Integrating agent based information outsourcing techniques on data warehousing systems

In the last few years, information outsourcing has been a current activity in large companies. Information has become a regular trading commodity. It is a well-known fact that direct mailing companies acquire databases, or other kind of information sources, from other companies with the names and addresses of potential clients. Also, enterprise managers are frequently concerned with the current status and welfare of their clients and suppliers. Commonly, they appeal to specialized external information providers who may, under certain conditions, provide them with specific profiles about such potential commercial partners. In companies with effective means of information processing, it is very probable that such information needs may be directly satisfied from data stored and managed in the company's data warehouse. In this paper, we propose a protocol, based on economic principles, that enables the automatic negotiation of information transfer between the data warehouse systems of different companies. The protocol is designed to be used by a community of intelligent agents that is responsible for ensuring and supporting all the operational tasks related to information outsourcing among companies.(undefined

The purposes of this study were to develop a method to achieve basic kinematics parameters in sprint competition situation suitable for normal coaching usage. 1) A simple method 10 obtain the basics characteristics of speed running -strides length and strides frequency-over an entire 100m sprint running using only one simple video camera. 2) A procedure to apply in track and field without using any placing mark on the track, but try to use the natural marks placed on tracks (50m and 60m starts, and the 100m 11 Om and 400m hurdles marks, podiums, anemometers, publicity placards, jump boxes, etc ...). The results revealed similarities between the data obtain from the photo-cells and from one panning video camera, suggesting that this method used by us to calculate the distances is valid. In addition to being used for sprint this technique can also be used to buill speed curves in hurdling races, approach running of jumps (long, triple, pole vault) and javelin throwing

There are many factors that influence the success of the management of Customer Relationship Management systems projects (CRM). This article presents a systematic review of the literature of the past fifteen years, identifying and discussing the key success factors in CRM project management. The identified success factors were structured into four categories: strategic factors; operating factors; organizational factors; technological factors. The obtained results allow a better understanding of the success factors for the implementation of CRM projects and provide a theoretical basis for further work focused on the evaluation of such projects. This work has been supported by COMPETE: POCI-01-0145-FEDER-007043 and FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia within the Project Scope: UID/CEC/00319/2013

Parallel neural network recognition - a multi-agent system approach

    Get PDF
This paper presents and discusses the design and the development of a pattern recognition agent based on neural networks. This agent is part of an intelligent navigation system, providing it with the necessary vision abilities so that it can be placed on a strange environment in order to explore and recognise its structures and specificities. Although similar, the properties of the recognised objects change through time and according to each specific environment. The flexibility required by such recognition process was implemented by several pattern recognition agents. Each agent is based on a neural network and can be trained on-line by a parallel training algorithm to allow an effective real time utilisation
