Pengaruh Iklan dan Endorser terhadap Brand Awareness Serta Dampaknya pada Keputusan Pembelian
The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of brand and endorser to brand awareness and its impact to purchase decision. The authors try to fulfill the research gap that exist, i.e. combining the brand and endorser in order to predict the brand awareness, that in our best knowledge still has less attention from researchers. Research samples a number of 100 respondents, were selected through non-random sampling technique, i.e. purposive sampling. Survey method was selected with questionnaire as a tool to gain primary data.
Based on the path analysis results that has ben conduct, it\u27s revealed two sub-structure path equation Y = 0,585X1 + 0,229X2 and Z = 0,237X1 + 0,108X2 + 0,510Y. Both brand and endorser, it\u27s significantly proven influencing of the brand awareness. The consumer purchase decision significantly formed by the brand awareness as the antecedent that formed by brand and endorser. This research revealed a gap that need to be revised in the next research. Endorser failed to become antecedent of consumer purchase decision. So it will be need a better measurement, to make sure that consumer purchase decision were also can be formed by endorser.  
Constraining nonlinear time series modeling with the metabolic theory of ecology
Forecasting the response of ecological systems to environmental change is a critical challenge for sustainable management. The metabolic theory of ecology (MTE) posits scaling of biological rates with temperature, but it has had limited application to population dynamic forecasting. Here we use the temperature dependence of the MTE to constrain empirical dynamic modeling (EDM), an equation-free nonlinear machine learning approach for forecasting. By rescaling time with temperature and modeling dynamics on a âmetabolic time step,â our method (MTE-EDM) improved forecast accuracy in 18 of 19 empirical ectotherm time series (by 19% on average), with the largest gains in more seasonal environments. MTE-EDM assumes that temperature affects only the rate, rather than the form, of population dynamics, and that interacting species have approximately similar temperature dependence. A review of laboratory studies suggests these assumptions are reasonable, at least approximately, though not for all ecological systems. Our approach highlights how to combine modern data-driven forecasting techniques with ecological theory and mechanistic understanding to predict the response of complex ecosystems to temperature variability and trends
Paramagnetic reentrant effect in high purity mesoscopic AgNb proximity structures
We discuss the magnetic response of clean Ag coated Nb proximity cylinders in
the temperature range 150 \mu K < T < 9 K. In the mesoscopic temperature
regime, the normal metal-superconductor system shows the yet unexplained
paramagnetic reentrant effect, discovered some years ago [P. Visani, A. C.
Mota, and A. Pollini, Phys. Rev. Lett. 65, 1514 (1990)], superimposing on full
Meissner screening. The logarithmic slope of the reentrant paramagnetic
susceptibility chi_para(T) \propto \exp(-L/\xi_N) is limited by the condition
\xi_N=n L, with \xi_N=\hbar v_F/2 \pi k_B T, the thermal coherence length and
n=1,2,4. In wires with perimeters L=72 \mu m and L=130 \mu m, we observe
integer multiples n=1,2,4. At the lowest temperatures, \chi_para compensates

The impact of self-reported hearing difficulties on memory collaboration in older adults
Cognitive scientists and philosophers recently have highlighted the value of thinking about people at risk of or living with dementia as intertwined parts of broader cognitive systems that involve their spouse, family, friends, or carers. By this view, we rely on people and things around us to âscaffoldâ mental processes such as memory. In the current study, we identified 39 long-married, older adult couples who are part of the Australian Imaging Biomarkers and Lifestyle (AIBL) Study of Ageing; all were cognitively healthy but half were subjective memory complainers. During two visits to their homes 1 week apart, we assessed husbandsâ and wivesâ cognitive performance across a range of everyday memory tasks working alone (Week 1) versus together (Week 2), including a Friends Task where they provided first and last names of their friends and acquaintances. As reported elsewhere, elderly couples recalled many more friendsâ names working together compared to alone. Couples who remembered successfully together used well-developed, rich, sensitive, and dynamic communication strategies to boost each otherâs recall. However, if one or both spouses self-reported mild-to-moderate or severe hearing difficulties (56% of husbands, 31% of wives), couples received less benefit from collaboration. Our findings imply that hearing loss may disrupt collaborative support structures that couples (and other intimate communicative partners) hone over decades together. We discuss the possibility that, cut off from the social world that scaffolds them, hearing loss may place older adults at greater risk of cognitive decline and dementia
Doxorubicin Hydrochloride-Loaded Nonionic Surfactant Vesicles to Treat Metastatic and Non-Metastatic Breast Cancer
Doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) is currently used to treat orthotropic and metastatic breast cancer. Because of its side effects, the use of DOX in cancer patients is sometimes limited; for this reason, several scientists tried designing drug delivery systems which can improve drug therapeutic efficacy and decrease its side effects. In this study, we designed, prepared, and physiochemically characterized nonionic surfactant vesicles (NSVs) which are obtained by self-assembling different combinations of hydrophilic (Tween 20) and hydrophobic (Span 20) surfactants, with cholesterol. DOX was loaded in NSVs using a passive and pH gradient remote loading procedure, which increased drug loading from âź1 to âź45%. NSVs were analyzed in terms of size, shape, size distribution, zeta potential, long-term stability, entrapment efficiency, and release kinetics, and nanocarriers having the best physiochemical parameters were selected for further in vitro tests. NSVs with and without DOX were stable and showed a sustained drug release up to 72 h. In vitro studies, with MCF-7 and MDA MB 468 cells, demonstrated that NSVs, containing Span 20, were better internalized in MCF-7 and MDA MB 468 cells than NSVs with Tween 20. NSVs increased the anticancer effect of DOX in MCF-7 and MDA MB 468 cells, and this effect is time and dose dependent. In vitro studies using metastatic and nonmetastatic breast cancer cells also demonstrated that NSVs, containing Span 20, had higher cytotoxicity than NSVs with Tween 20. The resulting data suggested that DOX-loaded NSVs could be a promising nanocarrier for the potential treatment of metastatic breast cancer
Vitamin D intake in Australian adults and the modeled effects of milk and breakfast cereal fortification
Objective: Vitamin D intake from foods or supplements is a safe and attractive means to improve vitamin D status of populations. The aim of this study was to help identify population subgroups that would benefit most from efforts to increase intake. To do so, we investigated which personal characteristics are associated with vitamin D intake in an Australian population and modeled possible effects of expanded food fortification practices. Methods: We investigated vitamin D intake in a population-based random sample of 785 adults, using a validated food frequency questionnaire, and assessed associations with personal and behavioral characteristics. We identified vitamin D food sources and modeled the hypothetical effects of blanket fortification of milk and breakfast cereals. Results: Average total vitamin D intake was 4.4 (Âą4.0) Îźg/g and below adequate intake for most participants in all age and sex subgroups. Higher intake was associated with being female, having a serious medical condition, energy intake below the median, and vitamin D supplement use (all P < 0.05). The "meat, fish, and eggs" food group contributed most to total vitamin D intake (51%), followed by dairy products and related foods (43%). If all milk and breakfast cereals were to be fortified with vitamin D, the average intake of vitamin D from foods would increase from 3.6 (Âą2.4) Îźg/d to 6.3 (Âą3.2) Îźg/d, with similar increases in all age and sex subgroups. Conclusions: Vitamin D intake in Australia is generally below recommended levels, and few personal characteristics help to identify subgroups with low intake. Blanket vitamin D fortification of milk and breakfast cereals would substantially increase average vitamin D intake in Australian adults of all ages
Metagenomic next-generation sequencing aids the diagnosis of viral infections in febrile returning travellers
Objectives
Travel-associated infections are challenging to diagnose because of the broad spectrum of potential aetiologies. As a proof-of-principle study, we used MNGS to identify viral pathogens in clinical samples from returning travellers in a single center to explore its suitability as a diagnostic tool.
Methods
Plasma samples from 40 returning travellers presenting with a fever of âĽ38°C were sequenced using MNGS on the Illumina MiSeq platform and compared with standard-of-care diagnostic assays.
Results
In total, 11/40 patients were diagnosed with a viral infection. Standard of care diagnostics revealed 5 viral infections using plasma samples; dengue virus 1 (nâŻ=âŻ2), hepatitis E (nâŻ=âŻ1), Ebola virus (nâŻ=âŻ1) and hepatitis A (nâŻ=âŻ1), all of which were detected by MNGS. Three additional patients with Chikungunya virus (nâŻ=âŻ2) and mumps virus were diagnosed by MNGS only. Respiratory infections detected by nasal/throat swabs only were not detected by MNGS of plasma. One patient had infection with malaria and mumps virus during the same admission.
Conclusions
MNGS analysis of plasma samples improves the sensitivity of diagnosis of viral infections and has potential as an all-in-one diagnostic test. It can be used to identify infections that have not been considered by the treating physician, co-infections and new or emerging pathogens.
Summary
Next generation sequencing (NGS) has potential as an all-in-one diagnostic test. In this study we used NGS to diagnose returning travellers with acute febrile illness in the UK, highlighting cases where the diagnosis was missed using standard methods
Expanding the parameters of academia
This paper draws on qualitative data gathered from two studies funded by the UK Leadership Foundation for Higher Education to examine the expansion of academic identities in higher education. It builds on Whitchurchâs earlier work, which focused primarily on professional staff, to suggest that the emergence of broadly based projects such as widening participation, learning support and community partnership is also impacting on academic identities. Thus, academic as well as professional staff are increasingly likely to work in multi-professional teams across a variety of constituencies, as well as with external partners, and the binary distinction between âacademicâ and ânon-academicâ roles and activities is no longer clear-cut. Moreover, there is evidence from the studies of an intentionality about deviations from mainstream academic career routes among respondents who could have gone either way. Consideration is therefore given to factors that influence individuals to work in more project-oriented areas, as well as to variables that affect ways in which these roles and identities develop. Finally, three models of academically oriented project activity are identified, and the implications of an expansion of academic identities are reviewed
Sexual harassment and abuse in sport: The research context
This special issue of the Journal of Sexual Aggression draws on the contributions to a Symposium on âSexual Harassment in Sport â Challenges for Sport Psychology in the New Millenniumâ, held at the Xth Congress of the International Society for Sport Psychology, Skiathos, Greece from May 28th to June 2nd 2001. The symposium, which was organised by the authors of this editorial, was intended to move forward the international research agenda on sexual harassment and abuse in sport and to examine professional practice issues for sport psychologists. It was clear from the attendance of over 60 delegates at that symposium that international interest in this subject is growing. Further evidence of this came from the attendance of 26 members states â from Azerbaijan to Sweden - at a Council of Europe seminar on The Protection of Children, Young People and Women in Sport, held in Helsinki in September 2001
Lyapunov exponent of many-particle systems: testing the stochastic approach
The stochastic approach to the determination of the largest Lyapunov exponent
of a many-particle system is tested in the so-called mean-field
XY-Hamiltonians. In weakly chaotic regimes, the stochastic approach relates the
Lyapunov exponent to a few statistical properties of the Hessian matrix of the
interaction, which can be calculated as suitable thermal averages. We have
verified that there is a satisfactory quantitative agreement between theory and
simulations in the disordered phases of the XY models, either with attractive
or repulsive interactions. Part of the success of the theory is due to the
possibility of predicting the shape of the required correlation functions,
