In this talk, Ill present some statistics of the EMOO repository (delta.cs.cinvestav.mx/~ccoello/EMOO/), emphasizing some of the trends that have been detected in terms of basic research and applications of multi-objective evolutionary algorithms. For example, Ill discuss the remarkable increase in PhD theses related to EMOO, as well as the number of journal papers and exposure of the area in evolutionary computation conferences. Finally, some (potential) future research trends will also be discussed

research reportIn this work we develop a framework for the approximation of the entire set of ϵ\epsilon-efficient solutions of a multi-objective optimization problem with stochastic search algorithms. For this, we propose the set of interest, investigate its topology and state a convergence result for a generic stochastic search algorithm toward this set of interest. Finally, we present some numerical results indicating the practicability of the novel approach

A particle swarm optimizer for multi-objective optimization

This paper proposes a hybrid particle swarm approach called Simple Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimizer (SMOPSO) which incorporates Pareto dominance, an elitist policy, and two techniques to maintain diversity: a mutation operator and a grid which is used as a geographical location over objective function space. In order to validate our approach we use three well-known test functions proposed in the specialized literature. Preliminary simulations results are presented and compared with those obtained with the Pareto Archived Evolution Strategy (PAES) and the Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm 2 (MOGA2). These results also show that the SMOPSO algorithm is a promising alternative to tackle multiobjective optimization problems.Facultad de Informátic

Un algoritmo basado en células T para resolver problemas de despacho de energía económico y dinámico

This paper presents the artificial immune system IA DED (Immune Algorithm Dynamic Economic Dispatch) to solve the Dynamic Economic Dispatch (DED) problem and the Dynamic Economic Emission Dispatch (DEED) problem. Our approach considers these as dynamic problems whose constraints change over time. IA DED is inspired on the activation process that T cells suffer in order to find partial solutions. The proposed approach is validated using several DED problems taken from specialized literature and one DEED problem. The latter is addressed by transforming a multi-objective problem into a single-objective problem by using a linear aggregating function that combines the (weighted) values of the objectives into a single scalar value. Our results are compared with respect to those obtained by other approaches taken from the specialized literature. We also provide some statistical analysis in order to determine the sensitivity of the performance of our proposed approach to its parameters. Part of this work was presented at the XXV Argentine Congress of Computer Science (CACIC), 2019.Facultad de Informátic
