The Jackiw-Pi model and its symmetries
The non-Abelian gauge model proposed by Jackiw and Pi, which generates an
even-parity mass term in three space-time dimensions, is revisited in this
letter. All the symmetries of the model are collected and established by means
of BRS invariance and Slavnov-Taylor identity. The path for the perturbatively
quantization of the Jackiw-Pi model, through the algebraic method of

Ontology-based explanation of classifiers
The rise of data mining and machine learning use in many applications has brought new challenges related to classification. Here, we deal with the following challenge: how to interpret and understand the reason behind a classifier's prediction. Indeed, understanding the behaviour of a classifier is widely recognized as a very important task for wide and safe adoption of machine learning and data mining technologies, especially in high-risk domains, and in dealing with bias.We present a preliminary work on a proposal of using the Ontology-Based Data Management paradigm for explaining the behavior of a classifier in terms of the concepts and the relations that are meaningful in the domain that is relevant for the classifier
Assessment of crash fire hazard of LH sub 2 fueled aircraft
The relative safety of passengers in LH2 - fueled aircraft, as well as the safety of people in areas surrounding a crash scene, has been evaluated in an analytical study. Four representative circumstances were postulated involving a transport aircraft in which varying degrees of severity of damage were sustained. Potential hazard to the passengers and to the surroundings posed by the spilled fuel was evaluated for each circumstance. Corresponding aircraft fueled with liquid methane, Jet A, and JP-4 were also studied in order to make comparisons of the relative safety. The four scenarios which were used to provide a basis for the evaluation included: (1) a small fuel leak internal to the aircraft, (2) a survivable crash in which a significant quantity of fuel is spilled in a radial pattern as a result of impact with a stationary object while taxiing at fairly low speed, (3) a survivable crash in which a significant quantity of fuel is spilled in an axial pattern as a result of impact during landing, and (4) a non-survivable crash in which a massive fuel spill occurs instantaneously
Analysis of Relationship between Training Load and Recovery Status in Adult Soccer Players: a Machine Learning Approach
Abstract
Periods of intensified training may increase athletes' fatigue and impair their recovery status. Therefore, understanding internal and external load markers-related to fatigue is crucial to optimize their weekly training loads. The current investigation aimed to adopt machine learning (ML) techniques to understand the impact of training load parameters on the recovery status of athletes. Twenty-six adult soccer players were monitored for six months, during which internal and external load parameters were daily collected. Players' recovery status was assessed through the 10-point total quality recovery (TQR) scale. Then, different ML algorithms were employed to predict players' recovery status in the subsequent training session (S-TQR). The goodness of the models was evaluated through the root mean squared error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient (r). Random forest regression model produced the best performance (RMSE=1.32, MAE=1.04, r = 0.52). TQR, age of players, total decelerations, average speed, and S-RPE recorded in the previous training were recognized by the model as the most relevant features. Thus, ML techniques may help coaches and physical trainers to identify those factors connected to players' recovery status and, consequently, driving them toward a correct management of the weekly training loads
On scale symmetry breaking and confinement in D=3 models
Within the framework of the gauge-invariant, but path-dependent, variables
formalism, we study the connection between scale symmetry breaking and
confinement in three-dimensional gluodynamics. We explicitly show that the
static potential profile contains a linear potential, leading to the
confinement of static charges. Also, we establish a new type of equivalence

Let’s tweet again? Social networks and literature achievement in high school students
The availability of cheap Wi-Fi internet connections has encouraged schools to adopt Web 2.0
platforms for teaching, with the intention of stimulating students’ academic achievement and
participation in school. Moreover, during the recent explosion of the SARS-CoV-2 crisis that
forced many countries to close schools (as well as offices and factories), the widespread
diffusion of these applications kept school systems going. Despite their widespread use as
teaching tools, the effect of adopting Web 2.0 platforms on students’ performance has never
been rigorously tested. We fill this gap in the literature by analyzing the impact of using
Twitter as a teaching tool on high school students’ literature skills. Based on a large-scale,
randomized controlled trial that involved 70 schools and about 1,500 students, we find that
using Twitter to teach literature has an overall negative effect on students’ average
achievement, reducing standardized test scores by about 25 percent of a standard deviation.

Some properties of the k-dimensional Lyness' map
This paper is devoted to study some properties of the k-dimensional Lyness'
map. Our main result presentes a rational vector field that gives a Lie
symmetry for F. This vector field is used, for k less or equal to 5 to give
information about the nature of the invariant sets under F. When k is odd, we
also present a new (as far as we know) first integral for F^2 which allows to
deduce in a very simple way several properties of the dynamical system
generated by F. In particular for this case we prove that, except on a given
codimension one algebraic set, none of the positive initial conditions can be a
