Kulon Progo is a regency in the Special Province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which has a remarkable potentials to be developed into tourist attractions due to its wealth of natural and cultural resources. The ethno-ecotourism in Kulon Progo is a new form of sustainable tourism development that combines ethno tourism and ecotourism activities. This concept was currently developed by the World Bank which aims to position indigenous communities as the primary stakeholder of tourism development. Downstreaming is a clustering concept to increase the added value of a product by avoiding the sale of primary forms of natural resources. This study aims to identify the potential tourism activities that will emerge in the process of developing natural resource-based products that are processed into new tourism products through the touch of cultural resources. This descriptive-analytical study using the grounded theory approach. There are a number of data collection methods utilised to undertaken this research. The primary data were collected through a systematic observation, key informants, and in-depth interviews. The secondary data were collected through literature study by using tourism and economic surveys in Kulon Progo Regency. Collected data sets were analyzed by employing interactive model analysis, triangulation, and downstream product approaches with three variables: upstream, midstream, and downstream clusters. The findings indicated that the apparent potentials lie on the processing of natural resource-based products such as cocoa, pennywort leaves, palm sugar, dragon fruit, coffee, and tea, which can be developed into various types of derivative tourism products. The first cluster is upstream or the exploration phase. The tourism activities formed in it, for instance, are the introduction of the type of vegetation, the methods of planting, and the process of farming. The second cluster is the middle stream or the processing phase. The tourism activities are in the form of a workshop on processing raw materials into finished goods. The last cluster is downstream or the packaging phase. The tourism activities are in the forms of the consumption and packaging as souvenirs of the finished products

The research used experimental research, which referred to the results of pre-test and post-test scores of the group. The participants of the research were 275 students from three departments of Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada; Language, Arts, and Cultural Management department; Engineering department; as well as Economic and Business department academic year 2019/2020. This research describes topicalisation in formal and informal usage of English. The researcher examines three problems, which are 1) the types of thematic devices contributing in the building of topicalisation in English sentences in formal and informal conversation, 2) the patterns of syntactic modification in the structures that undergo topicalisation in English sentences in formal and informal conversation, and 3) the significance of topicalisation in English sentences in formal and informal conversation. In the analysis, the researcher utilized the theory of topicalisation by Fromkin (2000: 110), the theory of subject by Keenan and Comrie (1976: 306), and the theory of given and new information by Halliday (1985/1994: 298). The distributional method is utilized to categorize the data which are in form of sentences undergoing topicalisation, continued with separating elements of the sentences containing thematic devices by using immediate constituent dividing technique. Then, substitution and insertion techniques were ultilized to test the grammaticality of those sentences. In this research conclusion is drawn that from the seven types of thematic devices accommodating topicalisation of sentences, only four are utilized in the topicalisation in formal English sentences, i.e. 1) thematic fronting, 2) there construction, 3 cleft construction and 4) pseudo-cleft construction. In terms of informal English sentences, however, only 1) thematic fronting, and 2) there construction are utilized. Thematic fronting is the most accomodative device in topicalisation since it only requires repositioning of topic and no modification of the main clause. Pseudo-cleft construction, however, is complicated as it requires modification of the clause structure in the sentence. In communication, these thematic devices contribute in 1) emphasizing heavy information, (2) emphasizing potentially neglected information, and (3) emphasizing unmarked information
