Physicochemical Properties and Catalytic Behavior of the Molecular Sieve SSZ-70
SSZ-70 is synthesized using 1,3-bis(isobutyl)imidazolium, 1,3-bis(cyclohexyl)imidazolium, and 1,3-bis(cycloheptyl)imidazolium structure directing agents (SDAs), and the solids obtained are characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), ^(29)Si magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR), electron microscopy, nitrogen and hydrocarbon adsorption, and thermogravimetric analyses. The physicochemical properties of SSZ-70 show that it is a new molecular sieve that has similarities to MWW-type materials. The catalytic behavior of SSZ-70 is evaluated through the use of the constraint index (CI) test. Distinct differences in the reactivity between Al-SSZ-70 and SSZ-25 (MWW) are observed and are the consequences of the structural differences between these two molecular sieves
Critical Phenomena at the Antiferromagnetic Phase Transition of Azurite
We report on high-resolution acoustic, specific-heat and thermal expansion
measurements in the vicinity of the antiferromagnetic phase transition at T_N =
1.88 K on a high-quality single crystal of the natural mineral azurite. A
detailed investigation of the critical contribution to the various quantities
at T_N is presented. The set of critical exponents and amplitude ratios of the
singular contributions above and below the transition indicate that the system
can be reasonably well described by a three-dimensional Heisenberg
antiferromagnet.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, proceedings of ICM 2012, JKP
Survey of LTE Downlink Schedulers Algorithms in Open Access Simulation Tools NS-3 and LTE-SIM
The LTE/LTE-A has become a catchphrase for research and lot of research are being conducted and carried out in LTE in various issues by various people. New tools are developed and introduced in the market to interpret the results of the new algorithms proposed by various people. Some tools are open access which are free to use but some tools are produced by the companies which are not open access. In this paper some of the open access simulation tools like LTE-Sim and NS-3 are analyzed and LTE downlink scheduler algorithms are simulated using those tools. In LTE systems, the downlink scheduler is an important component for radio resource management; hence in the context of LTE simulation, a study between the downlink scheduler models between the simulators are performed
Review of Person Re-identification Techniques
Person re-identification across different surveillance cameras with disjoint
fields of view has become one of the most interesting and challenging subjects
in the area of intelligent video surveillance. Although several methods have
been developed and proposed, certain limitations and unresolved issues remain.
In all of the existing re-identification approaches, feature vectors are
extracted from segmented still images or video frames. Different similarity or
dissimilarity measures have been applied to these vectors. Some methods have
used simple constant metrics, whereas others have utilised models to obtain
optimised metrics. Some have created models based on local colour or texture
information, and others have built models based on the gait of people. In
general, the main objective of all these approaches is to achieve a
higher-accuracy rate and lowercomputational costs. This study summarises
several developments in recent literature and discusses the various available
methods used in person re-identification. Specifically, their advantages and
disadvantages are mentioned and compared.Comment: Published 201
Gas hydrates distribution in the Shenhu Area, northern South China Sea: comparisons between the eight drilling sites with gas-hydrate petroleum system
The results of the first marine gas hydrate drilling expedition of Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GMGS-1) in northern continental slope of the South China Sea revealed a variable distribution of gas hydrates in the Shenhu area. In this study, comparisons between the eight sites with gas-hydrate petroleum system were used to analyze and re-examine hydrate potential. In the Shenhu gas hydrate drilling area, all the sites were located in a suitable low-temperature, high-pressure environment. Biogenic and thermogenic gases contributed to the formation of hydrates. Gas chimneys and some small-scale faults (or micro-scale fractures) compose the migration pathways for gas bearing fluids. Between these sites, there are three key differences: the seafloor temperatures and pressures; geothermal gradient and sedimentary conditions. Variations of seafloor temperatures and pressures related to water depths and geothermal gradient would lead to changes in the thickness of gas hydrate stability zones. Although the lithology and grain size of the sediments were similar, two distinct sedimentary units were identified for the first time through seismic interpretation, analysis of deep-water sedimentary processes, and the Cm pattern (plotted one-percentile and median values from grain-size analyses), implying the heterogeneous sedimentary conditions above Bottom Simulating Reflectors (BSRs). Based on the analyses of forming mechanisms and sedimentary processes, these two fine-grained sedimentary units have different physical properties. Fine-grained turbidites (Unit I) with thin-bedded chaotic reflectors at the bottom acted as the host rocks for hydrates; whereas, finegrained sediments related to soft-sediment deformation (Unit II) characterized by thick continuous reflectors at the top would serve as regional homogeneous caprocks. Low-flux methane that migrated upwards along chimneys could be enriched preferentially in fine-grained turbidites, resulting in the formation of hydrates within Unit I.However, overlying fine-grained sediments related to soft-sediment deformation would hinder the further migration of gases/fluids, causing the extremely low methane concentration in Unit I. Three of the eight sites with hydrates from recovered core samples were located within sedimentary Unit I, and the other five sites were not. Because, the most significant difference between the eight sites is the nature and type of sedimentary deposits above the BSRs, it is suggested therefore that sedimentary conditions are the crucial factor controlling the formation and occurrence of gas hydrates in the Shenhu gas hydrate drilling area, northern South China Sea

Distinct magnetic regimes through site-selective atom substitution in the frustrated quantum antiferromagnet CsCuClBr
We report on a systematic study of the magnetic properties on single crystals
of the solid solution CsCuClBr (0 x 4), which
include the two known end-member compounds CsCuCl and CsCuBr,
classified as quasi-two-dimensional quantum antiferromagnets with different
degrees of magnetic frustration. By comparative measurements of the magnetic
susceptibility () on as many as eighteen different Br concentrations,
we found that the inplane and out-of-plane magnetic correlations, probed by the
position and height of a maximum in the magnetic susceptibility, respectively,
do not show a smooth variation with x. Instead three distinct concentration
regimes can be identified, which are separated by critical concentrations
x = 1 and x = 2. This unusual magnetic behavior can be explained
by considering the structural peculiarities of the materials, especially the
distorted Cu-halide tetrahedra, which support a site-selective replacement of
Cl- by Br- ions. Consequently, the critical concentrations x (x)
mark particularly interesting systems, where one (two) halidesublattice
positions are fully occupied.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figure
The NLO QCD Corrections to Meson Production in Decays
The decay width of to meson is evaluated at the next-to-leading
order(NLO) accuracy in strong interaction. Numerical calculation shows that the
NLO correction to this process is remarkable. The quantum
chromodynamics(QCD)renormalization scale dependence of the results is obviously
depressed, and hence the uncertainties lying in the leading order calculation
are reduced.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures; references added; expressions and typos ammende
