    Oficina de capoeira ginga legal: ressocialização para dependentes químicos: Capoeira ginga legal workshop: resocialization for chemical dependents

    De acordo com a Organização Mundial da Saúde atualmente a drogadição é concebida como uma doença crônica e fatal. As práticas esportivas têm sido utilizadas como uma excelente ferramenta no tratamento dos dependentes químicos, objetivando a eliminação das toxinas, a ressocialização, o resgate da autoestima e melhoria do condicionamento físico. O projeto “Oficina de Capoeira Ginga Legal” foi criado em 2012, com o intuito de oferecer aulas de capoeira para crianças e adolescentes de baixa renda e estudantes da UNIFAL-MG, esse projeto se estendeu para a clínica de reabilitação em dependência química “Projeto Esperança em Cristo” (PROESC), localizado no município de Fama- MG, que atualmente conta com 150 pacientes em recuperação. O objetivo foi auxiliar no processo de desintoxicação e ressocialização dos pacientes internados, melhorando o condicionamento físico e mental deles, uma vez que, essas pessoas até então, estavam carentes de atividades físicas e recreativas. O projeto consistiu nas aulas de capoeira e musicalização que ocorreram uma vez por semana e tiveram a duração de 2 horas, onde foi proporcionado o aprendizado da capoeira, não só como arte, mas como instrumento de lazer. O projeto “Oficina de Capoeira Ginga Legal” atingiu os objetivos propostos, onde foi observado um aumento da autoconfiança e resgate da autoestima do público-alvo, além de um melhor condicionamento físico e mental. A interação e a socialização entre os voluntários do projeto e os que estão se recuperando possibilitaram discussões de questões acerca do público-alvo, servindo de instrumento para a promoção da igualdade, cooperação e a prática da cidadania

    Detecção de Helicobacter spp. em amostras de mucosa gástrica de cães assintomáticos e alterações histológicas associadas

    O presente estudo teve por objetivo correlacionar o número de bactérias espiraladas e as alterações histológicas da mucosa gástrica em cães de vida livre. Foram analisadas biopsias gástricas endoscópicas de 28 cães assintomáticos. Para análise histológica, foi realizada avaliação qualitativa, onde foram atribuídos escores de 0 a 3, considerando a densidade de bactérias espiraladas por campo (400x), a presença de células inflamatórias, o número de agregados linfoides e a existência de alteração degenerativa glandular. A prevalência de Helicobacter spp, identificado pela histologia (Carbol-Fucscina) e positividade no teste da urease, foi de 100%. Dos 28 cães, 18 (64,3%) receberam escore 3 e 10 (35,7%) o escore 2 para a densidade de bactérias. O infiltrado inflamatório predominantemente linfoplasmocitário foi de grau leve (escore 1) em 17 (60,7%) cães e moderado em 6 (21,4%) cães. Dos 28 cães, 14 (50%) receberam escore 1 para degeneração glandular e 9 (32,1%), o escore 0. As regiões do corpo e antro apresentaram maior número de resultados positivos à histopatologia. Apesar do número elevado de bactérias encontrado nas amostras analisadas, as alterações histológicas foram classificadas como de grau leve na maioria dos animais. A presença do Helicobacter spp. não parece estar relacionado com sintomatologia de gastrite.The objective of the present study was to establish a relationship between the number of spiral bacteria and gastric mucosa histological alterations in mongrel dogs. Endoscopic biopsies of 28 asymptomatic dogs were analyzed. Qualitative evaluation was performed for histological analysis, in which scores from 0 to 3 were attributed, considering the density of spiral bacteria per field (400x), presence of inflammatory cells, number of lymphoid aggregates and existence of gland degenerative alteration. The prevalence of Helicobacter spp., identified by hystological technique (Carbol – fuchsine) and positive urease test, was100%. Eighteen (64.3%) of the 28 dogs presented score 3, and 10 (35.7%0), score 2 for the density of bacteria. The inflammatory infiltrate, predominantly lymphocytic, was slight (score 1) in 17dogs (60.7%) and moderate in 6 (21.4%). From the 28 dogs, 14 (50%) scored 1 for glandular degeneration and 9 (32.1%) scored 0. The body and antrum regions presented the highest positive result to histopathology. Despite the high number of bacteria found in the analyzed samples, the histological alterations have been classified as slight in most of the animals. The presence of Helicobacter spp. apparently does not produces gastritis symptoms

    Gold nanoparticles inhibit steroid-insensitive asthma in mice preserving histone deacetylase 2 and NRF2 pathways

    Background: Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) can inhibit pivotal pathological changes in experimental asthma, but their effect on steroid-insensitive asthma is unclear. The current study assessed the effectiveness of nebulized AuNPs in a murine model of glucocorticoid (GC)-resistant asthma. Methods: A/J mice were sensitized and subjected to intranasal instillations of ovalbumin (OVA) once a week for nine weeks. Two weeks after starting allergen stimulations, mice were subjected to Budesonide or AuNP nebulization 1 h before stimuli. Analyses were carried out 24 h after the last provocation. Results: We found that mice challenged with OVA had airway hyperreactivity, eosinophil, and neutrophil infiltrates in the lung, concomitantly with peribronchiolar fibrosis, mucus production, and pro-inflammatory cytokine generation compared to sham-challenged mice. These changes were inhibited in mice treated with AuNPs, but not Budesonide. In the GCresistant asthmatic mice, oxidative stress was established, marked by a reduction in nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) levels and catalase activity, accompanied by elevated values of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), phosphoinositide 3-kinases δ (PI3Kδ) expression, as well as a reduction in the nuclear expression of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) in the lung tissue, all of which sensitive to AuNPs but not Budesonide treatment. Conclusion: These findings suggest that AuNPs can improve GC-insensitive asthma by preserving HDAC2 and NRF2

    Neurostimulation Combined With Cognitive Intervention in Alzheimer’s Disease (NeuroAD): Study Protocol of Double-Blind, Randomized, Factorial Clinical Trial

    Despite advances in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), there is currently no prospect of a cure, and evidence shows that multifactorial interventions can benefit patients. A promising therapeutic alternative is the use of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) simultaneously with cognitive intervention. The combination of these non-pharmacological techniques is apparently a safe and accessible approach. This study protocol aims to compare the efficacy of tDCS and cognitive intervention in a double-blind, randomized and factorial clinical trial. One hundred participants diagnosed with mild-stage AD will be randomized to receive both tDCS and cognitive intervention, tDCS, cognitive intervention, or placebo. The treatment will last 8 weeks, with a 12-month follow-up. The primary outcome will be the improvement of global cognitive functions, evaluated by the AD Assessment Scale, cognitive subscale (ADAS-Cog). The secondary outcomes will include measures of functional, affective, and behavioral components, as well as a neurophysiological marker (Brain-derived neurotrophic factor, BDNF). This study will enable us to assess, both in the short and long term, whether tDCS is more effective than the placebo and to examine the effects of combined therapy (tDCS and cognitive intervention) and isolated treatments (tDCS vs. cognitive intervention) on patients with AD.Clinical Trial Registration: www.ClinicalTrials.gov, identifier NCT02772185—May 5, 2016
