Interaction of quasilocal harmonic modes and boson peak in glasses
The direct proportionality relation between the boson peak maximum in
glasses, , and the Ioffe-Regel crossover frequency for phonons,
, is established. For several investigated materials . At the frequency the mean free path of the
phonons becomes equal to their wavelength because of strong resonant
scattering on quasilocal harmonic oscillators. Above this frequency phonons
cease to exist. We prove that the established correlation between
and holds in the general case and is a direct consequence of
bilinear coupling of quasilocal oscillators with the strain field.Comment: RevTex, 4 pages, 1 figur
Exceptional collections and D-branes probing toric singularities
We demonstrate that a strongly exceptional collection on a singular toric
surface can be used to derive the gauge theory on a stack of D3-branes probing
the Calabi-Yau singularity caused by the surface shrinking to zero size. A
strongly exceptional collection, i.e., an ordered set of sheaves satisfying
special mapping properties, gives a convenient basis of D-branes. We find such
collections and analyze the gauge theories for weighted projective spaces, and
many of the Y^{p,q} and L^{p,q,r} spaces. In particular, we prove the strong
exceptionality for all p in the Y^{p,p-1} case, and similarly for the
Y^{p,p-2r} case.Comment: 49 pages, 6 figures; v2 refs added; v3 published versio
High-statistics measurement of the pion form factor in the rho-meson energy range with the CMD-2 detector
We present a measurement of the pion form factor based on e+e- annihilation
data from the CMD-2 detector in the energy range 0.6<sqrt(s)<1.0 GeV with a
systematic uncertainty of 0.8%. A data sample is five times larger than that
used in our previous measurement.Comment: 18 pages, 10 figures. Added comparison with KLOE measurement, minor

Study of the Process in the C.M.Energy Range 1.05-1.38 GeV with CMD-2
The process has been studied with the CMD-2 detector
using about 950 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.05 to
1.38 GeV. The cross section exceeds the expectation based on the contributions
of the rho(770), omega(782) and phi(1020) mesons only.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, uses elsart.cls, submitted to Physics Letters
Measurement of (1020) meson leptonic width with CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M Collider
The (1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined
analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance () studied with the CMD-2 detector at
the VEPP-2M collider. The following value has been obtained:
keV.
The meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also
recalculated: , , , .Comment: 14 pages, 3 figure
Measurement of and between 3.12 and 3.72 GeV at the KEDR detector
Using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider, we have measured
the values of and at seven points of the center-of-mass
energy between 3.12 and 3.72 GeV. The total achieved accuracy is about or
better than at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of
about . At the moment it is the most accurate measurement of in
this energy range
Study of the Process e+ e- --> omega pi0 --> pi0 pi0 gamma in c.m. Energy Range 920--1380 MeV at CMD-2
The cross section of the process e+ e- --> omega pi0 --> pi0 pi0 gamma has
been measured in the c.m. energy range 920-1380 MeV with the CMD-2 detector.
Its energy dependence is well described by the interference of the rho(770) and
rho'(1450) mesons decaying to omega pi0. Upper limits for the cross sections of
the direct processes e+ e- --> pi0 pi0 gamma, eta pi0 gamma have been set.Comment: Accepted for publication in PL
New precise determination of the \tau lepton mass at KEDR detector
The status of the experiment on the precise lepton mass measurement
running at the VEPP-4M collider with the KEDR detector is reported. The mass
value is evaluated from the cross section behaviour around the
production threshold. The preliminary result based on 6.7 pb of data is
MeV. Using 0.8 pb of data
collected at the peak the preliminary result is also obtained:
eV.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures; The 9th International Workshop on Tau-Lepton

Frequency behavior of Raman coupling coefficient in glasses
Low-frequency Raman coupling coefficient of 11 different glasses is
evaluated. It is found that the coupling coefficient demonstrates a universal
linear frequency behavior near the boson peak maximum and a superlinear
behavior at very low frequencies. The last observation suggests vanishing of
the coupling coefficient when frequency tends to zero. The results are
discussed in terms of the vibration wavefunction that combines features of
localized and extended modes.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figure
Search for narrow resonances in e+ e- annihilation between 1.85 and 3.1 GeV with the KEDR Detector
We report results of a search for narrow resonances in e+ e- annihilation at
center-of-mass energies between 1.85 and 3.1 GeV performed with the KEDR
detector at the VEPP-4M e+ e- collider. The upper limit on the leptonic width
of a narrow resonance Gamma(R -> ee) Br(R -> hadr) < 120 eV has been obtained
(at 90 % C.L.)
