b --> s g g decay in the two and three Higgs doublet models with CP violating effects

    Get PDF
We study the decay width and CP-asymmetry of the inclusive process b--> s g g (g denotes gluon) in the three and two Higgs doublet models with complex Yukawa couplings. We analyse the dependencies of the differential decay width and CP-asymmetry to the s- quark energy E_s and CP violating parameter \theta. We observe that there exist a considerable enhancement in the decay width and CP asymmetry is at the order of 10^{-2}. Further, it is possible to predict the sign of C_7^{eff} using the CP asymmetry.Comment: 15 pages, 7 Figures (required epsf style

Testing Higgs models via the H±WZH^\pm W^\mp Z vertex by a recoil method at the International Linear Collider

In general, charged Higgs bosons H±H^\pm appear in non-minimal Higgs models. The H±WZH^\pm W^\mp Z vertex is known to be related to the violation of the global symmetry (custodial symmetry) in the Higgs sector. Its magnitude strongly depends on the structure of the exotic Higgs models which contain higher isospin SU(2)LSU(2)_L representations such as triplet Higgs bosons. We study the possibility of measuring the H±WZH^\pm W^\mp Z vertex via single charged Higgs boson production associated with the W±W^\pm boson at the International Linear Collider (ILC) by using the recoil method. The feasibility of the signal e+eH±Wνjje^+e^-\to H^\pm W^\mp \to \ell \nu jj is analyzed assuming the polarized electron and positron beams and the expected detector performance for the resolution of the two-jet system at the ILC. The background events can be reduced to a considerable extent by imposing the kinematic cuts even if we take into account the initial state radiation. For a relatively light charged Higgs boson whose mass mH±m_{H^\pm} is in the region of 120-130 GeV <mH±<mW+mZ< m_{H^\pm} < m_W+m_Z, the H±WZH^\pm W^\mp Z vertex would be precisely testable especially when the decay of H±H^\pm is lepton specific. The exoticness of the extended Higgs sector can be explored by using combined information for this vertex and the rho parameter.Comment: 22 pages, 23 figure

Nonstandard order parameters and the origin of CP violation

    Get PDF
The consideration of chirality-preserving 2-fermion order parameters may shed new light on the strong CP problem and the breakdown of flavor symmetries. We describe two situations, one having the standard KM picture for weak CP violation and another having new sources of weak CP violation.Comment: 12 pages, no figure

Higgs-photon associated production at eeˉe\bar{e} colliders

We present complete analytical expressions for the amplitudes of the process eeˉHγe\bar{e}\rightarrow H\gamma. The calculation is performed using nonlinear gauges, which significantly simplifies both the actual analytical calculation and the check of its gauge invariance. After comparing our results with a previous numerical calculation, we extend the range of Higgs masses and center of mass energies to those appropriate to LEP 200 and a future linear collider.Comment: To appear in PRD. 18 pages latex, uses REVTEX; 5 postscript figure

Texture of Yukawa coupling matrices in general two-Higgs-doublet model

We discuss possible parallel textures of the Yukawa coupling matrices in the generaltwo-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). In those textures the flavor changing neutral currentsare naturally suppressed. Motivated by a phenomenologically successful texturewith four texture zeros in the standard model, we propose a predictive ansatz for the Yukawa coupling matrices with the same texture in the general 2HDM. Compared with the six texture-zero based ansatz proposed by Cheng and Sher, it is in a better agreement with the data of quark mixings and CP violation. The four texture-zero based ansatz predicts a different hierarchy in the Yukawa coupling matrix elements. As a consequence, in the lepton sector, the related Yukawa couplings are less constrained by the experimental upper bound of μeγ\mu\to e\gamma, which allows significantly larger predictions for other processes. The contributions from neutral scalar interactions to the lepton number violation decay modes 123\ell\to \ell_{1}\ell_{2}\ell_{3} are calculated in both ansatz. It is shown that the predictions from the four texture-zero based ansatz could be two order of magnitude greater than that from the six texture-zero based one. The branching ratio of μ3e\mu\to 3e and τ3μ\tau\to 3\mu can reach 7.5×10177.5 \times 10^{-17} and 1.3\tiems 10^{-10} respectively. The predicted ratio of Br(μ3e)/Br(τ3e)Br(\mu\to 3e)/Br(\tau\to 3e) is also larger and almost parameter independent. Those differences make the two ansatz to be easily distinguished by the future experiments.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figure

We study the decay width and CP asymmetry of the inclusive process b--> s g (g denotes gluon) in the multi Higgs doublet models with complex Yukawa couplings, including next to leading QCD corrections. We analyse the dependencies of the decay width and CP asymmetry on the scale \mu and CP violating parameter \theta. We observe that there exist an enhancement in the decay width and CP asymmetry is at the order of 10^{-2}.Comment: 11 pages, 8 Figure

Exclusive Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^- decay in two Higgs doublet model

Rare Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^- decay is investigated in framework of general two Higgs doublet model, in which a new source of CP violation exists (model III). The polarization parameter, CP asymmetry and decay width are calculated. It is shown that CP asymmetry is a very sensitive tool for establishing model III.Comment: 16 pages, 3 figures, LaTeX formatte

Direct CP-asymmetry in Inclusive Rare B-decays in 2HDM

    Get PDF
The direct CP-asymmetry in the inclusive BXdγB \to X_d \gamma and BXde+eB \to X_d e^+ e^ - decays is investigated in the two-Higgs doublet extension of the Standard Model (2HDM). The investigation is performed in the lowest non-vanishing order of the perturbation theory using the existing restrictions on the 2HDM parameters space. It is shown that the direct CP-asymmetry in the BXdγB \to X_d \gamma decay can deviate significantly from the Standard Model predictions. In the presence of only one source of CP-violation (the CKM matrix weak phase) aCP(BXdγ)a_{CP}(B \to X_d \gamma) can have the sign opposite to that in the SM. The new source of CP-violation can make aCP(BXdγ)|a_{CP}(B \to X_d \gamma)| arbitrary small (unlike the SM case) and hence unmeasurable. Quantitatively, the obtained results suffer from the uncertainty of the choice of renormalization scale. As for the BXde+eB \to X_d e^+ e^ - rate asymmetry, its renormalization scale dependence in the lowest non-vanishing order does not allow to conclude if this quantity is efficient for testing New Physics beyond the Standard Model.Comment: 16 pages including 2 figure

The Neutron Electric Dipole Moment and CP-violating Couplings in the Supersymmetric Standard Model without R-parity

We analyze the neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Model with explicit R-parity violating terms. The leading contribution to the EDM occurs at the 2-loop level and is dominated by the chromoelectric dipole moments of quarks, assuming there is no tree-level mixings between sleptons and Higgs bosons or between leptons and gauginos. Based on the experimental constraint on the neutron EDM, we set limits on the imaginary parts of complex couplings λijk{\lambda'}_{ijk} and λijk{\lambda}_{ijk} due to the virtual b-loop or tau-loop.Comment: final manuscript to appear in Phys.
