early fermentation and completion. This fact strongly suggests the importance of adding sweetening substances in small portions, when its quantity is very high in the preparation
