The bounded proper forcing axiom and well orderings of the reals

We show that the bounded proper forcing axiom BPFA implies that there is a well-ordering of P(ω_1) which is Δ_1 definable with parameter a subset of ω_1. Our proof shows that if BPFA holds then any inner model of the universe of sets that correctly computes N_2 and also satisfies BPFA must contain all subsets of ω_1. We show as applications how to build minimal models of BPFA and that BPFA implies that the decision problem for the Härtig quantifier is not lightface projective

Downward transference of mice and universality of local core models

If M is a proper class inner model of ZFC and omega_2^M=omega_2, then every sound mouse projecting to omega and not past 0-pistol belongs to M. In fact, under the assumption that 0-pistol does not belong to M, K^M \| omega_2 is universal for all countable mice in V. Regressive Functions on Pairs

We compute an explicit upper bound for the regressive Ramsey numbers by a combinatorial argument, the corresponding function being of Ackermannian growth. For this, we look at the more general problem of bounding g(n, m), the least l such that any regressive function ƒ: [m, l][2]→ℕ admits a min-homogeneous set of size n. Analysis of this function also leads to the simplest known proof that the regressive Ramsey numbers have rate of growth at least Ackermannian. Together, these results give a purely combinatorial proof that, for each m, g(·, m) has rate of growth precisely Ackermannian, considerably improve the previously known bounds on the size of regressive Ramsey numbers, and provide the right rate of growth of the levels of g. For small numbers we also find bounds on their value under g improving the ones provided by our general argument

Profile of security guards in cultural centers, specifically in museums

Preservar la cultura de los pueblos es una de las exigencias e imperativos que se encuentra en manos del Estado y la humanidad, por ser un patrimonio histórico que refleja el devenir de las sociedades. En ese sentido, el ensayo que se presenta a continuación busca dar respuesta a la necesidad de identificar un perfil de los guardas de seguridad en centros culturales, específicamente los museos, de ahí que se torne importante establecer cuál es la problemática que afrontan los museos y su impacto en el patrimonio cultural nacional e internacional, debido a que las obras expuestas tienen un valor histórico, social y cultural incalculable y el daño que se haga, afecta no sólo al museo, sino a toda la humanidad. En este sentido, se plantea la necesidad que los museos cuenten con un guarda de seguridad que llene las condiciones y requisitos que exige este tipo de entidades culturales.To preserve the culture of the peoples is one of the requirements and imperatives that one finds in hands not only of the State, but of the whole humanity, for being this a historical heritage that it reflects to develop of the companies. In that sense, the trial presented below seeks to respond to the need to identify a profile of security guards in cultural centers, specifically in museums, hence it becomes important to establish what the problems faced by museums and its impact on the national and international cultural heritage, because the works here exposed are invaluable historical, social and cultural value and the damage it will do, affects not only the museum itself, but to all humanity. In this sense, there is a need for museums to have a security guard that meets the conditions and requirements under this type of cultural entities

Reconstruir para el futuro. La crisis de la forma-Estado en América Latina

ResumenEl artículo propone una interpretación sobre la crisis de la forma-Estado en América Latina. Consideramos que existe una relación paradójica entre el debilitamiento (fracaso) de la forma-Estado, como principio relacional y estructural que marca el inminente ocaso de la sociedad y de la rearticulación de la comunidad humana; y el fortalecimiento (éxito) del aparato estatal, a través de reformas económicas, administrativas y políticas, que intensifican el proceso de dominación y despojo. Concluimos que existe una comunidad institucionalizada en diversas escuelas de pensamiento, que explican y dan cuenta de una realidad que en términos sistémicos, están basadas en diagnósticos fragmentarios de la realidad, por lo que es necesario retomar categorías como clase social y totalidad, para comprender el antagonismo fundacional del Estado y el origen estructural de la crisis, como orden y condición social.AbstractThis article is an interpretation of the crisis of the state-form in Latin America. We believe that there is a paradoxical relationship between the weakening (failure) of the state-form, relational and structural principle marking the imminent decline of the society and the re-articulation of the human community, and strengthening (success) the state apparatus through economic reforms, administrative and political, which intensify the process of domination and dispossession. We conclude that there is an institutionalized community in various schools of thought that explain and account for a fact that in systemic terms, diagnoses are based on fragmentary reality, so it is necessary to use categories such as social class and totality to understand the State foundational antagonism and structural origin of the crisis, such as order and social conditions

Sesgo de medición del IPC: nueva evidencia para Colombia

En este trabajo se estima el sesgo total del Índice de Precios al Consumidor en Colombia con base en la metodología propuesta por Hamilton (2001). El ejercicio se fundamenta en la estimación de una ecuación de demanda por alimentos para el período 1984/85 a 1994/95 con la información de la Encuesta de Ingresos y Gastos de esos años. Se llega a la conclusión de que el sesgo total de este índice osciló entre un 1.63 y un 1.69 puntos porcentuales promedio por año en este período.C43; E31; D12.
