Polarization Decomposition Algorithm for Detection Efficiency Enhancement

    Get PDF
In the paper, a new polarization decomposition of the optimal detection algorithm in the partially homogeneous environment is presented. Firstly, the detectors Matched Subspace Detector (MSD) and Adaptive Subspace Detector (ASD) are adopted to deal with detection problems in the partially homogeneous environment. Secondly, the fitness function with polarization parameters is equivalently decomposed to enhance time detection efficiency in the algorithm. It makes the multiplication number of the fitness function from square to a linear increase along with the increase in parameters. Simulation results indicate that the proposed decomposition is much more efficient than direct use of the fitness function

The research on the performance of linear ultrasonic motor under different temperature

Linear ultrasonic motor (LUSM) is a new type of driver. LUSM has many advantages, so it is taken seriously in aeronautics and astronautics. But, because of the deficiency of studies on the performance of LUSM in abnormal temperature, it’s necessary to do research on the performance of LUSM in different ambient temperature, to confirm whether it can work under abnormal temperature and how it works. In this research, we use V type LUSM (VLUSM) as the test object, owing to that VLUSM is one basic type of linear ultrasonic motor. When doing research, we pay close attention to the moment of force and the rotation rate of VLUSM, to discover how much they change in abnormal temperature environment. This research compares all datum partitioned by different temperature, and uses figures to show the tendency of those mechanical properties in abnormal temperature. At the same time, we explain the changing by means of theories. Finally, through detailed experimental demonstration, we believe that as the temperature rises, both moment of force and rotation rate of VLUSM increase, and we can also conclude that VLUSM can work normally under abnormal temperature environment

Low-lying excited states quantum entanglement and continuous quantum phase transitions: The criticality of a one-dimensional deconfined critical point

From the perspective of low-lying excited states, we study the deconfined quantum critical point (DQCP) in a one-dimensional quantum spin chain by means of the entanglement entropy and fidelity. Our results show that there is a close connection between the reconstruction of low-lying excitation spectra and the DQCP. The precise position of the critical point and its continuous nature is indicated by the singular behavior of the entanglement and fidelity of the first-excited state. Furthermore, compared with the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless type phase transitions, which also go beyond the scope of Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson paradigm, we attempt to reveal the essence of different types of symmetries on both sides of the DQPT from different manifestations of entanglement singularity

A Pilot Study of the Short Term Effectiveness and Safety of Amniotic Fluid in Severe Dry Eye Disease

The aim of this study was to evaluate if amniotic fluid (AF) mixed with artificial tears or soaked with a soft contact lens (SCL) as a treatment for severe dry eye disease (DED) would improve its signs or symptoms. In this retrospective pilot study 22 consecutive eyes of 11 patients with level 3 DED classified by DEWS 1 (Dry Eye WorkShop 1 2007), were included in the study between June 1 and September 30 in 2017. The study was conducted before DEWS II (Dry Eye WorkShop II 2017), which was published in October 2017. Therefore, DEWS II was not adopted for this study. Soft Contact Lens Acuvue Oasys of Plano with 8.8 base curve and 14 mm diameters by Johnson and Johnson were used to soak in FloGraft, which is an AF, for 30 minutes before placing in 12 eyes in Group 1. The contact lenses were placed in the left eye for 1 week. In Group 2, 10 eyes used 6 mL of artificial tears mixed with 0.25 mL of AF, which were applied to the eye four times a day for 1 week. No other eye medications were used. The eyes that were included had diffuse punctate staining and fast tear breaking times of <5 seconds with severe ocular symptoms (DEWS 1 level 3-4). Photos of fluorescein stain corneas before the treatment and 1 week after the treatment were used to compare the distribution of punctate staining as the objective outcomes for signs. Several questions adopted from the Ocular Surface disease Index (OSDI) about subjective symptoms before and after the treatment were asked, and documented on the chart. Improvement either in symptoms or signs or both of DED after 1 week at follow-up examination was recorded. Group 1, with SCL 46% had improvement after 1 week and Group 2, with artificial tears 50% had improvement after 1 week. Improvement means either symptom relief or comparatively decreased distribution of punctate staining on the cornea or both. No cases had inflammation, infection, irritation or blurred vision. We concluded that FloGraft as an AF can safely improve the symptoms or the signs of severe DED either as a mix with artificial tears or soaked with SCL by about 50% in this case series without evidence of irritation, inflammation or blurred vision in the short term

AbstractThis research focuses on topic of e-learning of Xiao-zhuan through digital Embodied games as a brand new way of creative learning method for Xiao-zhuan. TAM, Technology Acceptance Model, is the methodology in this research. Theory of perceived playfulness is also adopted to analyze the learning of Xiao-zhuan. Subjects in this research are 45 sophomores of the Department of Chinese Literature in National Taiwan Normal University. This research adopts questionnaire survey method, then refers to students’ paper scores on the test. The results of this research are as follows: Firstly, “Perceived Usefulness” has the significant influence on “Learning Effectiveness” and “Attitude toward Using the Embodied games”. Secondly, “Perceived Ease of Use” has the influence on “Perceived Playfulness”. Thirdly, “Perceived Playfulness” has the significant influence on “Attitude toward Using the Embodied games”
