A cost minimization model was used to find the minimum cost and environmental friendly management practices(MCEFMP). Use of MCEFMP in cattle production seems to be the most cost effective means of reducing water pollution with a marginal cost of $1200 in comparison to use of MCEFMP on other agricultural operations.Environmental Economics and Policy,

Extended Apriori for association rule mining: Diminution based utility weightage measuring approach

    Get PDF
The field of Association rule mining is a dynamic area for innovation of knowledge through which uncountable procedures have been expounded. Recently, by including significant components viz. value (utility), volume of items (weight) etc, the researchers have enhanced the quality of association rule mining for industry by bringing out the association designs. In this note, a proficient methodology has been put forward based on weight factor and utility for effective digging out of important association rules. At the very beginning, a traditional Apriori algorithm has been utilized that make use of the anti-monotone property which states that if n items are recurring continuously then n-1 items should also recur by which the scores of weightage(W-Gain), utility(U-Gain) and diminution(D-sum), are derived at. Eventually, we derive a subset of important association rules through which EUW-Score is generated. The tentative outcome demonstrates the effectiveness of the methodology in generating high utility association rules that is profitably used for the business improvement

Today world is facing a number of challenges affecting the availability, accessibility, use and sustainability of its freshwater resources. Water is the most vital resource for living beings because there is no life without water as cellular activities never occur. Water is essential for the socio-economic development of human beings. Industrialization, urbanization, population explosion and green revolution have deteriorated the various sources of water. Keeping these points in mind, this study is designed to comparatively analyze the water quality of river Asan at upstream and downstream sites

EFFECT OF VARIABLE CANT ANGLE ON SWEEPBACK WING

Winglets are commonly used drag-reduction and fuel-saving technologies in today’s aviation. The primary purpose of the winglets is to reduce the lift-induced drag, therefore improving fuel efficiency and aircraft performance. Traditional winglets are designed as fixed devices attached at the tips of the wings. However, because they are fixed surfaces, they give their best lift-induced drag reduction at a single design point. In this work, we propose the use of variable cant angle winglets which could potentially allow aircraft to get the best all-around performance (in terms of lift-induced drag reduction), at different angle-of-attack values. This paper describes a XFLR 3-dimensional winglets analysis that was performed on a wing of NACA2412 cross sectional airfoil. The wing has span 2.40 m, root chord 0.180 m, tip chord 0.110 m, sweep angle 5 degree and taper ratio 0.556 and for a winglet NACA 0024 cross-sectional airfoil was considered of max thickness 24 percent at 30 percent chord, max camber 0 percent at 0 percent chord. The present study shows effects of wing without winglet, wing with winglet at cant angle 30, 60, 90. The results obtained from the analysis demonstrate that by carefully adjusting the cant angle, the aerodynamic performance can be improved

Serious adverse events and fatal outcomes following COVID-19 vaccination in the UK: lessons for other countries

Vaccines have taken the centre stage in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, and in reducing hospitalisation and associated mortality. Countries around the world are heavily dependent on the successful rollout of their vaccination programmes to open up the societies and re-start their economies. However, the success of any vaccine programme, to a large extent, depends upon the efficacy and safety of the vaccines. Given that UK has been way ahead in vaccinating its population, is considered a successful model compared to other countries in Europe and elsewhere and has a yellow card reporting system for adverse events, we use UK as an example to understand the side effects and fatal outcomes following vaccinations. Our results show that AstraZeneca seems to be underperforming in terms of overall reporting of minor adverse events, serious incidents and fatal outcomes following vaccination. The risk of serious anaphylactic reaction and fatal outcome was 1.36 and 1.17 times more in case of AstraZeneca vaccine when compared with Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. The analysis has implications for vaccine policies and programmes both at nation-state and global levels

Doctors on duty: the real-life heroes during pandemic: Your opinion matters!!!

Background: Data for front-line health-care workers, risk of disease is limited so as the resources available. Although inspiring stories on doctors fighting against COVID-19-19 were covered we are still unaware of the challenges at ground level. The present study throws light on it and provides way through towards resolving the issues. Objectives:1. To assess the perceptions of the doctors towards the process of COVID-19-19 crisis management. 2.To identify the challenges and recommend solutions based on their views, suggestions. Methods: A cross sectional study on perception of doctors (94) involved in COVID-19 duty was conducted during July to September 2020, with the help of pre-validated semi-structured questionnaire through online google survey form. The questionnaire had demographic details, views on before, during and after the COVID-19 duty along with 4 open ended questions on their good and bad experiences, problems & suggestions. Descriptive statistics for quantitative & thematic analysis for qualitative data was used. Results: Nonresponse rate was 26%, mean age 27.55 year. Majority were from clinical departments (78%). 42% felt that training was proper, 60% adequate PPE kit, 52.6% were aware of management strategy, 86% stressed,82% found difficulties in communication. 42% were provided proper quarantine facility yet, 58% faced discrimination. Few themes emerged under challenges like lack of resources & training, stress & burnout, for which patient sensitization, refresher training, psychological & administrative support was suggested. Conclusion: Although COVID-19 pandemic has impacted life of doctors in either way, the challenges could easily be tackled by the recommended simple solutions

Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine, is momentous in audience of worldwide on virtue of its holistic approach of life. Rasaushadhis in Ayurveda have a wide range of therapeutic utility due to their prolonged shelf life, finer particles size, being tasteless, odourless, minimum dose, quick action, makes them more effective and unique. With proper anupana, herbo-mineral formulations act effectively in a variety of pathological conditions. Jwara is considered as Rogadhipati i.e., most serious and king of all diseases in which the mind, sense organs and the body all are affected (Dehendriya mana santapakara). Chandrahasa Rasa (CR) is an unique herbo mineral Kharaliya Rasayana mentioned in Vaidya Chintamani of 16thAD constituting 14 ingredients with 5 bhavana dravyas which is solely indicated in Ashta vidha Jwara and 13 Sannipataja Jwara. Physical test shows CR is Greenish Brown in colour with pH 4.56±0.10 and Mean particle size of CR is 639.8 nm. XRD study compared with 2? angle and JCPDF standards and confirms that CR is a compound of Metacinnabar in cubic crystal system, Sulphur in Orthorhombic crystal system, Arsenic di sulphide and Sodium hydroxide borate hydrate are Monoclinic crystal system.
