In this paper, we report our participation to the ESTER 2 (Evaluation des Systèmes de Transcription Enrichie d¿Emissions Radiophoniques) evaluation campaign. After describing the goals, specificities and challenges of the campaign, we present our named entity detection system and focus on the adaptations made in the framework of the campaign. We present the results obtained during the competition and then new results obtained afterward. We then conclude by the lessons we learned from this experiment.JRC.G.2-Global security and crisis managemen

Rencontres photographiques à domicile : un accompagnement palliatif

    Get PDF
Support in palliative home care guest to the question of intimacy but also that of identity choice to live at home until the end. By photography, I got in relationship and I worked with people in traitement to represent what matters in their place. It led them to tell own story like habitants of their life. In this paper, I offer an overview of these home dating through picture and text storytelling

SMaLL-100: Introducing Shallow Multilingual Machine Translation Model for Low-Resource Languages

In recent years, multilingual machine translation models have achieved promising performance on low-resource language pairs by sharing information between similar languages, thus enabling zero-shot translation. To overcome the "curse of multilinguality", these models often opt for scaling up the number of parameters, which makes their use in resource-constrained environments challenging. We introduce SMaLL-100, a distilled version of the M2M-100 (12B) model, a massively multilingual machine translation model covering 100 languages. We train SMaLL-100 with uniform sampling across all language pairs and therefore focus on preserving the performance of low-resource languages. We evaluate SMaLL-100 on different low-resource benchmarks: FLORES-101, Tatoeba, and TICO-19 and demonstrate that it outperforms previous massively multilingual models of comparable sizes (200-600M) while improving inference latency and memory usage. Additionally, our model achieves comparable results to M2M-100 (1.2B), while being 3.6x smaller and 4.3x faster at inference. Relationships between calpains and glutamate- or kainate-induced apoptosis in Xenopus laevis tadpoles

Abstract: Cell glutamate-damage induced by overstimulation of ionotropic receptors is initiated by modification of the intracellular Ca2+ homeostasis and the concomitant activation of Ca2+-dependent cysteine proteases, the calpain and caspase families. The resultant cleavage of target molecules mediates a critical function in the execution of the cell death. In this work, we investigated relationships between the activity of calpain and glutamate-orkainate-induced apoptosis in several organs of Xenopus laevis tadpole. Animals (stage 48) were incubated for 3 hours with glutamate (30–120 mM) or kainate (0.015–0.75 mM) and the rise of both apoptosis and calpain was observed in several organs. Our results indicated that glutamate (120 mM) or kainate (0.15 mM) exposure induced cell death with apoptotic features. The toxic effects of drugs into the organs were variable. Apoptosis was probably not the only form of cell death and option of necrosis or apoptosis was depending on the stimulation degree of the receptor, i.e. the receptor type, intensity and time course of molecule exposure. The increase of ubiquitous calpain was not correlated with the peak of apoptosis, suggesting the role of calpain in cell death was complex: calpain and caspase pathways were tightly interrelated in the glutamate- or kainate-induced cell death and the contribution of calpain to another type of death than apoptosis was perhaps preferred

Xrce: Hybrid classification for aspect-based sentiment analysis.

Abstract In this paper, we present the system we have developed for the SemEval-2014 Task 4 dedicated to Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis. The system is based on a robust parser that provides information to feed different classifiers with linguistic features dedicated to aspect categories and aspect categories polarity classification. We mainly present the work which has been done on the restaurant domain 1 for the four subtasks, aspect term and category detection and aspect term and category polarity

Impact of anatase and rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles on uptake carriers and efflux pumps in Caco-2 gut epithelial cells

International audienceTiO2 microparticles are widely used in food products, where they are added as a white food colouring agent. This food additive contains a significant amount of nanoscale particles; still the impact of TiO2 nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs) on gut cells is poorly documented. Our study aimed at evaluating the impact of rutile and anatase TiO2-NPs on the main functions of enterocytes, i.e. nutrient absorption driven by solute-liquid carriers (SLC transporters) and protection against other xenobiotics driven by efflux pumps from the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) family. We show that acute exposure of Caco-2 cells to both anatase (12 nm) and rutile (20 nm) TiO2-NPs induce early upregulation of a battery of efflux pumps and nutrient transporters. In addition they cause overproduction of reactive oxygen species and misbalance redox repair systems, without inducing cell mortality or DNA damage. Taken together, these data suggest that TiO2-NPs may increase the functionality of gut epithelial cells, particularly their property to form a protective barrier against exogenous toxicants and to absorb nutrients

Bone abnormalities of the knee: MRI features

    Get PDF
The knee is one of the most studied anatomical structures by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Bone abnormalities are very frequently detected, whether or not related to the symptoms for which imaging was indicated. The aim of this pictorial study is to review the most commonly observed bone abnormalities of the knee, bearing in mind that the interpretation of MR images should always take into consideration both clinical and laboratory data, as well as the results of conventional X-ray imaging
