    Se trata de valorar la aportación de las cofradías marianas y la significación de sus programas artísticos. Para ello, se ha tomado el ejemplo de la villa cordobesa de Puente Genil y el de sus cofradías de Nuestra Señora del Rosario y Nuestra Señora de la Concepción. Aquélla la antigua patrona de la población y ésta la nueva, tras un solemne voto proclamado con motivo de la peste de 1650. Su historia conjunta revela una secuencia de empresas artísticas, entre retablos y ajuares de platería, para culminar en la construcción de la iglesia patronal en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII, como auténtico monumento devocional de la villa.This paper assesses the contribution of Marian confraternities and significance of their artistics programs. It has been taken as an example the confraternities of Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of the Conception of Puente Genil (Córdoba). The first was the old patroness of the town, while the second it was after the plague of 1650. This story resulted in the production of works of art, including altarpieces and regalia of silverware, culminating in the construction of the church of the patron saint in the second half of the eighteenth century, as authentic devotional monument of the town

    Nanosized Calcium Phosphates as Novel Macronutrient Nano-Fertilizers

    The need for qualitatively and quantitatively enhanced food production, necessary for feeding a progressively increasingWorld population, requires the adoption of new and sustainable agricultural protocols. Among them, limiting the waste of fertilizers in the environment has become a global target. Nanotechnology can offer the possibility of designing and preparing novel materials alternative to conventional fertilizers, which are more readily absorbed by plant roots and, therefore, enhance nutrient use efficiency. In this context, during the last decade, great attention has been paid to calcium phosphate nanoparticles (CaP), particularly nanocrystalline apatite and amorphous calcium phosphate, as potential macronutrient nano-fertilizers with superior nutrient-use efficiency to their conventional counterparts. Their inherent content in macronutrients, like phosphorus, and gradual solubility in water have been exploited for their use as slow P-nano-fertilizers. Likewise, their large (specific) surfaces, due to their nanometric size, have been functionalized with additional macronutrient-containing species, like urea or nitrate, to generate N-nano-fertilizers with more advantageous nitrogen-releasing profiles. In this regard, several studies report encouraging results on the superior nutrient use efficiency showed by CaP nano-fertilizers in several crops than their conventional counterparts. Based on this, the advances of this topic are reviewed here and critically discussed, with special emphasis on the preparation and characterization approaches employed to synthesize/functionalize the engineered nanoparticles, as well as on their fertilization properties in different crops and in different (soil, foliar, fertigation and hydroponic) conditions.     Synthesis and reactivity studies of cationic Ir(III) alkylidines. α-hydride abstraction reactions

    The chemistry of late transition metal alkylidenes [M=CR2], where R is H a hydrocarbyl group, have attracted widespread attention although mainly with reference to complexes of metals in low oxidation state. We focus in this paper on reactions based on electrophilic attacks by Ph3C+ that allow either isolation of stable cationic Ir(III) alkylidenes, considerably more attractive than well-known Ir(I) counterparts, or the generation of very reactive variants that experience fast migratory insertion into existing Ir-C and Ir-H sigma bonds. The present studies are based on (η5-C5Me5)Ir(III) complexes that bear a cyclometalated PMeXyl2 ligand (Xyl = 2,6-Me2C6H3). The contribution of different monoanionic ligands (chloride, alkyl or hydride) to either stabilize the Ir=CR2 linkage or provide facile reactivity routes has been investigated, including the use of various deuterium isotopologues of the iridium complex precursors

    Reaction of the Ir(iii) dimer [(η 5 -C 5 Me 5 )IrCl 2 ] 2 with PMeXyl 2 (Xyl = 2,6-C 6 H 3 Me 2 ), in the presence of the poorly coordinating base 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl piperidine, gives a chloride complex 1-Cl, resulting from hydrogen chloride elimination involving one of the phosphine benzylic hydrogen atoms and concomitant cyclometallation. Related compounds containing other halide or pseudohalide ligands, 1-Br, 1-Cl, 1-SCN, can be made, the latter featuring S-coordination of the ambidentate thiocyanate to the soft Ir(iii) Lewis acid centre, as suggested by IR data and demonstrated by X-ray crystallography. Hydride 2-H, and alkyl derivatives 3 (Me) and 4 (CH 2 SiMe 3 ) can also be prepared from 1-Cl and appropriate hydride and alkylating reagents. An interesting H/D exchange chemistry that occurs in the presence of CD 3 OD has been disclosed for 1-Cl, 1-Br and 2-H.     Energy consumption in the US reconsidered. Evidence across sources and economic sectors

    This study analyzes the impact of GDP shocks in USA on primary energy consumption and the reverse impact in a comprehensive and novel framework, distinguishing by economic sectors (commercial, industrial, residential and transportation) and energy source, i.e., total fossil (coal, natural gas and petroleum), nuclear, and renewable (hydroelectric, geothermal and biomass) for the period 1973:1 to 2015:2. To this end, we apply Granger causality analysis through the Hatemi-J [1] and Toda and Yamamoto [2] approaches from a time series perspective to evaluate the existence of asymmetries on this bidirectional relationship. The empirical results suggest that the impact of GDP on primary energy consumption is heterogeneous and energy source-specific, and an asymmetric behavior appears among cycles. Moreover, it seems clear that the US economy is highly dependent on petroleum energy consumption. The renewable energy sources do not seem to show any relationshipsources seem to show no relationship with economic growth, and finally, our results suggest that energy consumption in the industrial sector is key to economic growth and is also very sensitive to negative economic shocks

    El recobriment dels embotits : una causa poc coneguda de pneumonitits per hipersensibilitat

    La pneumonitis per hipersensibilitat (PH) comprèn un grup de malalties pulmonars produïdes per la inhalació de certes substàncies, principalment orgàniques, que, en individus susceptibles, poden desencadenar una reacció inflamatòria a nivell dels alvèols, els bronquíols i l'interstici pulmonar. Investigadors del Departament de Medicina de la UAB han tret a la llum els casos de PH causada per la inhalació continuada de pols del recobriment dels embotits per part dels xarcuters, en el seu lloc de treball. Durant la seva elaboració, els embotits són submergits en un bany que conté fongs per millorar-ne el gust. Al final del procés, el recobriment de fongs del producte és eliminat mitjantçant una raspallada que genera la pols en qüestió.La neumonitis por hipersensibilidad (PH) comprende un grupo deenfermedades pulmonares producidas por la inhalación de ciertas sustancias, principalmente orgánicas, que, en individuos susceptibles,pueden desencadenar una reacción inflamatoria a nivel de los alvéolos,los bronquiolos y el intersticio pulmonar. Investigadores delDepartamento de Medicina de la UAB han sacado a la luz los casos de PH causada por la inhalación continuada de polvo del recubrimiento delos embutidos por parte de los charcuteros, en su lugar de trabajo. Durante su elaboración, los embutidos son sumergidos en un baño que contiene hongos para mejorar su sabor.     Les contínues inhalacions, per part dels soldadors, de partícules en suspensió d'òxids metàl·lics i diversos gasos suposen un risc per a la seva salut. Aquests treballadors estan més exposats a patir símptomes respiratoris i alteracions de la funció pulmonar. En concret, la febre per fum de metalls és la més probable de ser patida pels soldadors que treballen amb ferro galvanitzat. Els metalls que estan combinats en aquest tipus de material (níquel, crom o cobalt) poden ser els causants d'aquesta patologia i, segons estudis realitzats per l'equip del Dr. Muñoz, la sola exposició als fums de soldadura podria ser la causa de l'asma. En qualsevol cas, es necessiten més estudis clínics per poder establir els mecanismes que hi són implicats.Las continuas inhalaciones, por parte de los soldadores, de partículas en suspensión de óxidos metálicos y diversos gases suponen un riesgo para su salud. Estos trabajadores están más expuestos a padecer síntomas respiratorios y alteraciones de la función pulmonar. En concreto, la fiebre por humo de metales es la más probable de ser padecida por los soldadores que trabajan con hierro galvanizado. Los metales que están combinados en este tipo de material (níquel, cromo o cobalto) pueden ser los causantes de esta patología y, según estudios realizados por el equipo del Dr. Muñoz, la sola exposición a los humos de soldadura podría ser la causa del asma. En cualquier caso, se necesitan más estudios clínicos para poder establecer los mecanismos implicados

It was a work of art destined for o small population, such as old Puente Genil in the 16th century and did not have the category of the great monstrances of the period, but despite this fact shows the tremendous effort in the realisation of these structures, for the Corpus Christi procession even in these the greatness of the nobles to whow they belonged, in this specific case the Marquess of Priego and Lord of Aguilar.     Competencias autopercibidas en maniobras de resucitación por el profesorado en centros educativos de Tenerife

    Introducción: Los colegios son lugares donde pasa un gran afluente de niños, padres y profesores a diario, por lo que en cualquier momento los docentes se pueden ver involucrados en una situación de peligro que requiera de maniobras de resucitación para salvar la vida de la persona. Al mismo tiempo, si tuvieran unas competencias adecuadas y de calidad, podrían actuar como formadores de los alumnos, aumentando la población conocedora de estas maniobras. Objetivo: Valorar las competencias en maniobras de resucitación pediátrica (RCP/OVACE/DESA) que tienen los docentes de Tenerife. Metodología: Se ha desarrollado un estudio descriptivo de carácter transversal, mediante un muestreo por conveniencia sobre los profesores de centros educativos públicos, privados y concertados de Tenerife. Entre los meses de abril y marzo, tras la previa autorización de los centros, se les pasó un cuestionario electrónico anónimo y de carácter voluntario, cuyos resultados fueron recogidos y organizados haciendo uso del Microsoft Excel, y posteriormente, codificados y analizados mediante el SPSS. Resultados: Se recibieron un total de 95 respuestas, pero que aplicando los criterios de inclusión y exclusión se analizaron 89 de ellos, representando a 12 municipios diferentes. Como resultado destaca que los docentes perciben su capacidad en competencias de resucitación como regular, y notifican que no son del todo capaces de realizar una secuencia de reanimación adecuada. Conclusión: A partir de los resultados del estudio y atendiendo a la opinión de los docentes, se recomienda realizar regularmente una formación ofrecida por personal sanitario que recuerde y actualice los conocimientos de estos.Introduction: Schools are places where a large influx of children, parents and teachers pass daily, so that, at any time, teachers can be involved in a dangerous situation that requires resuscitation manoeuvres to save the person life´s. At the same time, if they had appropriate and quality skills, they could act as trainers for students, increasing the population that has knowledge about these manoeuvres. Objective: Assess the skills in paediatric resuscitation manoeuvres (CPR/FBAO/AED) that teachers in Tenerife have. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study has been developed, using a convenience sampling of teachers from public, private and subsidized schools in Tenerife. Between the months of April and March, after prior authorization from the schools, they were given an anonymous and voluntary electronic questionary, which results were collected and organized using Microsoft Excel, and later, coded and analysed using SPSS. Results: A total of 95 responses were received, but applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 89 of them were analysed, representing 12 different municipalities. As a result, it stands out that teachers perceive their ability in resuscitation skills as regular, and report that they are not fully capable to perform an adequate resuscitation sequence. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study and considering the opinion of the teachers, a regular training offered by sanitary staff should be carried out to remember and update their knowledge
