Standard Model Extension with Flipped Generations

An extension of the Standard Model is presented that leads to the possible existence of new gauge bosons with masses in the range of a few TeV. Due to the fact that their couplings to Standard Model fermions are strongly suppressed, it is possible for them to be hidden from current searches. The model contains additional generations of fermions with quantum numbers resembling those of the Standard Model fermion generations but with a twist: their charge assignments are such that their electric charges and chiralities are flipped with respect to those of their corresponding Standard Model counterparts. This feature provides a way to obtain potential dark matter candidates and the interesting possibility for a Lepton number conserving dimension-five operator for Dirac neutrino masses. The model implications associated to electroweak precision parameters, flavor changing neutral currents, and diphoton rate contributions are briefly discussed. The general assumptions of this set up are also used to sketch a couple of variants of the model with peculiar features that could motivate further study.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables. Fiscal Sustainability in Emerging Market Countries with an Application to Ecuador

    Get PDF
This paper surveys the recent literature on fiscal sustainability, with particular emphasis on emerging market countries. It discusses the main elements that differentiate emerging market countries from industrial countries and then discusses how probabilistic models can help to evaluate fiscal sustainability in an uncertain environment. Based on this discussion, the paper uses Ecuador to illustrate an application of the probabilistic model, and of the framework to evaluate the impact of shocks to current account financing on sustainability.

The Argentinean Précieuses: Argentine Francophone Literature

Strengthening the capacity to serve undocumented students in a rural California State University

    Get PDF
Undocumented students face many obstacles while seeking a higher education degree. As undocumented students apply and are accepted to colleges and universities, they should have the means and resources to complete their higher education degree like all students. An array of strategies can be considered and implemented to have educators and school administrators in higher education be better equipped to serve all students, but specifically undocumented students. Educators and administrators could continue their acquisition of knowledge base and comfortability about the different implications that surround undocumented students. Therefore, this thesis seeks to examine the efficacy of self-reports on a pre- and post-surveys before and after attending the Undocumented Student Ally Trainings (USAT). The training was delivered to students, staff, faculty, administrators and/or community members in the Spring and Fall semesters of 2018, and these provide a measurement of self-perception based on participants’ information or knowledge on basic immigration concepts and policies. The training focuses on terminology, state and federal legislation that directly affect undocumented students who are in or considering higher education, and identifies supports and resources to better serve these students. This study hopes to contribute to the research about vulnerable populations, undocumented students, by adding a rural perspective by answering the following research questions: Before the USAT training, what is the self-disclosed perception that participants have about their knowledge of undocumented students? After the USAT training, what is the subjective perception among participants about their change in knowledge

Production scheduling in manufacturing companies is a problem to which several authors have proposed solutions considering different alternatives, these have been able to implement very few because its high complexity, raised dynamic assumptions and process variability in manufacturing not makes the task easy. This paper presents a methodological evaluation of planning the printing area of a manufacturing company using for this queuing theory methodology with which the viability of mail to order manufacturing process was analyzed, once machine cycles, the forecasts for the year of the main references and associated restrictions process were known
