Le sens des messages publicitaires : interprétation ou décodage ?

Depuis la professionnalisation de la communication, les messages publicitaires signifient pour l'essentiel dans l'implicite. Pourtant l'analyse de corpus en réception montre que ces messages, fussent-ils énigmatiques, sont traités sur un mode heuristique automatique. La certitude signifiante quant à l'intention du locuteur dispense en effet de tout travail interprétatif. L'interprétation, mise en question du sens, serait d'ailleurs contraire aux objectifs publicitaires ; car la persuasion, comme dans le discours idéologique, repose ici sur la non problématisation (évidences implicites). Le langage utilisé à cette fin, détaché du principe de représentation et dégagé de toute (inter)subjectivité, révèle le tautisme (Sfez) des sociétés dites de communication

La notion de compétences relationnelles : une conception utilitariste de la relation à l’autre

Le modèle des compétences, maintes fois décrit comme produit idéologique de l’individualisme libéral, tend à se réorganiser autour de la notion de compétences relationnelles. Par delà la confusion apparente qu’apporte cette notion polysémique, une analyse de corpus conçu en tant que formation discursive révèle sa consistance paradoxale : autonomie supposant l’identification à l’entreprise, empathie instrumentalisante, relégation du collectif dans l’interpersonnel... Ces compétences apparaissent in fine comme source d’aliénation, et plus largement substitut tautistique de la communication.The notion of social skills : a psychotic view of the interpersonal relationship ? The competence model, commonly described as an ideological product of liberal individualism, is reorganizing itself around the notion of interpersonal skills. Beyond the seeming confusion of this polysemic concept, a corpus - analysed as a discursive formation - reveals its paradoxical consistency: autonomy assuming identification to the corporation, instrumentalised empathy, collective matters being reduced to interpersonal matters... These skills eventually appear as a source of alienation, and more generally as a tautistic surrogate of communication

Transposition of a triphosgene-based process for pharmaceutical development: from mg·h-1 to kg·h-1 of an unsymmetrical urea

A two reaction synthesis of a urea, using triphosgene, was studied. The objective was to transpose the process from laboratory scale to pre-industrial plant. The whole study was performed in a continuous process, adapting the characteristic dimensions and length of the reactor. In this paper, the development of the process is presented, and the choices about safety and operating conditions constraints are discussed. The final operation allows a 70% global yield in a 7 week study. Furthermore, the use of microreactors not only permits an exhaustive study of the process operating parameters, but also provides feedback on the developed chemistry itself. The results obtained are a demonstration of the use of continuous processes in small scale reactors for complex molecule development. The mg·h-1 to kg·h-1 is a key transposition in the pharmaceutical industries project development, as it can help to accelerate the first lot production used in toxicological or pre-clinic stages

The Athena X-ray Integral Field Unit: a consolidated design for the system requirement review of the preliminary definition phase

The Athena X-ray Integral Unit (X-IFU) is the high resolution X-ray spectrometer, studied since 2015 for flying in the mid-30s on the Athena space X-ray Observatory, a versatile observatory designed to address the Hot and Energetic Universe science theme, selected in November 2013 by the Survey Science Committee. Based on a large format array of Transition Edge Sensors (TES), it aims to provide spatially resolved X-ray spectroscopy, with a spectral resolution of 2.5 eV (up to 7 keV) over an hexagonal field of view of 5 arc minutes (equivalent diameter). The X-IFU entered its System Requirement Review (SRR) in June 2022, at about the same time when ESA called for an overall X-IFU redesign (including the X-IFU cryostat and the cooling chain), due to an unanticipated cost overrun of Athena. In this paper, after illustrating the breakthrough capabilities of the X-IFU, we describe the instrument as presented at its SRR, browsing through all the subsystems and associated requirements. We then show the instrument budgets, with a particular emphasis on the anticipated budgets of some of its key performance parameters. Finally we briefly discuss on the ongoing key technology demonstration activities, the calibration and the activities foreseen in the X-IFU Instrument Science Center, and touch on communication and outreach activities, the consortium organisation, and finally on the life cycle assessment of X-IFU aiming at minimising the environmental footprint, associated with the development of the instrument. Thanks to the studies conducted so far on X-IFU, it is expected that along the design-to-cost exercise requested by ESA, the X-IFU will maintain flagship capabilities in spatially resolved high resolution X-ray spectroscopy, enabling most of the original X-IFU related scientific objectives of the Athena mission to be retained. Consistance du portrait personnologique et proximité de la cible

International audienceLa mobilisation de théories implicites de personnalité lors de la formation d'une impression personnologique se manifeste par la forte consistance, évaluative mais aussi descriptive, de la description de la personnalité de la cible. On fait ici l'hypothèse que cette consistance est affectée par la proximité, objective (statutaire) et subjective (perçue), entre évaluateur et évalué, jusqu'à disparaître dans l'autodescription. On a donc demandé à des sujets de choisir, dans un ensemble de traits de personnalité, ceux qui décrivaient bien leur propre personnalité (groupe 1), la personnalité d'un équivalent social (groupe 2), ou la personnalité d'un autrui socialement distant (groupe 3). La consistance est opérationnalisée à partir d'une estimation de la valeur des traits par des juges (consistance évaluative), et d'une catégorisation psychométrique des traits (dimensions des Big Five ; consistance descriptive). Il apparaît que la proximité subjective, en interaction avec la proximité objective, entretient une relation complexe avec la consistance notamment descriptive ; mais les portraits d'autrui se caractérisent tous par leur forte consistance, tandis que les autoportraits sont non seulement évaluativement ambivalents, mais aussi descriptivement contradictoires. La forte homogénéité intra-groupe invite à interroger les traits sous l'angle de leur fonction psychologique plutôt que leur contenu référentiel. Analyse socio-cognitive d'un modèle explicatif infalsifiable : la « psychologie quotidienne »

International audienceL'explication psychologique, objet d'une psychologie sociale de la reproduction idéologique, est une activité quotidienne fondée sur certaines préconceptions normatives (les actes reflètent ce que sont leurs auteurs et s'expliquent par des caractéristiques internes). On se propose ici d'étudier les procédés cognitivo-discursifs par lesquels la psychologie quotidienne, en tant que modèle explicatif a priori infalsifiable, résiste à la connaissance de son propre fonctionnement. Pour ce faire, on a enseigné à des étudiants la psychosociologie de la rationalisation (qui montre, en prenant appui sur la théorie de la dissonance cognitive, comment les idéologies s'ajustent a posteriori aux comportements), puis on leur a demandé, dans un examen écrit, de prédire et d'expliquer les résultats d'une expérimentation faisant intervenir les processus étudiés. Une variable indépendante invoquée, la quantité de connaissances théoriques, a permis de constituer trois groupes. L'analyse des copies montre que les étudiants ne mobilisant aucune connaissance théorique développent un raisonnement conforme, tant dans sa structure que dans les contenus qu'il met en relation, à l'explication quotidienne. Les étudiants qui disposent de quelques connaissances parviennent à intégrer celles-ci à une argumentation dont la cohérence reste fondamentalement dépendante de présupposés quotidiens. Quant aux copies des « bons » étudiants, elles ne présentent aucune trace de psychologie naïve, mais la cohérence s'établit indépendamment des éléments théoriquement déterminants, ce qui laisse supposer une assimilation des connaissances au modèle quotidien qui n'est pas sans évoquer certaines réinterprétations « commodes » de la théorie de la dissonance
