The truth about freedom of choi
The actual is an academic analysis of the main features on the day has the triad
Society, State and Market. It emphasizes the market hegemony and offers an analytical recount
of the facts that go with, as the value chain internationalization, the knowledge society
rise, the translational enterprise powerful mark up, the new international social labour division,
the cultural reshape process, the social exclusion, the State subordination, among others.
The underlying outlining these issues is what the author calls “The truth under the free
to choose”, as a reference to the fact that the relationships between the Society and the State
are hindered by the Market with a heteronomous society involution as consequence
Derivation of asymptotic two-dimensional time-dependent equations for ocean wave propagation
A general method for the derivation of asymptotic nonlinear shallow water and
deep water models is presented. Starting from a general dimensionless version
of the water-wave equations, we reduce the problem to a system of two equations
on the surface elevation and the velocity potential at the free surface. These
equations involve a Dirichlet-Neumann operator and we show that all the
asymptotic models can be recovered by a simple asymptotic expansion of this
operator, in function of the shallowness parameter (shallow water limit) or the
steepness parameter (deep water limit). Based on this method, a new
two-dimensional fully dispersive model for small wave steepness is also
derived, which extends to uneven bottom the approach developed by Matsuno
\cite{matsuno3} and Choi \cite{choi}. This model is still valid in shallow
water but with less precision than what can be achieved with Green-Naghdi
model, when fully nonlinear waves are considered. The combination, or the
coupling, of the new fully dispersive equations with the fully nonlinear
shallow water Green-Naghdi equations represents a relevant model for describing
ocean wave propagation from deep to shallow waters
Powers opposed and intrinsic finks
Philosophers disagree over whether dispositions can be intrinsically finked or masked. Choi suggests that there are no clear, relevant differences between cases where intrinsic finks would be absurd and those where they seem plausible, and as a result rejects them wholesale. Here, I highlight two features of dispositional properties which, when considered together, provide a plausible explanation for when dispositions can be subject to intrinsic finks and when not
Does Health Insurance Status Affect Choice of Specialist?
Background: A demand-driven healthcare system has increasingly focused the importance of patient healthcare provider choice. Important reasons for promoting patient choice have been to reduce waiting times and to encourage competition between providers. This study aimed to determine the effect of health insurance status on the choice of specialist.
Subjects and Method: This was a case control study conducted at Sangkrah community health center, Surakarta, in January 2017. A sample of 164 mothers was selected by fixed disease sampling. The dependent variable was mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician. The independent variables were membership of the national health insurance, perceived benefit, perceived barrier, perceived severity, and family income. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multiple linear regression.
Results: Mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician was positively affected by perceived benefit (b= 0.89; 95% CI= 1.24 to 4.8; p= 0.009) and perceived seriousness (b= 0.92; 95% CI= 1.18 to 5.32; p= 0.016), but was negatively affected by perceived barrier (b= -0.77; 95% CI= 0.23 to 0.91; p= 0.026) and low family income (b= -0.66; 95% CI= 0.9 to 3.6; p= 0.067). The effect of health insurance member¬ship on mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician was statistically non significant.
Conclusion: The effect of health insurance membership on mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician is statistically non significant. Mother’s choice to visit a pediatrician is positively affected by perceived benefit and perceived seriousness, but is negatively affected by perceived barrier and low family income.

Connotation Frames: A Data-Driven Investigation
Through a particular choice of a predicate (e.g., "x violated y"), a writer
can subtly connote a range of implied sentiments and presupposed facts about
the entities x and y: (1) writer's perspective: projecting x as an
"antagonist"and y as a "victim", (2) entities' perspective: y probably dislikes
x, (3) effect: something bad happened to y, (4) value: y is something valuable,
and (5) mental state: y is distressed by the event. We introduce connotation
frames as a representation formalism to organize these rich dimensions of
connotation using typed relations. First, we investigate the feasibility of
obtaining connotative labels through crowdsourcing experiments. We then present
models for predicting the connotation frames of verb predicates based on their
distributional word representations and the interplay between different types
of connotative relations. Empirical results confirm that connotation frames can
be induced from various data sources that reflect how people use language and
give rise to the connotative meanings. We conclude with analytical results that
show the potential use of connotation frames for analyzing subtle biases in
online news media.Comment: 11 pages, published in Proceedings of ACL 201
A Critique of the Odious Debt Doctrine
Choi and Posner indicate that it is unclear whether the doctrine will improve the welfare of the population that might be subject to a dictatorship in terms of the odious debt doctrine. The traditional backward-looking defense of the odious debt doctrine, which suggests that the doctrine is costless because it releases a suffering population from an unjust debt, is seriously incomplete. Although in specific cases the benefits of loan sanctions may exceed the costs, the defenders of the doctrine have not made the empirical case that the net benefits are sufficiently high in the aggregate as to warrant routine application of loan sanctions to odious dictators. Therefore, in the absence of such a showing, there is no reason to think that the odious debt doctrine would be a desirable rule of international law
