    DECENTRALIZED SOCIAL NETWORK SERVICE USING THE WEB HOSTING SERVER FOR PRIVACY PRESERVATION

    In recent years, the number of subscribers of the social network services such as Facebook and Twitter has increased rapidly. In accordance with the increasing popularity of social network services, concerns about user privacy are also growing. Existing social network services have a centralized structure that a service provider collects all the user’s profile and logs until the end of the connection. The information collected typically useful for commercial purposes, but may lead to a serious user privacy violation. The user’s profile can be compromised for malicious purposes, and even may be a tool of surveillance extremely. In this paper, we remove a centralized structure to prevent the service provider from collecting all users’ information indiscriminately, and present a decentralized structure using the web hosting server. The service provider provides only the service applications to web hosting companies, and the user should select a web hosting company that he trusts. Thus, the user’s information is distributed, and the user’s privacy is guaranteed from the service provider

    TRAO Survey of Nearby Filamentary Molecular clouds, the Universal Nursery of Stars (TRAO FUNS) I. Dynamics and Chemistry of L1478 in the California Molecular Cloud

    "TRAO FUNS" is a project to survey Gould Belt's clouds in molecular lines. This paper presents its first results on the central region of the California molecular cloud, L1478. We performed On-The-Fly mapping observations using the Taedeok Radio Astronomy Observatory (TRAO) 14m single dish telescope equipped with a 16 multi-beam array covering \sim1.0 square degree area of this region using C18^{18}O (1-0) mainly tracing low density cloud and about 460 square arcminute area using N2_{2}H+^{+} (1-0) mainly tracing dense cores. CS (2-1) and SO (3221)(3_{2}-2_{1}) were also used simultaneously to map \sim440 square arcminute area of this region. We identified 10 filaments by applying the dendrogram technique to the C18^{18}O data-cube and 8 dense N2_{2}H+^{+} cores by using {\sc FellWalker}. Basic physical properties of filaments such as mass, length, width, velocity field, and velocity dispersion are derived. It is found that L1478 consists of several filaments with slightly different velocities. Especially the filaments which are supercritical are found to contain dense cores detected in N2_{2}H+^{+}. Comparison of non-thermal velocity dispersions derived from C18^{18}O and N2_{2}H+^{+} for the filaments and dense cores indicates that some of dense cores share similar kinematics with those of the surrounding filaments while several dense cores have different kinematics with those of their filaments. This suggests that the formation mechanism of dense cores and filaments can be different in individual filaments depending on their morphologies and environments.Comment: 25 pages, 15 figures, accepted for publication in Ap

    Unlocking the hidden chemical space in cubic-phase garnet solid electrolyte for efficient quasi-all-solid-state lithium batteries

    Garnet-type Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) solid electrolytes (SE) demonstrates appealing ionic conductivity properties for all-solid-state lithium metal battery applications. However, LLZO (electro)chemical stability in contact with the lithium metal electrode is not satisfactory for developing practical batteries. To circumvent this issue, we report the preparation of various doped cubic-phase LLZO SEs without vacancy formation (i.e., Li = 7.0 such as Li7La3Zr0.5Hf0.5Sc0.5Nb0.5O12 and Li7La3Zr0.4Hf0.4Sn0.4Sc0.4Ta0.4O12). The entropy-driven synthetic approach allows access to hidden chemical space in cubic-phase garnet and enables lower solid-state synthesis temperature as the cubic-phase nucleation decreases from 750 to 400 ??C. We demonstrate that the SEs with Li = 7.0 show better reduction stability against lithium metal compared to SE with low lithium contents and identical atomic species (i.e., Li = 6.6 such as Li6.6La3Zr0.4Hf0.4Sn0.4Sc0.2Ta0.6O12). Moreover, when a Li7La3Zr0.4Hf0.4Sn0.4Sc0.4Ta0.4O12 pellet is tested at 60 ??C in coin cell configuration with a Li metal negative electrode, a LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2-based positive electrode and an ionic liquid-based electrolyte at the cathode|SE interface, discharge capacity retention of about 92% is delivered after 700 cycles at 0.8 mA/cm2 and 60 ??C

    Use of Magnetic Nanoparticles to Visualize Threadlike Structures Inside Lymphatic Vessels of Rats

    A novel application of fluorescent magnetic nanoparticles was made to visualize a new tissue which had not been detectable by using simple stereomicroscopes. This unfamiliar threadlike structure inside the lymphatic vessels of rats was demonstrated in vivo by injecting nanoparticles into lymph nodes and applying magnetic fields on the collecting lymph vessels so that the nanoparticles were taken up by the threadlike structures. Confocal laser scanning microscope images of cryosectioned specimens exhibited that the nanoparticles were absorbed more strongly by the threadlike structure than by the lymphatic vessels. Further examination using a transmission electron microscope revealed that the nanoparticles had been captured between the reticular fibers in the extracellular matrix of the threadlike structures. The emerging technology of nanoparticles not only allows the extremely elusive threadlike structures to be visualized but also is expected to provide a magnetically controllable means to investigate their physiological functions

    Induction FOLFIRINOX followed by stereotactic body radiation therapy in locally advanced pancreatic cancer

    IntroductionFOLFIRINOX (the combination of 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin) is the preferred systemic regimen for locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC). Furthermore, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is a promising treatment option for achieving local control in these patients. However, clinical outcomes in patients with LAPC treated using FOLFIRINOX followed by SBRT have not been clarified. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate clinical outcomes of induction FOLFIRINOX treatment followed by SBRT in patients with LAPC.MethodsTo this end, we retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with LAPC treated with induction FOLFIRINOX followed by SBRT in a single tertiary hospital. We evaluated overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), resection rate, SBRT-related adverse events, and prognostic factors affecting survival.ResultsFifty patients were treated with induction FOLFIRINOX for a median of 8 cycles (range: 3–28), which was followed by SBRT. The median OS and PFS were 26.4 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 22.4–30.3) and 16.7 months (95% CI: 13.0–20.3), respectively. Nine patients underwent conversion surgery (eight achieved R0) and showed better OS than those who did not (not reached vs. 24.1 months, p = 0.022). During a follow-up period of 23.6 months, three cases of grade 3 gastrointestinal bleeding at the pseudoaneurysm site were noted, which were managed successfully. Analysis of the factors affecting clinical outcomes revealed that a high radiation dose (≥ 35 Gy) resulted in a higher rate of conversion surgery (25% [8/32] vs. 5.6% [1/18], respectively) and was an independent favorable prognostic factor for OS in the adjusted analysis (hazard ratio: 2.024, 95% CI: 1.042–3.930, p = 0.037).ConclusionOur findings suggest that induction FOLFIRINOX followed by SBRT in patients with LAPC results in better survival with manageable toxicities. A high total SBRT dose was associated with a high rate of conversion surgery and could afford better survival

    Effect of intracoronary adenosine on ergonovine-induced vasoconstricted coronary arteries

    Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adenosine on epicardial coronary artery diameterduring ergonovine provocation testing.Methods: A total of 158 patients who underwent an ergonovine provocation test with intracoronaryadenosine injection between 2011 and 2014 were selected. Patients were divided into four groups basedon the severity of percent diameter stenosis following intracoronary ergonovine administration: Group 1,induced spasm < 50%; Group 2, 50–89%; Group 3, 90–99%; and Group 4, total occlusion.Results: Spasm positivity was observed in 44 (27.8%) cases in the study population (mean age, 57.4 ±± 10.7 years). Intracoronary adenosine increased the diameter of the ergonovine-induced epicardialartery by 0.51 ± 0.31 mm, 0.73 ± 0.39 mm, 0.44 ± 0.59 mm, and 0.01 ± 0.04 mm in Groups 1, 2, 3,and 4, respectively. Subsequent administration of nitroglycerin further increased vessel diameter by0.49 ± 0.28 mm, 0.93 ± 0.68 mm, 2.11 ± 1.25 mm, and 2.23 ± 0.69 mm in Groups 1, 2, 3, and 4,respectively. The ratios of adenosine-induced diameter to reference diameter were significantly lowerin patients with spasm positive results (0.68 [0.59–0.76] vs. 0.18 [0.00–0.41], p < 0.001 in the studypopulation; 0.60 [0.54–0.67] vs. 0.40 [0.27–0.44], p < 0.001 in Group 2) with the best cut-off value of0.505 (sensitivity 0.955, specificity 0.921).Conclusions: Intracoronary administration of adenosine dilated the ergonovine-induced vasoconstrictedepicardial coronary artery.     Evaluation of low-pass genome sequencing in polygenic risk score calculation for Parkinsons disease

    Background Low-pass sequencing (LPS) has been extensively investigated for applicability to various genetic studies due to its advantages over genotype array data including cost-effectiveness. Predicting the risk of complex diseases such as Parkinsons disease (PD) using polygenic risk score (PRS) based on the genetic variations has shown decent prediction accuracy. Although ultra-LPS has been shown to be effective in PRS calculation, array data has been favored to the majority of PRS analysis, especially for PD. Results Using eight high-coverage WGS, we assessed imputation approaches for downsampled LPS data ranging from 0.5 × to 7.0 × . We demonstrated that uncertain genotype calls of LPS diminished imputation accuracy, and an imputation approach using genotype likelihoods was plausible for LPS. Additionally, comparing imputation accuracies between LPS and simulated array illustrated that LPS had higher accuracies particularly at rare frequencies. To evaluate ultra-low coverage data in PRS calculation for PD, we prepared low-coverage WGS and genotype array of 87 PD cases and 101 controls. Genotype imputation of array and downsampled LPS were conducted using a population-specific reference panel, and we calculated risk scores based on the PD-associated SNPs from an East Asian meta-GWAS. The PRS models discriminated cases and controls as previously reported when both LPS and genotype array were used. Also strong correlations in PRS models for PD between LPS and genotype array were discovered. Conclusions Overall, this study highlights the potentials of LPS under 1.0 × followed by genotype imputation in PRS calculation and suggests LPS as attractive alternatives to genotype array in the area of precision medicine for PD.This work has been supported by Macrogen Inc.     The First Very Long Baseline Interferometry Image of 44 GHz Methanol Maser with the KVN and VERA Array (KaVA)

    We have carried out the first very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) imaging of 44 GHz class I methanol maser (7_{0}-6_{1}A^{+}) associated with a millimeter core MM2 in a massive star-forming region IRAS 18151-1208 with KaVA (KVN and VERA Array), which is a newly combined array of KVN (Korean VLBI Network) and VERA (VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry). We have succeeded in imaging compact maser features with a synthesized beam size of 2.7 milliarcseconds x 1.5 milliarcseconds (mas). These features are detected at a limited number of baselines within the length of shorter than approximately 650 km corresponding to 100 Mlambda in the uv-coverage. The central velocity and the velocity width of the 44 GHz methanol maser are consistent with those of the quiescent gas rather than the outflow traced by the SiO thermal line. The minimum component size among the maser features is ~ 5 mas x 2 mas, which corresponds to the linear size of ~ 15 AU x 6 AU assuming a distance of 3 kpc. The brightness temperatures of these features range from ~ 3.5 x 10^{8} to 1.0 x 10^{10} K, which are higher than estimated lower limit from a previous Very Large Array observation with the highest spatial resolution of ~ 50 mas. The 44 GHz class I methanol maser in IRAS 18151-1208 is found to be associated with the MM2 core, which is thought to be less evolved than another millimeter core MM1 associated with the 6.7 GHz class II methanol maser.Comment: 19 pages, 3 figure
