Contingency filtering scheme for on-line dynamic security assessment

    Get PDF
This research focused on developing an on-line contingency filtering scheme for dynamic security analysis.;Severity ranking and analysis of contingencies is thought of as a filtering process. The most severe cases are identified and ranked high on the contingency list while the non-severe cases are filtered out of the list. A cascade of progressively restrictive contingency filters is used. Three levels of filters are used. Each level of filter is divided into an inertial transient and post-inertial transient period. The first two levels of filters are very fast and approximate, but most conservative. The third level of filter uses exact analysis. The inertial transient filters capture cases which are potentially severe with respect to the inertial transient period. On the other hand, the post-inertial transient filters are designed to capture cases which are potentially severe with respect to the post-inertial transient period. These filters make use of the signatures left by the power system during the inertial transient period. The tool used in the analysis is a sparsity based direct method which is based on the exit point technique

Quench the Thirst: A Content Analysis of the Persuasive Techniques of UNICEF\u27s Tap Project

    Get PDF
This study analyzes the persuasive techniques utilized by UNICEF\u27s Tap Project. This water related campaign began in 2007 and since then has created four themes. These themes are: Dine out, Celebrity Tap, Facebook Push and Cellphone Challenge. The study finds that the videos employed by the Tap Project portray all six Facets of Effects. However, their usage was based on the message that was being delivered. That said, not all videos utilized all of the facets. This implies that an advertisement need not necessarily use all six Facets of Effects to be successful. The facet of association however, stood out to be the key facet in all of the videos analyzed. The consistent use of images, tagline, and logo created brand awareness and in this case campaign awareness. UNICEF\u27s advertisements for the Tap Project demonstrate the persuasive power of using different facets of effects. Other non-profit organizations can learn from their success how and when to strategically utilize facets of effects in campaigns

MINIMUM FLOW TIME SCHEDULE GENETIC ALGORITHM FOR MASS CUSTOMIZATION MANUFACTURING USING MINICELLS

    Get PDF
Minicells are small manufacturing cells dedicated to an option family and organized in a multi-stage configuration for mass customization manufacturing. Product variants, depending on the customization requirements of each customer, are routed through the minicells as necessary. For successful mass customization, customized products must be manufactured at low cost and with short turn around time. Effective scheduling of jobs to be processed in minicells is essential to quickly deliver customized products. In this research, a genetic algorithm based approach is developed to schedule jobs in a minicell configuration by considering it as a multi-stage flow shop. A new crossover strategy is used in the genetic algorithm to obtain a minimum flow time schedule

MEASUREMENT OF USERS ACCEPTANCE OF SELECTED FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

    Get PDF
Purpose: The goal of this study is to determine the degree to which users accept particular financial technology products and services by taking into account a variety of variables, including frequency of use, level of awareness, satisfaction, motivation for using fintech, satisfaction with that motivation, and behavioural intention to use fintech.   Theoretical Framework: There is relatively little literature now accessible to examine the degree of consumer acceptance of Financial Technology products and services. The field of financial technology still requires a lot of research and education, though.   Design/Methodology/Approach: A comprehensive evaluation of the literature served as the basis for the research design. Data gathering techniques include non-probability sampling (quota sampling). Users of particular Financial Technology products and services are queried using a standardised questionnaire to gather data. The 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh state were used as the source of the samples.   Findings: The data is analysed using techniques such as regression and Anova. The frequency of use, level of satisfaction, level of awareness, the intended use of the Fintech, the satisfaction with the intended use and the user's behavioural intention to use the Fintech all statistically significantly correlate with the user's level of acceptance in using the chosen Financial Technology products and services.   Research, Practical & Social implications:  This study determined the degree to which users accepted particular Financial Technology goods and services from diverse angles.   Originality/Value: This study aims to identify and quantify the effects of numerous variables on users' degree of acceptability of Fintech, including frequency of use, awareness and satisfaction levels, as well as the use of Fintech for specific purposes and behavioural intentions. Internet banking, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, mobile banking, electronic wallets, stock trading applications, peer-to-peer lending applications, crowd funding, cash deposit machines, ATMs, and credit rating applications are the 12 Financial Technology products used in the study

Development and validation of Ilaprazole in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form by UV spectroscopic method

    Get PDF
A simple UV spectroscopic method was developed and validated for the estimation of Ilaprazole in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form using Acetonitrile: ethanol (50:50) as solvent. The quantification was achieved at 307nm. Beers law was obeyed in the concentration range of 2-12 ?g/ml. The results of analysis have been validated statistically and recovery studies carried out in the range 80-120% to confirm the accuracy of the proposed method. The relative standard deviation was found to be less than 2.0%. The present result shows that the proposed method can be successfully implemented for estimation of Ilaprazole in bulk and its marketed formulations

A Review of Women Employees' Work-Life Balance Satisfaction with Reference to AP State Higher Academic Institutions

Purpose: The primary goal of this study is to assess how satisfied women employees in institutes of higher learning are with their balance between work and personal life. To better understand women employees' work-life balance satisfaction, this study looked at an array of aspects, including demographics, family-related factors, and other organizational and work-related procedures.   Theoretical framework: There is a wealth of empirical research available to assess the work-life balance satisfaction of female employees in academic institutions. Higher education has seen several advancements, such as the introduction of online learning systems, but more research is needed.   Design/Methodology/Approach: An evaluation of the exhaustive survey of the literature that was employed in the research design. A data collection tool, such as a questionnaire, is employed, as well as a non-probability sampling technique, such as the Snow ball sampling technique. A standard questionnaire is used to collect data. The information was gathered from respondents in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.   Findings: In order to analyze the data, various statistical techniques such as Anova, Regression, and the Cronbach's alpha test are used. Employees' delight with their work-life balance is influenced by their age, marital status, experience, career, and family size. The income and classification level of employees have an adverse effect on their work-life balance enjoyment.   Research, Practical &social implication: This study evaluated the work-life balance of female employees at higher education institutions from a number of perspectives.   Originality/Value: The objective of this research is to find and evaluate the impact of different viewpoints on female employees' work-life balance. A female employee's age as well as income level. Marital status, family size, designation, occupation and level of experience, job and family-related concerns, and working hours are all examined
