Natural frequency sensitivity and influence analysis of TBM cutterhead system
TBM cutterhead works in complex working conditions, which endures the reverse impact forces of rock breakage, resulting in parts abnormal failure. Hence, the study of the system inherent characteristics is the basis for cutterhead dynamic design. Based on the established vibration model of a TBM split-cutterhead system, the modal method is used in the dynamic model and the natural frequency sensitivity expressions to system parameters are deduced. Then a cutterhead system of a water conservancy project in China is taking as an example, the natural frequency sensitivity with respect to the cutterhead support stiffness and mass parameters is obtained, and the influence of the two parameters on natural characteristics is analyzed. The results show that, the 10th-20th order natural frequencies are mainly affected by the cutterhead support stiffness and mass parameters, and the 9th-11th order frequencies are mainly influenced by cutterhead moment of inertia. Besides, with the change of stiffness and mass parameters, the cutterhead system natural frequency curves cut across each other and there are also many inflection points in the sensitivity curves, then the modal jumping occurs near these points. The parameter sensitive points were obtained from the results, which can provide reference for TBM cutterhead system parameters matching
Assessing ShortâTerm Impacts of Management Practices on N2O Emissions From Diverse Mediterranean Agricultural Ecosystems Using a Biogeochemical Model
Croplands are important sources of nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. The lack of both longâterm field measurements and reliable methods for extrapolating these measurements has resulted in a large uncertainty in quantifying and mitigating N2O emissions from croplands. This is especially relevant in regions where cropping systems and farming management practices (FMPs) are diverse. In this study, a processâbased biogeochemical model, DeNitrificationâDeComposition (DNDC), was tested against N2O measurements from five cropping systems (alfalfa, wheat, lettuce, vineyards, and almond orchards) representing diverse environmental conditions and FMPs. The model tests indicated that DNDC was capable of predicting seasonal and annual total N2O emissions from these cropping systems, and the model\u27s performance was better than the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change emission factor approach. DNDC also captured the impacts on N2O emissions of nitrogen fertilization for wheat and lettuce, of stand age for alfalfa, as well as the spatial variability of N2O fluxes in vineyards and orchards. DNDC overestimated N2O fluxes following some heavy rainfall events. To reduce the biases of simulating N2O fluxes following heavy rainfall, studies should focus on clarifying mechanisms controlling impacts of environmental factors on denitrification. DNDC was then applied to assess the impacts on N2O emissions of FMPs, including tillage, fertilization, irrigation, and management of cover crops. The practices that can mitigate N2O emissions include reduced or no tillage, reduced N application rates, lowâvolume irrigation, and cultivation of nonleguminous cover crops. This study demonstrates the necessity and potential of utilizing processâbased models to quantify N2O emissions from regions with highly diverse cropping systems
Object-oriented implementation of 3D DC adaptive finite-element method
In this paper, we introduced a clear object-oriented framework to implement the complicated adaptive procedure with C ++ programming language. In this framework, it consisted of the unstructured mesh generation, a-posterior error estimating, adaptive strategy, and the postprocessing. Unlike the procedure-oriented framework, which is commonly used in DC resistivity modeling with FORTRAN language, the object-oriented one, which is famous for its characteristic of encapsulation, could be used for a class of problems that would be executed by only making some changes on the user interface. To validate its flexibility, two synthetic DC examples were tested her

Downregulation of nuclear STAT2 protein in the spinal dorsal horn is involved in neuropathic pain following chronic constriction injury of the rat sciatic nerve
Regulation of gene transcription in the spinal dorsal horn (SDH) plays a critical role in the pathophysiology of neuropathic pain. In this study, we investigated whether the transcription factor STAT2 affects neuropathic pain and evaluated its possible mechanisms. A proteomic analysis showed that the nuclear fraction of STAT2 protein in the SDH was downregulated after chronic constriction injury of the rat sciatic nerve, which was associated with the development of neuropathic pain. Similarly, siRNA-induced downregulation of STAT2 in the SDH of naĂŻve rats also resulted in pain hypersensitivity. Using RNA-sequencing analysis, we showed that reduction of nuclear STAT2 after chronic constriction injury was associated with increased expression of microglial activation markers, including the class II transactivator and major histocompatibility complex class II proteins. In addition, siRNA-induced downregulation of STAT2 promoted microglial activation and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression in the SDH. Taken together, these results showed that chronic constriction injury caused downregulation of nuclear STAT2 in the SDH, which may result in microglial activation and development of neuropathic pain. Our findings indicate that restoration of nuclear expression of STAT2 could be a potential pathway for the treatment of neuropathic pain
Construction of dual Z-scheme g-C3N4/Bi4Ti3O12/Bi4O5I2 heterojunction for visible and solar powered coupled photocatalytic antibiotic degradation and hydrogen production: Boosting via Iâ/I3â and Bi3+/Bi5+ redox mediators
© 2020 Elsevier B.V. Inspired by waste to energy production, we report construction of dual Z-scheme advanced photocatalyst g-C3N4/Bi4Ti3O12/Bi4O5I2 heterojunction for coupled photocatalytic H2 evolution and degradation of antibiotics with high efficiency. The optimal CTBT-30 i.e (40 %g-C3N4/Bi4Ti3O12)/30 % Bi4O5I2 photocatalyst exhibited an excellent rate of H2 production under visible light (56.2 mmol gâ1 hâ1) along with simultaneous 87.1 % ofloxacin (OFL) removal. The H2 production rate is manifolds higher than in ultrapure water, sulfadiazine, rhodamine B and higher in hole scavenging triethanolamine. The interfacial intimate coupling with well-matched energy bands, foster the charge separation with effective Z-scheme transfer facilitated by I3â/Iâ and Bi3+/Bi5+ and redox mediators. The scavenging of majority of holes for direct oxidation or via [rad]OH radical formation leaves photogenerated electrons (at CB of g-C3N4 and Bi4O5I2) free for H2 evolution from H2O. Such work is promising for designing high photo-absorbing heterojunction photocatalysts for dual functionalities of clean energy production and environmental detoxification
Silicate glass matrix@Cu\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3eO/Cu\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3eV\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3eO\u3csub\u3e7\u3c/sub\u3e p-n heterojunction for enhanced visible light photo-degradation of sulfamethoxazole: High charge separation and interfacial transfer
© 2020 Elsevier B.V. Focusing on the treatment of pharmaceuticals contaminated water by advanced oxidation processes, a novel three dimensional silicate glass matrix (3-DG) coupled Cu2O/Cu2V2O7 p-n heterojunction was constructed by in-situ hydrothermal technique. The optimal Cu2O/Cu2V2O7 with 30 wt % Cu2V2O7 (CV-30) degrades 90.1 % sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in 60 min and nearly 100 % removal in 45 min via coupling with 3-DG. Under natural sunlight ⌠80 % SMX removal was observed. The internal electric field of the p-n junction facilitates the electron flow via the interface. 3-D silicate glass increases the visible light absorption dramatically via internal reflection which facilitates higher exposure for the junction and shortens the diffusion length of charge carriers. The effect of reaction parameters suggests that HCO3â and CO32â ions substantially escalate the SMX removal rate. Scavenging experiments and ESR probe suggest [rad]O2â as the main active species followed by [rad]OH radicals. The degradation products were detected by LCâMS analysis and a degradation mechanism was also predicted. The photocatalytic mechanism was explained in terms of the electron transfer facilitated by conventional transfer and Z-scheme. This strategy to construct such highly visible and solar active p-n heterojunctions will pave way for future opportunities for the degradation of recalcitrant pharmaceutical pollutants
Dyssynchrony Induced by Ventricular Preexcitation: A Risk Factor for the Development of Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Background: Significant left ventricular dysfunction may arise in right-sided accessory pathways with ventricular preexcitation in the absence of recurrent or incessant tachycardia. This has just been realized and not enough attention has been paid to it. Methods : In the last 7 years, we identified 12 consecutive children with a diagnosis of ventricular preexcitationâinduced dilated cardiomyopathy. This report describes the clinical and echocardiographic characteristics of the patients before and after ablation. Results: Dyssynchronous ventricular contraction was observed by M-mode echocardiography and two-dimensional strain analysis in all patients. The basal and middle segments of the interventricular septum became thin and moved similarly to an aneurysm, with typical bulging during the end of systole. The locations of the accessory pathways were the right-sided septum ( n =5) and the free wall ( n =7). Left ventricular synchrony was obtained shortly after ablation. The left ventricular function recovered to normal and the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter decreased gradually during follow-up. Conclusions: A causal relationship between ventricular preexcitation and the development of dilated cardiomyopathy is supported by the complete recovery of left ventricular function and reversed left ventricular remodeling after the loss of ventricular preexcitation. Preexcitation-related dyssynchrony was thought to be the crucial mechanism. Ventricular preexcitationâinduced dilated cardiomyopathy is an indication for ablation with a good prognosis
Sex Differences in Primary and Secondary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in China
Background: Despite improvements in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to combat cardiovascular disease (CVD) in recent decades, there are significant ongoing access gaps and sex disparities in prevention that have not been adequately quantified in China. Methods: A representative, cross-sectional, community-based survey of adults (aged â„45 years) was conducted in 7 geographic regions of China between 2014 and 2016. Logistic regression models were used to determine sex differences in primary and secondary CVD prevention, and any interaction by age, education level, and area of residence. Data are presented as adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% CIs. Results: Of 47 841 participants (61.3% women), 5454 (57.2% women) had established CVD and 9532 (70.5% women) had a high estimated 10-year CVD risk (â„10%). Only 48.5% and 48.6% of women and 39.3% and 59.8% of men were on any kind of blood pressure (BP)-lowering medication, lipid-lowering medication, or antiplatelet therapy for primary and secondary prevention, respectively. Women with established CVD were significantly less likely than men to receive BP-lowering medications (OR, 0.79 [95% CI, 0.65-0.95]), lipid-lowering medications (OR, 0.69 [95% CI, 0.56-0.84]), antiplatelets (OR, 0.53 [95% CI, 0.45-0.62]), or any CVD prevention medication (OR, 0.62 [95% CI, 0.52-0.73]). Women with established CVD, however, had better BP control (OR, 1.31 [95% CI, 1.14-1.50]) but less well-controlled low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR, 0.66 [95% CI, 0.57-0.76]), and were less likely to smoke (OR, 13.89 [95% CI, 11.24-17.15]) and achieve physical activity targets (OR, 1.92 [95% CI, 1.61-2.29]). Conversely, women with high CVD risk were less likely than men to have their BP, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and bodyweight controlled (OR, 0.46 [95% CI, 0.38-0.55]; OR, 0.60 [95% CI, 0.52-0.69]; OR, 0.55 [95% CI, 0.48-0.63], respectively), despite a higher use of BP-lowering medications (OR, 1.21 [95% CI, 1.01-1.45]). Younger patients (<65 years) with established CVD were less likely to be taking CVD preventive medications, but there were no sex differences by area of residence or education level. Conclusions: Large and variable gaps in primary and secondary CVD prevention exist in China, particularly for women. Effective CVD prevention requires an improved overall nationwide strategy and a special emphasis on women with established CVD, who have the greatest disparity and the most to benefit
