Anomalous charge transport in dodecaborides RB12 (R- Ho, Er, Tm, Lu)

High precision measurements of Hall RH(T) and Seebeck S(T) coefficients have been carried out for the first time on single crystals of rare earth dodecaborides RB12 (R - Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) at temperatures 1.8 - 300K. Low temperature anomalies associated with antiferromagnetic phase transitions in HoB12, ErB12 and TmB12 compounds have been detected on the temperature dependencies of RH(T) and S(T). The estimated values of charge carriers mobility allowed us to conclude about the appreciable influence of spin fluctuations on the charge transport in these compounds with B12 atomic clusters

A Subtlety of the Schr\"{o}dinger Picture Dynamics

We address a mathematical and physical status of exotic (like e.g. fractal) wave packets and their quantum dynamics. To this end, we extend the formal meaning of the Schr\"{o}dinger equation beyond the domain of the Hamiltonian. Złośliwy nerwiak osłonkowy szyi imitujący guz tarczycy — opis przypadku i przegląd piśmiennictwa. Praca z ośrodka referencyjnego w chirurgii endokrynologicznej

Malignant peripheral sheath tumors (MPNST) are rare soft tissue sarcomas originating from peripheral sheath cells. The main risk factor is neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1). The localization in the head and neck region is uncommon (up to 15% of all cases of MPNST) making the diagnosis difficult due to anatomical and clinical reasons. We present a case of 45-years-old female with the NF-1- linked MPNST localized in the thyroid region with clinical manifestation as a left thyroid tumour. The patient underwent surgery and adjuvant radiation therapy, remaining disease-free for 14 months after the treatment.Złośliwe nerwiaki osłonkowe (MPNST) należą do rzadko spotykanych mięsaków tkanek miękkich, wywodzących się z komórek osłonek nerwów obwodowych. Najważniejszym czynnikiem ryzyka ich rozwoju jest nerwiakowłókniakowatość typu 1 — choroba Recklinghausena. Umiejscowienie tych nowotworów w regionie głowy i szyi zdarza się rzadko, a postawienie prawidłowego rozpoznania jest trudne z przyczyn anatomicznych i skrytego przebiegu klinicznego omawianych guzów. W pracy prezentujemy przypadek 45-letniej kobiety z nerwiakowłókniakowatością typu 1 i złośliwym nerwiakiem osłonkowym umiejscowionym w rzucie lewego płata tarczycy. Chora przebyła zabieg wycięcia guza z następczą radioterapią. W trakcie 14-miesięcznej obserwacji po leczeniu nie stwierdzono nawrotu choroby

„Wolność kontrolowana” — o (nie)zależności tłumacza. Uwagi do polskiego przekładu powieści Petry Hůlovej Umělohmotný třípokoj

In 2002 in the Czech Republic a very interesting phenomenon occured — an unknown young woman named Petra Hůlová published a book, which caused the biggest literary stir of recent years. The writer’s debut Paměť mojí babičce received the Magnesia Litera Award in the Objev roku (Discovery of the Year) category and won the Lidove noviny’s poll as Kniha roku (Book of the Year). The prose of Umělohmotný třípokoj won the Jiry Orten Award. In 2008, Hulova was awarded with the Josef Škvorecký Award for the novel Stanice Tajga. In every book the writer seems different, which does not mean that she has no individual style. She is undoubtedly the most award‑winning young author today. She captured readers’ attention with the language used, which is a mixture of colloquial Czech and surprising similes. Quite unique is also the bravery of her storytelling. The book we are interested in, Umělohmotný třípokoj, is the fourth novel by the young writer. The Polish translator Julia Różewicz was awarded for the “New face” category of the literary magazine Literatura na Świecie for her translation of the Petra Hulova’s book (in Polish: Plastikowe M3, czyli czeska pornografia, Afera 2013). The goal of this study is to analyze the Czech author’s specific language and to later confront it with the language chosen for its “Czech mutation” by the translator, Julia Różewicz
