The CHA greatly appreciates the tremendous work that Michael Dawson and Lara Campbell have done as CHA Council Member responsible for the Garneau, Macdonald and Ferguson and the John Bullen, Clio and Albert B. Corey prizes respectively. The same is true of the jury members of all of our prizes. Many thanks!

Service Connectors Model: Staffing and Cost Projections

    Get PDF
The Mid-America Institute on Poverty (MAIP) has provided the information below as a guideline for understanding the likely staffing needs of a service connector model within Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) family developments. MAIP has undertaken this project as a means to share its practice-based research findings with policymaking entities engaged in creating programming and allocating resources for use by CHA tenants. There are two elements to the Service Connectors model as we understand it. One provides connections to existing resources both within and external to the Chicago Housing Authority to residents of Chicago Housing Authority family developments. These services may include outreach, information and referral and case management.Another and, significantly smaller part of the model, provides limited direct services to current residents of CHA family developments that are expected to move back into CHA developments after an initial relocation to make way for redevelopment. The staffing projection we developed is limited to the first element -- connections to existing resources (e.g. no direct services other than case management)

NH3-SCR catalysts for heavy-duty diesel vehicles: Preparation of CHA-type zeolites with low-cost templates

    Get PDF
Computer-assistance allows selecting the most adequate low-cost organic structure directing agents (OSDAs) for the crystallization of Al-rich CHA-type zeolites. The host-guest stabilization energies of tetraethylammonium (TEA), methyltriethylammonium (MTEA) and dimethyldiethylammonium (DMDEA), in combination with Na, were first theoretically evaluated. This “ab-initio” analysis reveals that two TEA show a serious steric hindrance in a cha cavity, whereas two MTEA would present excellent host-guest confinements. The synthesis of Al-rich CHA-type zeolites has been accomplished using TEA and MTEA. Electron diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy reveal large CHA-domains with narrow faulted GME-domains in the CHA-type material synthesized with TEA, confirming the better OSDA-directing roles of MTEA cations towards the cha cavity, in good agreement with DFT calculations. Cu-exchanged Al-rich CHA-type samples achieved with MTEA and TEA show excellent catalytic activity and hydrothermal stability for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with ammonia under conditions relevant for future heavy duty diesel conditions. This work has been supported by Umicore and by the Spanish Government-MCIU through RTI2018-101033-B-I00 (MCIU/AEI/FEDER, UE) and PID2020-112590GB-C21 (AEI/FEDER, UE). T.W. acknowledges financial support by the Swedish Research Council (Grant No. 2019-05465). E.B. acknowledges the Spanish Government-MCIU for a FPI scholarship (PRE2019-088360). P.F. thanks ITQ for a contract. The Electron Microscopy Service of the UPV is acknowledged for their help in sample characterization. The computations were performed on the Tirant III cluster of the Servei d'Informàtica of the University of Valencia

    緑茶の香気に関する研究(B. 生活科学)

    Get PDF
The head space vapors of four kinds of green tea (Sen-cha, Gyokuro, Ten-cha and Mat-cha) were analyzed by gas chromatography. The chromatographic pattern of Sen-cha was different from those of the others, although the separation of the volatile compounds of the vapor was not enough. Organoleptic detection of tea aroma was performed under the gas chromatographic conditions and then four kinds of odor were recognized. The denaturation of tea aroma was also studied. It was observed that the bad effect on the tea was multiplied by the conditions of high moisture and high temperature
