Off-Mass-Shell N Scattering and
We adapt the off-shell N amplitude of the Tucson-Melbourne three-body
force to the half-off-shell amplitude of the pion rescattering contribution to
near threshold. This {\em pion} rescattering contribution,
together with the impulse term, provides a good description of the data when
the half-off-shell amplitude is linked to the phenomenological invariant

Momentum and Coordinate Space Three-nucleon Potentials
In this paper we give explicit formulae in momentum and coordinate space for
the three-nucleon potentials due to and meson exchange, derived
from off-mass-shell meson-nucleon scattering amplitudes which are constrained
by the symmetries of QCD and by the experimental data. Those potentials have
already been applied to nuclear matter calculations. Here we display additional
terms which appear to be the most important for nuclear structure. The
potentials are decomposed in a way that separates the contributions of
different physical mechanisms involved in the meson-nucleon amplitudes. The
same type of decomposition is presented for the TM force: the

Performance analysis of an orbital angular momentum multiplexed amplify-and-forward radio relay chain with inter-modal crosstalk
The end-to-end spectral efficiency and bit error rate (BER) of an amplify-and-forward (AF) radio relay chain employing orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing is presented. The inherent divergence of a beam carrying OAM is overcome by means of a lens. Modelled and measured inter-modal crosstalk levels are incorporated into the analysis. The results show that an end-to-end spectral efficiency of up to 8 bits s−1 Hz−1 is achievable using four OAM modes to multiplex four parallel data streams over 20 hops, provided that the detrimental effects of inter-modal crosstalk are mitigated. The spectral efficiency is expected to scale further by using more OAM modes. The BER profile along the relay chain is analysed for each of the four OAM modes
Triton calculations with and exchange three-nucleon forces
The Faddeev equations are solved in momentum space for the trinucleon bound
state with the new Tucson-Melbourne and exchange three-nucleon
potentials. The three-nucleon potentials are combined with a variety of
realistic two-nucleon potentials. The dependence of the triton binding energy
on the cut-off parameter in the three-nucleon potentials is studied
and found to be reduced compared to the case with pure exchange. The
exchange parts of the three-nucleon potential yield an overall repulsive
effect. When the recommended parameters are employed, the calculated triton
binding energy turns out to be very close to its experimental value.
Expectation values of various components of the three-nucleon potential are

Off-shell Behavior of the Mixing Amplitude
We extend a recent calculation of the momentum dependence of the
mixing amplitude to the pseudoscalar sector. The
mixing amplitude is calculated in a hadronic model where the mixing is driven
by the neutron-proton mass difference. Closed-form analytic expressions are
presented in terms of a few nucleon-meson parameters. The observed momentum
dependence of the mixing amplitude is strong enough as to question earlier
calculations of charge-symmetry-breaking observables based on the on-shell
assumption. The momentum dependence of the amplitude is,
however, practically identical to the one recently predicted for
mixing. Hence, in this model, the ratio of pseudoscalar to vector mixing
amplitudes is, to a good approximation, a constant solely determined from
nucleon-meson coupling constants. Furthermore, by selecting these parameters in
accordance with charge-symmetry-conserving data and SU(3)-flavor symmetry, we
reproduce the momentum dependence of the mixing amplitude
predicted from chiral perturbation theory. Alternatively, one can use
chiral-perturbation-theory results to set stringent limits on the value of the

Analyzing power in nucleon-deuteron scattering and three-nucleon forces
Three-nucleon forces have been considered to be one possibility to resolve
the well known discrepancy between experimental values and theoretical
calculations of the nucleon analyzing power in low energy nucleon-deuteron
scattering. In this paper, we investigate possible effects of two-pion exchange
three-nucleon forces on the analyzing power and the differential cross section.
We found that the reason for different effects on the analyzing power by
different three-nucleon forces found in previous calculations is related to the
existence of the contact term. Effects of some variations of two-pion exchange
three-nucleon forces are investigated. Also, an expression for the measure of
the nucleon analyzing power with quartet P-wave phase shifts is presented.Comment: 11 pages including 2 eps figures, use epsfig.sty, to appear in Phys.

Sleep positioning systems for children and adults with a neurodisability: A systematic review
This is the author's accepted version.The final version is available from SAGE via the DOI in this record.Introduction: Sleep positioning systems are often prescribed as part of a 24-hour postural management programme for children and adults with neurodisabilities. In a search for evidence of effectiveness for children with cerebral palsy a recent Cochrane review found two randomised controlled trials. This review aims to appraise a broader set of studies including any neurological diagnosis and users of all ages to inform therapists about the quality of the evidence underlying practice. Method: A comprehensive search for all peer-reviewed studies that evaluated the use of sleep positioning systems was conducted in MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library databases, BNI, HMIC, PEDro, OTSeeker and clinical trials registries. Disability organisations, manufacturers and colleagues worldwide were also contacted. Titles were screened for relevance by two reviewers. Data were extracted into bespoke quantitative or qualitative forms by one reviewer and checked by a second. Findings were analysed into simple themes. Results: A total of 14 studies were eligible for inclusion; all were small and most were of low quality. Inferences of benefits cannot be made from the literature but also no harm was found. Conclusions: The body of evidence supporting practice remains small and mostly of low quality. Therapists should remain cautious when presenting the benefits to families.This review was supported financially by the Posture and Mobility Group who had no other input into the study. A New Treatment of 2N and 3N Bound States in Three Dimensions
The direct treatment of the Faddeev equation for the three-boson system in 3
dimensions is generalized to nucleons. The one Faddeev equation for identical
bosons is replaced by a strictly finite set of coupled equations for scalar
functions which depend only on 3 variables. The spin-momentum dependence
occurring as scalar products in 2N and 3N forces accompanied by scalar
functions is supplemented by a corresponding expansion of the Faddeev
amplitudes. After removing the spin degrees of freedom by suitable operations
only scalar expressions depending on momenta remain. The corresponding steps
are performed for the deuteron leading to two coupled equations.Comment: 19 page
