    Equivalence of Tripartite Quantum States under Local Unitary Transformations

    The equivalence of tripartite pure states under local unitary transformations is investigated. The nonlocal properties for a class of tripartite quantum states in \Cb^K \otimes \Cb^M \otimes \Cb^N composite systems are investigated and a complete set of invariants under local unitary transformations for these states is presented. It is shown that two of these states are locally equivalent if and only if all these invariants have the same values.Comment: 7 page

    The equivalence problem under local unitary transformation for nn--partite pure states is reduced to the one for (n−1)(n-1)--partite mixed states. In particular, a tripartite system HA⊗HB⊗HC\mathcal{H}_A\otimes\mathcal{H}_B\otimes\mathcal{H}_C, where Hj\mathcal{H}_j is a finite dimensional complex Hilbert space for j=A,B,Cj=A,B,C, is considered and a set of invariants under local transformations is introduced, which is complete for the set of states whose partial trace with respect to HA\mathcal{H}_A belongs to the class of generic mixed states.Comment: Latex, 10 page

    Unveiling low THz Dynamics of Liquid Crystals: Identification of Intermolecular Interaction among Intramolecular Modes

    Liquid crystal based technologies have found considerably diversified uses and areas of application over the last few decades, proving to be excellent materials for tunable optical elements from visible to near-infrared frequencies. Currently, much effort is devoted to demonstrating their applicability in the far-infrared or THz spectral frequency (1 - 10 THz), where tremendous advances have been achieved in terms of broadband and intense sources. Yet a detailed understanding of the dynamics triggered by THz light in liquid crystals is far from complete. In this work, we perform broadband THz Time Domain Spectroscopy on the low-frequency modes of 4-cyano-4'-alkylbiphenyl (nCB) and 5-phenylcyclohexanes (PCH5) across different mesophases. DFT calculations on isolated molecules capture the majority of the measured response above 3 THz. In particular, the pronounced modes around 4.5 and 5.5 THz mainly originate from in-plane and out-of-plane bending of the cyano group. In contrast, the broad response below 3 THz, linked to modes of the alkyl chain, disagrees with the single molecule calculation.     The castle Colonna of Arnara: from the restoration of the monument to the enhancement of the ancient village and its territory

    [EN] The castle of Arnara, is located in Ciociaria in southern Lazio, in what was once the feud of the Conti of Ceccano. For the territory it is the most important monumental complex of medieval architecture. In fact, despite its small size, it is one of the few examples of fortified architecture still original in its essential lines. This castle represents an exceptional case of sedimentation and stratification, which even today, from its reading, allows us to reconstruct both its historical events and those related to the urban development of the adjacent historic village. Moreover it can be considered of priority importance also from the urbanistic point of view because it represents the first historical nucleus of Arnara. Unfortunately, today, the castle is in a bad state of conservation. With the passing of time its conditions have become more and more aggravated also because of the complex events linked to the various passages of property, of private and public nature, which have strongly influenced the management of the monument. The study of the castle of Arnara is part of the national and international debate that considers participation a key factor for the sustainable enhancement of the cultural heritage, because it promotes greater awareness of its social and economic value. The objective of the research work is to develop, taking the castle as a case study, a new approach that sees cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) as an irreplaceable heritage of knowledge and as a precious resource for economic growth, employment and social cohesion; therefore a cultural heritage seen as a driving force.     An Optimized Procedure for the Site-Directed Labeling of NGF and proNGF for Imaging Purposes

    Neurotrophins are growth factors of fundamental importance for the development, survival and maintenance of different neuronal and non-neuronal populations. Over the years, the use of labeled neurotrophins has helped in the study of their biological functions, leading to a better understanding of the processes that regulate their transport, traffic, and signaling. However, the diverse and heterogeneous neurotrophin labeling strategies adopted so far have often led to poorly reproducible protocols and sometimes conflicting conclusions. Here we present a robust, reliable, and fast method to obtain homogeneous preparations of fluorescent proNGF and NGF with 1:1 labeling stoichiometry. This strategy is well suited for several applications, ranging from advanced imaging techniques such as single particle tracking, to analyses that require large amounts of neurotrophins such as in vivo monitoring of protein biodistribution. As a proof of the quality of the labeled NGF and proNGF preparations, we provide a quantitative analysis of their colocalization with proteins involved in the signaling endosome function and sorting. This new analysis allowed demonstrating that proNGF localizes at a sub-population of endosomes not completely overlapped to the one hosting NGF
