    El peso de la Educación Física en el horario escolar

    L’estudi dels nivells de pràctica d’activitat física ha anat cobrant més importància en les últimes dècades gràcies a la seva relació amb la salut. Per aquesta raó, l’àrea curricular d’Educació Física, així com l’esbarjo escolar, no poden quedar al marge del debat, conformant-se com espais apropiats per obtenir els nivells recomanats per organismes internacionals. Aquest article pretén oferir una visió sobre el pes que ha d’ocupar l’Educació Física en l’horari escolar, sostingut en els avenços recents produïts en el camp de la neurociència, relacionats amb els beneficis que produeix l’activitat física en les persones. Es destaca la importància d’aquesta matèria escolar per combatre el sedentarisme en la població escolar, apostant per una reconceptualització de l’horari en termes de temps i espai.The study of the levels of physical activity practice has become more relevant during the last decades due to its relation with health. For that reason, the curricular area of Physical Education, as well as school break, cannot be pushed to the sidelines, constituting appropriate spaces for achieving the levels recommended by international institutions. The article aims to provide an insight into the weight that Physical Education must have within the school timetable, supported by recent developments in the field of neuroscience, related to the benefits produced by physical activity in people. We conclude the importance of this curriculum area to battle sedentariness among students, betting on a reconceptualization of timetables in terms of time and space.El estudio de los niveles de práctica de actividad física ha ido cobrando mayor importancia en las últimas décadas debido a su relación con la salud. Por esta razón, el área curricular de Educación Física, así como el recreo escolar, no pueden quedar al margen del debate, conformándose como espacios apropiados para alcanzar los niveles recomendados por organismos internacionales. El artículo pretende ofrecer una visión sobre el peso que debe ocupar la Educación Física en el horario escolar, apoyado en los recientes avances producidos en el campo de la neurociencia, relacionados con los beneficios que la actividad física produce en las personas.     TIn this paper a wide analysis of bibliography related to the definition of sport initiation in the last decades is presented for this reason we have carried out a new view of the concept of games teaching in the early years from three points of view. First, teaching methods that have focused now on product, rather than on results. Second, teaching games concept has evolved from vertical to thematic approaches. Third, the context where sport is carried out, outlining leisure-health, education and competition-high performance. Finally we state that coexist as a result of linking this three points of view. One is more traditional, focusing games teaching on product, one sport and, in a certain way, on performance. On the other hand, second perspective is more focused on process, on thematic approaches and educational or leisure goals

    THE RELATIVE AGE EFFECT IN YOUTH SOCCER PLAYERS FROM SPAIN

    The purpose of this study was to identify the existence of Relative Age Effect (RAE) at youth level in both elite and amateur Spanish soccer clubs, and also to carry out an analysis providing with information on how this effect has evolved in recent years. We have obtained information on the youth teams of the 20 clubs belonging to the Spanish Professional Football League (LFP) in two separate seasons (2005-2006 and 2008-2009) as well as data on five youth academies belonging to amateur clubs. The collected data revealed an over- representation of players born in the first months of the selection year in all groups of analysis (Elite 2005-2006, Elite 2008-2009 and Amateurs), although only the Elite groups showed significant variations in birth-date distribution in relation to the Spanish population. The results showed a reduction in RAE from the 2005-2006 season to the 2008-2009 season. The following variables - playing position, the number of years each player has spent in their specific age group and the category of the team at each club were shown not to have influence on the extent of RA
