    Buku cerita bergambar ini mengangkat beberapa cerita rakyat dari Kalimantan Timur yang berjudul “Asal Mula Nama Kota Balikpapan, Sungai Kerbau yang Keramat, dan Asal Mula Anak Sungai Mahakam” dengan menggunakan gambar bergaya manga. Dengan perancangan buku kumpulan cerita rakyat bergambar ini diharapkan dapat mendidik anak-anak melalui pesan moral yang terkandung dalam isi cerita dan anak-anak bisa mengenali dan memahami unsur-unsur kebudayaan daerah Kalimantan Timur, agar memiliki moral dan pengetahuan tentang budaya bangsa yang baik mengingat anak-anak sekarang banyak yang terpengaruh moral bangsa lain dan budaya lain yang kurang cocok untuk orang seperti bangsa Indonesia

    Theory of Electromagnetic Wave Transmission through Metallic Gratings of Subwavelength Slits

    We present FDTD calculations for transmission of light and other electromagnetic waves through periodic arrays of slits in a metallic slab. The results show resonant, frequency dependent, transmittance peaks for subwavelength widths of the slits which can be up to a factor of ten with respect to those out of resonance. Although our conclusions agree with previous work by Lezec and Thio as regards both the magnitude of the enhancement and the lack of contribution of surface plasmon polaritons of the metal surface to this effect, we derive an interpretation from a theory that deals with emerging beam- Rayleigh anomalies of the grating, and with Fabry-Perot resonances of the perforated slab considered as an effective medium.Comment: 12 pages 3 figure

    Tendency of spherically imploding plasma liners formed by merging plasma jets to evolve toward spherical symmetry

    Three dimensional hydrodynamic simulations have been performed using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) in order to study the effects of discrete jets on the processes of plasma liner formation, implosion on vacuum, and expansion. The pressure history of the inner portion of the liner was qualitatively and quantitatively similar from peak compression through the complete stagnation of the liner among simulation results from two one dimensional radiationhydrodynamic codes, 3D SPH with a uniform liner, and 3D SPH with 30 discrete plasma jets. Two dimensional slices of the pressure show that the discrete jet SPH case evolves towards a profile that is almost indistinguishable from the SPH case with a uniform liner, showing that non-uniformities due to discrete jets are smeared out by late stages of the implosion. Liner formation and implosion on vacuum was also shown to be robust to Rayleigh-Taylor instability growth. Interparticle mixing for a liner imploding on vacuum was investigated.     The Need for Testing—The Exercise Challenge Test to Disentangle Causes of Childhood Exertional Dyspnea

    Exertional dyspnea is a common symptom in childhood which can induce avoidance of physical activity, aggravating the original symptom. Common causes of exertional dyspnea are exercise induced bronchoconstriction (EIB), dysfunctional breathing, physical deconditioning and the sensation of dyspnea when reaching the physiological limit. These causes frequently coexist, trigger one another and have overlapping symptoms, which can impede diagnoses and treatment. In the majority of children with exertional dyspnea, EIB is not the cause of symptoms, and in asthmatic children it is often not the only cause. An exercise challenge test (ECT) is a highly specific tool to diagnose EIB and asthma in children. Sensitivity can be increased by simulating real-life environmental circumstances where symptoms occur, such as environmental factors and exercise modality. An ECT reflects daily life symptoms and impairment, and can in an enjoyable way disentangle common causes of exertional dyspnea

    Low-cost hyperspectral imaging system: Design and testing for laboratory-based environmental applications

    The recent surge in the development of low-cost, miniaturised technologies provides a significant opportunity to develop miniaturised hyperspectral imagers at a fraction of the cost of currently available commercial set-ups. This article introduces a low-cost laboratory-based hyperspectral imager developed using commercially available components. The imager is capable of quantitative and qualitative hyperspectral measurements, and it was tested in a variety of laboratory-based environmental applications where it demonstrated its ability to collect data that correlates well with existing datasets. In its current format, the imager is an accurate laboratory measurement tool, with significant potential for ongoing future developments. It represents an initial development in accessible hyperspectral technologies, providing a robust basis for future improvements

    Theory of extraordinary optical transmission through subwavelength hole arrays

    We present a fully three-dimensional theoretical study of the extraordinary transmission of light through subwavelength hole arrays in optically thick metal films. Good agreement is obtained with experimental data. An analytical minimal model is also developed, which conclusively shows that the enhancement of transmission is due to tunneling through surface plasmons formed on each metal-dielectric interfaces. Different regimes of tunneling (resonant through a ''surface plasmon molecule", or sequential through two isolated surface plasmons) are found depending on the geometrical parameters defining the system.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

    Anomalous broadening of the spin-flop transition in the reentrant spin-glass phase of La2x_{2-x}Srx_xCuO4_4 (x=0.018x=0.018)

    The magnetization in a lightly doped La2x_{2-x}Srx_xCuO4_4 (x=0.018x=0.018) single crystal was measured. Spin-flop transition was clearly observed in the hole doped antiferromagnetically ordered state under increasing magnetic fields perpendicular to the CuO2_2 plane. In the spin-glass phase below 25K, the spin-flop transition becomes broad but the step in the magnetization curve associated with the transition remains finite at the lowest temperature. We show in this report that, at low temperature, the homogeneous antiferromagnetic order is disturbed by the re-distribution of holes, and that the spatial variance of the local hole concentration around x=0.018x=0.018 increases.Comment: to be published to Physical Review
