The reality of space exploration: A complete integral approach of space mission design

The exploration of space is known by many of us through different ways, yet all from very diverse fields which appear to have no linkage at all. We know what topics space exploration deals with, like engineering, astrophysics, planetary science, or economics among others, but we do not know how they are correlated in a mission. Thus, there is a lack of knowledge on how space missions are put together, the different aspects that are considered and how they are approached. Hence, the goal of this project is to provide a framework that encapsulates the entire process of analyzing and designing space missions, offering a holistic view of space mission design rather than a local view of a specific field within it. The present work is not only from the engineering point of view but rather from an interdisciplinary approach, in which the work shows that space exploration entails much more than just engineering (Management, Astrophysics, Planetary science, Astrobiology, Economics). The linkages within these different fields involved in space exploration missions, like the ones mentioned above, will be revealed as well as their contribution to the mission. Along the project, the reader is guided to design a space exploration mission departing from the questioning of exploration (which is a current hot topic) recognizing the importance of exploration, understanding the actuality of the sector, and finally starting with a vague idea of a mission, up until designing, building a team, setting protocols, estimating costs, etc., ultimately designing a mission to Mars

Aquest article analitza la conflictivitat que es produeix durant el segle xviii i la primera meitat del xix a la comarca d’Osona. S’hi estudien dos tipus de conflictes diferents: d’una banda, els lligats a la provisió de productes bàsics per al mercat local; de l’altra, la conflictivitat derivada de l’àmbit productiu, amb els canvis socials derivats del procés de modernització industrial com a rerefons. Al final, es fa una referència als conflictes per l’aprofitament de la llenya dels boscos i a un conflicte amb motiu de la recaptació de nous impostos que va esclatar a Gurb durant la primera dècada del segle xix

Les Petjades mítiques a Catalunya: una geografia gairebé inexplorada

Aquest article estudia les petjades mítiques que es troben a Catalunya, entenent per petjada mítica qualsevol forma del medi natural que sigui vista com la marca del peu d'algun personatge mític sobre alguna superfície natural, normalment la roca. Normalment, aquestes petjades han estat atribuïdes a sants, verges, al mateix déu i als dimonis, sense oblidar els casos d'altres personatges més o menys històrics. Moltes vegades donen lloc a referents toponímics i en tots els casos estudiats algun tipus de narració llegendària explica la seva aparició. Aquest estudi se centra en les primeres manifestacions que s'han pogut documentar i només tracta de manera esporàdica alguns casos referenciats un cop arribat el segle xx. S'ofereix, per primera vegada, un intent d'explicació de la diversitat d'orígens que ha donat lloc a unes formes més o menys semblants sobre la nostra geografia i a les llegendes que les expliquen.Las huellas míticas en Cataluña: una geografía casi inexplorada. Este artículo estudia las huellas míticas que se encuentran en Cataluña, entendiendo por huella mítica cualquier forma del medio natural que sea vista como la marca del pie de algún personaje mítico sobre alguna superficie natural, normalmente la roca. Normalmente, estas huellas han sido atribuidas a santos, vírgenes, al mismo dios y a los demonios, sin olvidar los casos de otros personajes más o menos históricos. Muchas veces han dado lugar a referentes toponímicos y, en todos los casos aquí estudiados, algún tipo de narración legendaria explica su aparición. Este estudio se centra en las primeras manifestaciones que se han podido documentar y sólo trata de manera esporádica algunos casos referenciados una vez llegado el siglo xx. Se ofrece, por primera vez, un intento de explicación de la diversidad de orígenes que ha dado lugar a unas formas más o menos similares sobre nuestra geografía y a las leyendas que las explican.Catalonia mythical foot prints: an almost unknown geography. This article studies the mythical footprints found in Catalonia. We call mythical footprints forms and marks appeared in the natural environment, especially in rocks that are considered as the traces of a mythical character. Usually, those traces are believed to be the traces of Saints, Virgin Mary, or even Good or devils, but also from other characters more or less historic. Sometimes, these legends have become toponymic references, and in all the cases analyzed here, there is a narration that explains the reason for that name. This paper focuses on the first documented cases and in a few cases there are also exams from the twentieth century. For the first time, this paper presents an explanation of the diversity of origins and the commonalities of forms and geographies, and of the legends that explain them

Rehabilitation and social action in Mediterranean old cities: reuse of traditional architecture and social topics on an urban scale : Barcelona Old City, Ciutat Vella

The RehabiMed Project is the result of one observation: in some countries the rehabilitation activity represents more than 50% of the whole construction sector activity, while in other countries it does not even reach 10%. In addition, countries with the highest rates of rehabilitation activity are also the most developed ones; as a result, we can use this data as an indicator of development. Nowadays, RehabiMed is a network of Mediterranean experts from organizations and institutions of 15 countries: Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Spain, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey.Postprint (published version
