Fijación de la no-unión del proceso ancóneo mediante tornillo. Estudio retrospectivo en 13 casos clínicos

En este estudio se hace una evaluación retrospectiva de la técnica de fijación con tornillo del proceso ancóneo no unificado en una serie de 13 casos. Los resultados de la cirugía (con un seguimiento de 2 años de media) fueron considerados "excelentes" o "buenos" en 12 o 13 casos, y todos los animales mejoraron el grado de cojera. En el 92% de los codos se consiguió una unión ósea completa del proceso ancóneo, y en el 70%, un estancamiento de la artrosis. La tasa de complicaciones fue del 15%, todas ellas de carácter muy leve.

Se describe un raro caso de Exóstosis Cartilaginosas Múltiples en una localización poco frecuente como es la lámina dorsal vertebral, produciendo una mielopatía comprensiva. La paresia posterior progresiva resultante fue tratada con éxito quirúrgicamente mediante una laminectomía. El animal recuperó el estado neurológico normal en el postoperatorio inmediato, manteniéndolo a lo largo de un periodo de seguimiento de un año y medio

Role of abrasive material on micro-abrasion wear tests

Micro-abrasion wear tests with ball-cratering configuration are widely used. Sources of variability are already studied by different authors and conditions for testing are parameterized by BS EN 1071-6: 2007 standard which refers silicon carbide as abrasive. However, the use of other abrasives is possible and allowed. In this work, ball-cratering wear tests were performed using four different abrasive particles of three dissimilar materials: diamond, alumina and silicon carbide. Tests were carried out under the same conditions on a steel plate provided with TiB2 hard coating. For each abrasive, five different test durations were used allowing understanding the initial wear phenomena. Composition and shape of abrasive particles were investigated by SEM and EDS. Scar areas were observed by optical and electronic microscopy in order to understand the wear effects caused by each of them. Scar geometry and grooves were analyzed and compared. Wear coefficient was calculated for each situation. It was observed that diamond particles produce well-defined and circular wear scars. TPM implementation and maintenance strategic plan: a case study

Maintenance has assumed an increasing importance in the reorganization of the industrial sector. However, there are several companies where a maintenance strategic plan needs to be implemented. This work was developed in an industrial context, in a company of Clutches and Hydraulic Controls. The focus was the implementation of a strategic plan for maintenance. The methodology chosen was Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and the cells chosen for implementation were CNC Lathes and CNC Machining Centers. The TPM uses some maintenance activities, whose come from preventive maintenance (PM), and focuses on eliminating efficiency losses. The main problems of the cell equipment were analyzed and eliminated. Through the analysis of maintenance manuals and internal know-how, autonomous maintenance (AM) procedures and preventive maintenance plans have been created to be executed following a given timeframe. At the end of the study, the results were clearly positive due to the corrective and preventive maintenance. There was a decrease in breakdowns due to failure by 23% for CNC lathes and by 38% for CNC machining centers, which resulted in an evident increase in machine availability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improved by 5%.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
