Proposed Early Actions to Mitigate Climate Change in California
This document describes the Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) staff’s analysis and recommendations for discrete early action measures to reduce global warming emissions. These measures will become part of the State’s comprehensive strategy for achieving greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions under Assembly Bill 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 200
West Chester University Climate Action Plan: Carbon Neutral by 2025
WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT GREG WEISENSTEIN signed the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) in October 2010, pledging the University to a series of actions that will ultimately reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero. In doing so we joined more than 600 institutions in expressing our deep concern about global warming. More importantly, we accepted the challenge to provide leadership in our own community by “modeling ways to minimize global warming emissions, and by providing the knowledge and the educated graduates to achieve climate neutrality.” Since 2010 we have completed an inventory of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), completed a submission for STARS (Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System) and will be including Sustainability as a major theme in the University’s next strategic plan. In March 2011, the President approved the formation of University-wide committee to “guide the development and implementation of the comprehensive plan” required by the ACUPCC, and the Climate Action Planning Team (CAPT) was instituted in September 2011 to develop the University’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) (Appendix A: CAPT membership). What follows is the Plan West Chester University has developed for becoming climate neutral, including efforts to make sustainability and climate change part of the educational experience of all WCU students. Much challenging work remains, but West Chester University is proud to join institutions of higher education in this important work
ICAT’S work in the Dominican Republic
ICAT began working with the Dominican Republic in 2017. The initiative is partnering with the Dominican Republic National Council for Climate Change and the Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMDL). The project purpose is to support the country to develop a national level institutional framework for MRV of climate actions under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
EU-level technical guidance on adapting buildings to climate change : Best practice guidance
This document aims to: - Provide technical guidance on climate-adaptation measures at the building scale. These adaptation measures aim to be relevant for both new and existing buildings, across the different climatic zones of Europe. - Present adaptation solutions that reduce the most important identified climate risks that affect the built environment (as categorised by the EU Taxonomy). - Orientate stakeholders across the building industry to the actions they can take to improve building performance. This includes strategies for owners, operators, users, policy makers, engineers, architects and insurers. - Support the development and alignment of key EU policies

Supporting the EU’s approach to climate change:the discourse of the transnational media within the ‘Brussels Bubble’
Abstract: The Union’s global climate change policy has been widely seen as an expression of its normative power, where it is committed to act through multilateral frameworks in order to tackle the effects of changes in the climate and safeguard the future of people around the world. Internally, the EU’s approach to climate change is complemented by high levels of support from citizens. This article explores another internal source of support for the EU’s leadership in global climate change policy, namely the media. The focus here is on the transnational media’s reporting and coverage of the Copenhagen summit, which is widely considered to be one of the key points in the development of global climate change policy. The article shows that within the ‘Brussels bubble,’ the transnational media supported through its reporting the EU’s ambitious agenda in global climate change policy around the time of the Copenhagen summit
EU-level technical guidance on adapting buildings to climate change
This report constitutes the EU-level technical guidance on adapting buildings to climate change. The guidance collects and synthesises existing methods, specifications, best practices and guidance for climate-resilient buildings into a document that can provide practical advice for professionals and be referenced or used in different EU policy documents. In particular, the first four chapters of the guidance presented here provide 1) an overview of existing EU-level policies and standards relating to adaptation in buildings, 2) a summary of the current state of structural design building standards at a European and national level, relating to climate resilience in buildings, 3) an overview of the main elements of climate vulnerability and risk assessment for buildings, as well as 4) the main building blocks of existing approaches used to rate resilience of buildings. A separate report, the Best practice guidance on adapting buildings to climate change, provides guidance on how to enhance the resilience of buildings, including by presenting practical solutions and case studies
