Effect of Sn addition on structural and superconducting properties in EuBa2Cu3O7-δ (Eu-123) compound was studied using XRD and SQUID magnetometric measurements. Transition process from normal to superconducting state was analyzed by the measurement of temperature change of the magnetic moment of the combined ZFC and the remanence technique beside the usual ZFC and FC ones. Samples of the nominal composition EuBa2Cu3-xSnxO7-δ with x ranging from 0.0 to 0.2 were prepared by the solid state reaction technique from Eu2O3, BaCO3, CuO and SnO2 precursors. The increasing Sn-content deteriorates the superconducting properties of the Sn doped samples

Abstract The magnetization methods were used in study of effect of Ag doping on the structural and superconducting parameters in two series of melted and highly textured samples of the system (YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ ) 1-x (Ag 2 O) x . The x concentration level of the first series ranged from 0 to 10 wt % and the second one from 0 to 3.6 wt % Ag 2 O. By means of the SQUID magnetization measurements the optimum Ag 2 O doping level ranged from 1.6 to 2.8 wt %. These methods led to optimization of conditions in preparation of single-domain samples. From the secondary precipitated CuO phase and from the appearance of Ag component the solubility limit of Ag in solid solution YBa 2 Cu 3−y Ag y O 7−y/2−δ was found

We studied the effects of Eu-Ba nonstoichiometry in two series of Eu1+xBa2xCu3O7δEu_{1+x}Ba_{2-x}Cu_3O_{7-δ} and Eu1xBa2+xCu3O7δEu_{1-x}Ba_{2+x}Cu_3O_{7-δ} samples on transition, structural, and magnetic properties. The samples with the nominal composition of 0≤x≤0.07 were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method from Eu2O3,Eu_2O_3, BaCO3,BaCO_3, and CuO precursors and sintered at 1050°C for 72 h in flowing oxygen. All the samples show the values of critical temperature TcT_c, volume density ρ, and maximum volume magnetization MmaxM_\text{max} higher than 90 K, 6.3 g cm3cm^{-3} and 104Am110^4 Am^{-1}, respectively, except for x = 0.07 samples. The Eu-Ba nonstoichiometry in the two series shows different effects on transport, magnetization hystereses, and intergrain properties of the samples

Effects of the Ru addition on the structural and superconducting properties of the Eu-123 system were studied. Samples of the nominal composition EuBa2Cu3xRuxO7δEuBa₂Cu_{3-x}Ru_{x}O_{7-δ} with x ranging from 0.0 to 0.7 were prepared by the solid state reaction technique from Eu₂O₃, BaCO₃, CuO and RuO₂ precursors at the temperature of 1050°C for 72 h in flowing oxygen and oxygen-annealed at 580°C for 24 h. X-ray diffraction data show the presence of another Ba-Eu-Ru-O phase, for x ≥ 0.03, in addition to the main superconducting phase. AC and DC magnetization characteristics were measured by the compensation method using the second-order SQUID gradiometer at ≈ 77 K and the QD SQUID magnetometer MPMS XL-7 at 20 K. The superconducting properties, TcT_{c}, ΔTcΔT_{c}, change only weakly up to x = 0.2, and magnetization M(H) deteriorates with an increasing Ru content

Effects of slight nonstoichiometry in Gd1+xBa2xCu3O7δGd_{1+x}Ba_{2-x}Cu_{3}O_{7-δ} compounds on superconducting and magnetic properties were studied. The series of single-phase samples of Gd1+xBa2xCu3O7δGd_{1+x}Ba_{2-x}Cu_{3}O_{7-δ} with composition deviation x from the stoichiometric value of 0 to 0.1 and to -0.1 were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method from Gd2O3Gd_{2}O_{3}, BaCO3BaCO_{3} and CuO precursors, sintered at the temperature of ~ 1000°C in flowing oxygen and annealed at 450°C for 24 h

In the paper, gehlenite amorphous microspheres were prepared by the flame synthesis of a powder precursor. In the first step, the precursor was prepared from a stoichiometric mixture of CaCO₃, Al₂O₃ and SiO₂ by a standard solid-state reaction method. Next, the precursor was sprayed into a CH₄-O₂ flame with the temperature of around 2200°C and molten droplets of synthetic gehlenite were rapidly cooled by distilled water. Structural and detailed magnetic properties were studied by the optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and QD SQUID magnetometer. The gehlenite microspheres show a complex magnetic behaviour that is a function of the temperature and the magnetic field, e.g. diamagnetism and paramagnetism at 300 K and 2 K, respectively

We present a new technological route of synthesis of V2O3V_{2}O_{3} nanocrystals based on mechanochemical reduction of V2O5V_{2}O_{5} with Na2SO3Na_{2}SO_{3} as a reductant, followed by low temperature vacuum annealing. The structural and magnetic properties of the V2O3V_{2}O_{3} nanocrystals were studied

Effects of Ru addition on magnetic properties of EuBa2Cu3xRuxO7δEuBa₂Cu_{3-x}RuₓO_{7-δ} compounds were studied. Samples of EuBa2Cu3xRuxO7δEuBa₂Cu_{3-x}RuₓO_{7-δ} with x from 0.00 to 0.70 were prepared by the solid state reaction technique from Eu₂O₃, BaCO₃, CuO and RuO₂ precursors. Temperature dependences of the zero-field cooled (ZFC) and the field cooled (FC) DC magnetic moment at low and high applied magnetic field Hₐ were measured by the QD SQUID magnetometer MPMS XL-7 and AC magnetization MAC(H)M_{AC}(H) curves at 77 K by the compensation method using the second-order SQUID gradiometer. The molar susceptibility χ of the samples was corrected to the effects of the sample holder and diamagnetism and χ* also was corrected to the temperature independent paramagnetic/diamagnetic contribution χTNχ^{TN} and fitted by the Curie-Weiss relation. The values of the Weiss temperature and the effective magnetic moment have been estimated at low and high value of applied magnetic field

Influence of Sn-substitution on structural, superconducting and magnetic properties of EuBa2Cu3O7-delta (Eu-123) compound was studied by X-ray diffraction and SQUID magnetic measurements. Transition process from normal to superconducting state and temperature dependences of zero field cooling and field cooling characteristics of magnetic moment and magnetization curves were measured and analysed. Samples of the nominal composition of EuBa2Cu3-xSnxO7-delta with x ranging from 0.0 to 1.5 were prepared by the solid state reaction technique. The increasing Sn-content decreases the volume of the main superconducting phase (Eu-123) and for higher Sn-contents, semiconducting tetragonal Eu3Ba3Cu6O14 (Eu-336) and Ba-Sn-O phases are the dominant ones
