Psychologists Collaborating With Clergy

If a patient adheres to religious values and practices, should the treating psychologist get input from a clergyperson? How frequent is clergy-psychologist collaboration? What obstacles impede such collaboration? An exploratory survey questionnaire was sent to 200 clergy, 200 psychologists interested in religious issues, and 200 psychologists selected without regard to religious interests or values. Four themes were assessed: types of collaborative activities, frequency of collaboration, obstacles to collaboration, and ways to enhance collaboration. Strategies for promoting clergy-psychologist collaboration include challenging unidirectional referral assumptions, building trust through proximity and familiarity, and considering the importance of shared values and beliefs

Enhancement of plasticity in Ti-based metallic glass matrix composites by controlling characteristic and volume fraction of primary phase

In this study, Ti-based metallic glass matrix composites with high plasticity have been developed by controlling characteristic and volume fraction of primary phase embedded in the glass matrix. By careful alloy design procedure, the compositions of ß/glass phases, which are in metastable equilibrium have been properly selected, therefore the mechanical properties can be tailored by selecting the alloy compositions between the composition of ß and glass phases. The relation between the compressive yield strength and volume fraction of ß phase is well described using the rule of mixtures

Perancangan Dan Pembuatan Adapter Penghubung Keyboard IBM PS/2 Dengan Port USB Personal Computer

Universal Serial Bus (USB) as a new interface especially on Personal Computer (PC) has become a standard for interfacing many devices to PC such as printer, scanner, mouse, webcam, etc. In this paper, a device that can be recognized by USB host and communicate through USB port correctly was developed. It has been implemented by making an adapter therefore IBM PS/2 keyboard could be recognized and operated in a USB environment. The device used a PDIUSBD12 USB interface IC which handle USB protocol and an AT89C2051 microcontroller which handle all incoming or outgoing data from and to PDIUSBD12 or keyboard. The device has been tested and proven capable of handling enumeration process and transfer data from keyboard to PC via a USB port. Although the device didn\u27t support all functions of the keys, but the main keys worked normally on pressing one key or even combination keys. The paper describes a face tracking and pose estimation system by using a webcamera. A 3D wireframe face model was used in conjunction with a feature tracking method of Lucas-Kanade. A set of face feature points was tracked in every video frame by using Lucas-Kanade method. A fully projective method was depployed for face pose estimation. This application was built using Microsoft Visual C 6.0®%2C Microsoft® DirectShow®%2C Intel Performance Library and Open Source Computer Vision (OpenCV) Library. The application has been implemented and able to track the face movement in real time (30 frames/second)%2C using webcam with the resolution of 320?240 pixel/frame on PC Pentium III/533 MHz. The system is prospective to be used for human-computer interaction applications as well as face expression recognition system
