CP violation in the decay mode
Within the framework of Standard Model, the exclusive decay mode is studied. Although the usual short distance contribution is
small compared to the similar mode, the process offers the
possibility of studying the CP violation, a feature absent in the
counterpart.Comment: 11 page latex file including 2 ps figures. Typos corrected, minor

Massive Charged Scalar Quasinormal Modes of Reissner-N\"ordstrom Black Hole Surrounded by Quintessence
We evaluate the complex frequencies of the normal modes for the massive
charged scalar field perturbations around a Reissner-N\"ordstrom black hole
surrounded by a static and spherically symmetric quintessence using third order
WKB approximation approach. Due to the presence of quintessence, quasinormal
frequencies damp more slowly. We studied the variation of quasinormal
frequencies with charge of the black bole, mass and charge of perturbating
scalar field and the quintessential state parameter.Comment: 9 pages, 9 figures and one tabl
Quantum circuits for spin and flavor degrees of freedom of quarks forming nucleons
We discuss the quantum-circuit realization of the state of a nucleon in the
scope of simple symmetry groups. Explicit algorithms are presented for the
preparation of the state of a neutron or a proton as resulting from the
composition of their quark constituents. We estimate the computational
resources required for such a simulation and design a photonic network for its
implementation. Moreover, we highlight that current work on three-body
interactions in lattices of interacting qubits, combined with the
measurement-based paradigm for quantum information processing, may also be
suitable for the implementation of these nucleonic spin states.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, RevTeX4; Accepted for publication in Quantum

Quantized bulk fermions in the Randall-Sundrum brane model
The lowest order quantum corrections to the effective action arising from
quantized massive fermion fields in the Randall-Sundrum background spacetime
are computed. The boundary conditions and their relation with gauge invariance
are examined in detail. The possibility of Wilson loop symmetry breaking in
brane models is also analysed. The self-consistency requirements, previously
considered in the case of a quantized bulk scalar field, are extended to
include the contribution from massive fermions. It is shown that in this case
it is possible to stabilize the radius of the extra dimensions but it is not
possible to simultaneously solve the hierarchy problem, unless the brane
tensions are dramatically fine tuned, supporting previous claims.Comment: 25 pages, 1 figure, RevTe
Relation Between Chiral Susceptibility and Solutions of Gap Equation in Nambu--Jona-Lasinio Model
We study the solutions of the gap equation, the thermodynamic potential and
the chiral susceptibility in and beyond the chiral limit at finite chemical
potential in the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model. We give an explicit relation
between the chiral susceptibility and the thermodynamic potential in the NJL
model. We find that the chiral susceptibility is a quantity being able to
represent the furcation of the solutions of the gap equation and the
concavo-convexity of the thermodynamic potential in NJL model. It indicates
that the chiral susceptibility can identify the stable state and the
possibility of the chiral phase transition in NJL model.Comment: 21 pages, 6 figures, misprints are correcte
Evading the CKM Hierarchy: Intrinsic Charm in B Decays
We show that the presence of intrinsic charm in the hadrons' light-cone wave
functions, even at a few percent level, provides new, competitive decay
mechanisms for B decays which are nominally CKM-suppressed. For example, the
weak decays of the B-meson to two-body exclusive states consisting of strange
plus light hadrons, such as B\to\pi K, are expected to be dominated by penguin
contributions since the tree-level b\to s u\bar u decay is CKM suppressed.
However, higher Fock states in the B wave function containing charm quark pairs
can mediate the decay via a CKM-favored b\to s c\bar c tree-level transition.
Such intrinsic charm contributions can be phenomenologically significant. Since
they mimic the amplitude structure of ``charming'' penguin contributions,
charming penguins need not be penguins at all.Comment: 28 pages, 6 figures, published version. References added, minor

Twenty-six years of HIV science: an overview of anti-HIV drugs metabolism
From the identification of HIV as the agent causing AIDS, to the development of effective antiretroviral drugs, the scientific achievements in HIV research over the past twenty-six years have been formidable. Currently, there are twenty-five anti-HIV compounds which have been formally approved for clinical use in the treatment of AIDS. These compounds fall into six categories: nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NtRTIs), non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs), protease inhibitors (PIs), cell entry inhibitors or fusion inhibitors (FIs), co-receptor inhibitors (CRIs), and integrase inhibitors (INIs). Metabolism by the host organism is one of the most important determinants of the pharmacokinetic profile of a drug. Formation of active or toxic metabolites will also have an impact on the pharmacological and toxicological outcomes. Therefore, it is widely recognized that metabolism studies of a new chemical entity need to be addressed early in the drug discovery process. This paper describes an overview of the metabolism of currently available anti-HIV drugs.
The interspecific growth–mortality trade-off is not a general framework for tropical forest community structure
Resource allocation within trees is a zero-sum game. Unavoidable trade-offs dictate that allocation to growth-promoting functions curtails other functions, generating a gradient of investment in growth versus survival along which tree species align, known as the interspecific growth–mortality trade-off. This paradigm is widely accepted but not well established. Using demographic data for 1,111 tree species across ten tropical forests, we tested the generality of the growth–mortality trade-off and evaluated its underlying drivers using two species-specific parameters describing resource allocation strategies: tolerance of resource limitation and responsiveness of allocation to resource access. Globally, a canonical growth–mortality trade-off emerged, but the trade-off was strongly observed only in less disturbance-prone forests, which contained diverse resource allocation strategies. Only half of disturbance-prone forests, which lacked tolerant species, exhibited the trade-off. Supported by a theoretical model, our findings raise questions about whether the growth–mortality trade-off is a universally applicable organizing framework for understanding tropical forest community structure
