Spectral moments of the Wigner-Ville. Spectrum connection with the mean differential cepstrum and application to vibration signals of rotating machinery
The aim of this paper is to introduce some new techniques for the vibration analysis of rotating and reciprocating machinery
which take advantage of cyclostationarity. We focus our approach on the leading role played by the spectral moments and
cumulants of the Wigner-Ville spectrum. When expanded with respect to the angle variable, they provide a fine characterization of transients. When expanded w.r.t the frequency variable, they lead to the definition of the mean differential cepstrum
which is used in the vibration inverse problem. Examples of applications are dicussed for the detection of faults and diagnosis
of machines.
Monitoring of complex gear system by synchronous cepstral analysis
This article shows the possibilities offered by the use of energy cepstrum for gear box vibratory diagnosis . A model of the signals
generated by an accelerometric sensor will be established on which the theoretical expression of the energy cepstrum is partially
calculated . This will make it possible to develop a detection tool which we will nether be affected by the signal amplitude, nor the
noise to signal ratio nor the position of the sensor . It is shown that the use of an angular sampled signal enables the cepstrum to
preserve its full resolution and allows the realization of synchronous averaging to isolate each gear mesh . Some applications of

The social function of the feeling and expression of guilt
Humans are uniquely cooperative and form crucial short-and long-term social bonds between individuals that ultimately shape human societies. The need for such intense cooperation may have provided a particularly powerful selection pressure on the emotional and communicative behaviours regulating cooperative processes, such as guilt. Guilt is a social, other-oriented moral emotion that promotes relationship repair and pro-sociality. For example, people can be more lenient towards wrongdoers who display guilt than towards those who do not. Here we examined the social consequences of guilt in a novel experimental setting with pairs of friends differing in relationship quality. Pairs of participants took part in a cooperative game with a mutual goal. We then induced guilt in one of the participants and informed the other participant of their partnerâs wrongdoing. We examined the outcome using a dictator game to see how they split a joint reward. We found that guilty people were motivated to repair wrongdoing regardless of friendship. Observing guilt in others led to a punishment effect and a victim of wrongdoing punished close friends who appeared guilty more so than acquaintances. We suggest, therefore, that guilt has a stronger function between close friends as the costs of relationship breakdown are greater. Relationship context, therefore, is crucial to the functional relevance of moral emotions
Les écarts constatés sont faibles et restent inférieurs le plus souvent à ± 0,5 dB.In this paper, the results of sound power level measurements using a fixed points intensity measuring technique are compared to the measurements obtained when using sweeping intensity measuring technique, under differents experimental conditions. The differences are very small and in most cases stay within ± 0,5 dB

A self consistent approach to the deformation properties of silver cadmium and indium isotopes
The aim of this paper is to describe reading practices in the era of cyberspace and hypertextuality. We will start by defining what is a text. Then, we will describe the actual cultural context in which our reading practices are realized. This context will be defined in terms of a double transformation, technological and cultural. Finally, we will look at the problems posed to reading by the new forms of texts. We will also look at the metaphor of navigation regularly used to describe reading in cyberspace
